The next day I got dressed casually and walked over to the Yagami household. I knocked on the door and Sayu opened the door and showed me a smile. I smiled back.

   " Y/n! "

   " Sayu! It's good to see you. "

   " You too. It feels like it's been forever since I've seen you. "

   " Agreed. "

I walked inside and she shut the door behind me. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Yagami in the dining room getting everything set on the table. 

   " Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Yagami. "

   " Evening Y/n! "

   " I'm so glad you came, dearie! "

Mrs. Yagami hugged me and I hugged her back with a small laugh. 

   " Thank you, Mrs. Yagami. It's good to see everyone. "

   " What's going on? I could hear you all shout from upstairs? "

I turned around and saw Light standing at the bottom of the stairs. He saw me and smiled brightly. 

   " Never mind I see what's going on. "

Light walked into the dining room and hugged me. I hugged him back.

   " It's so good to see you N/n! "

   " You too Light! It feels like it's been forever. I actually remembered something I needed to talk to you about. "

   " You two can have your chats after lunch. Please come sit and join us Y/n. "

   " It would be my pleasure, Mrs. Yagami. "

( Light's P.O.V. )

   " You should be scared, Light. " Ryuk said behind me

   ' No, I shouldn't. You're overreacting Ryuk. I'm glad Y/n wanted to talk alone. I needed to talk with her too. '

I held out her chair and she sat down in it and I pushed it to the table. I sat beside her and my mother set the plates down on the table. We all started eating and discussing what's been going on lately. I saw the smile marked on Y/n's face and it made me happy to see her smile.

   ' I could imagine this happening every day. Y/n and me in a home of our own laughing and enjoying life. I need to get rid of L first. Then I can kill off the rest of the criminals and rule the world. It will no longer rot and Y/n and I can live in peace. '

   " Light are you okay? "

I looked at Y/n and smiled.

   " I'm fine. Just thinking. "

   " Well, could we go to talk now? Everyone is done eating. "

I looked around and realized that I was zoned out for a long time. I nodded and got up from my chair and lead her upstairs.

( Your P.O.V. )

We walked into his room and he shut the door behind me. I sat on his bed and looked at him with a serious expression. 

   " Light. Why haven't you told your family about us dating? "

   " That was very quick. "

   " I want answers. "

   " And you'll get them. "

He sat down beside me and looked at me with calming eyes. 

   " I haven't told them yet, because I haven't had time. "

   " What do mean? "

   " With school and cram school I haven't had time. You can ask Sayu or mom I've had my door locked from when I get home to when I go to bed working. I just haven't had the time and when I have it wasn't the best time. "

   " Then why not tell them today? "

   " I would much rather stay here with you. "

   " You're scared to tell them? "

   " What no. "

   " Then I am not understanding why we don't tell them now. Light it makes me feel like you are ashamed of me. "

   " I'm not. Why are you asking these questions all of a sudden? How did you find out I haven't told them? "

   " Your father. Last night I worked late and was walking home. He saw me when he was driving home and offered me a ride. He asked we had ever tied the knot and I'm smart enough to realize that you didn't tell them. "

   " I just haven't had the right time...We will tell them together one day after exams I promise okay? "

   " Okay. If we don't then I will. I trust you Light, but if we don't after exams I'm going to. "

   " Fine by me. "

I laid back on the bed and stared at his ceiling.

   " Were you wanting to talk to me about something? "

   " I was going to ask how work was going? "

   " Fine. We added on to the blueprint and are expanding wider than what we originally planned. "

Light laid back on his bed beside me and stared at his ceiling. Light held my hand in his as we laid back. He brought my hand up and kissed the back of it. The action made me blush a little bit. 

   " Light? "

   " Yes? "

   " This is weird. "

   " What's weird? "

I leaned on my arm and laid on my side as I looked at him. 

   " This. Us dating. "

   " You mean from the transition from best friends to girlfriend and boyfriend? "

   " Yeah. "

   " Well, I feel that way too, but that's just because we've been best friends for so long and now that we are dating we can look at our lives together in a new perspective. "

   " I guess. I'll get used to it. "

   " You will. I already have. "

   " I'm glad you have. "

   " Hey, I'll be here for you through the process."

   " Thanks. "

He pulled me close and kissed my forehead. He hugged me to him and kept me close to him. 

   " You know we never ended our date officially that time ago. "

   " Oh yeah. Because of that car. "

   ' Actually it was Watari through Ryuzaki's request. '

He leaned back and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. He pulled my closer and my eyes lids fluttered closed. I could feel his breath on my face. Before our lips could connect we heard a knock on the door. I opened my eyes and looked at Light. We were super close. I smiled and started laughing. Light smiled and rolled his eyes at me. He stood up and opened the door to see Mr. Yagami standing there.

   " Yes, dad what did you need? "

   " I think it's time for Y/n to depart. She has other things to do I'm sure. "

   " Y/n? "

   " I actually do Light."

   " Like what? "

   " I have to go home and get ready for school and the bakery business. I took a break today but I have to go back tomorrow. "

   " Can't you work on it here? "

   " I don't know Light. "

   " Please it feels like forever since we have seen each other. "

   " I guess. I could stay longer. "

   " Awesome! "

I stood up and was going to grab some paper off of Light's desk along with a pencil. I grabbed them and walked to the door.

   " I can work on my notes for tomorrow downstairs on the couch. "

    " Thanks for informing us, dad. "

   " Not a problem. I'll leave you two alone. "

His dad left and Light pulled me back into his room by my waist and tossed me on his bed. I laughed at his actions and sat up on the bed. 

   " As you can see there are a lot of interruptions in this house. "

   " I can. Now I gotta get to work. "

   " I'll work at my desk so you can take the bed. "

   " Thanks. "
