( Light's P.O.V. )

   " A letter? Who's it from? "

   " We aren't sure. There are no fingerprints on it, there's no name. "

I took the letter from them and started reading it. When I finished a picture slipped from the page. I picked it up and saw it was a picture of Y/n tied up and laying on a couch.

   " They kidnap Sayu and now they kidnap Y/n. "

   " Thay have? "

   " Yes. "

I showed them all the picture of her tied up. I felt my blood start to boil, from the anger rising inside of my body.

   " What do we do now? " Matsuda asked.

   " We continue with the plan. "

   " With Y/n inside the building!? "

   " Yes, when father makes the deal for the shinigami eyes and everyone invades the building we'll rescue Y/n at the same time. All of them should be dead except maybe two and Mello. Y/n won't be targeted and Mello might take her with him when he tries to avoid the explosions. We will do what we can to find Y/n and get her out of there out of harm's way. "

   " Alright. Let's do it. "

( Lawliet's P.O.V. )

   " So, Mello's taken Y/n. That's not good at all. "

   " It isn't. The NPA has a plan they are going to enact and we can assume they are going to try and rescue Y/n. "

   " What about the SPK? "

   " We will help them in any way we can. "

   " Alright. I trust you Near to get Y/n back safely. "

   " Don't worry, she'll be safe and back home. If Mello survives there is only one possible place he could go and that's here. He'll surely make sure she survives as well so, don't worry about her safety. "

   " Alright. Thank you. "

I ended our call and stood up. I walked over to Watari and started biting my thumb.

   " Watari what do you think of the situation? "

   " I think everything will be fine in the end. "

   " Do you think it was smart of me to hideaway? "

   " Master Lawliet it is up to you. If it makes you feel comfortable no one but the task force has ever seen you. Near and Mello are exceptions of course. "

   " Thanks, Watari. "

I grabbed some ice cream and walked out of the secret room and wandered around the task force building.

( Your P.O.V. )

   ' My head hurts. '

I opened my eyes and looked around. I noticed I wasn't in the park anymore. I was sitting on a silver couch with the same guy who kidnapped me sitting next to me. He had a laptop beside him that viewed camera's around the building.

   ' His name's Mello, I think. '

   " Hello? "

He turned towards me and I noticed he was eating chocolate.

   " Hello, I'm glad you finally woke up. "

   " Where am I? "

   " We are at my Mafia base in L.A. "

   " But I was in Japan..."

   " I have my ways of getting from there to here very quickly. "

   " Apparently. So, let me guess you need me because I worked with L and you can use me as bait. Right or wrong? "

   " RIght. What else? "

   " You also want to use me to get information on what's going to happen because I still work with the task force. "

   " Correct. They were right when they said you were going to succeed L. "

   " I already did. "

   " You did? "

   " Yeah, He said so before he died. He said that my deduction and problem-solving skills met his and they surpassed his from time to time. I would even finish his sentences when he was still alive. We had the same thought process but I would surpass him a few times. "

   " You didn't happen to go to an institution called Wammy's house, did you? "

   " No, I didn't. "

   " It's for grooming talented kids into becoming the next L. By talented I mean brilliantly smart kids. "

   " And? "

   " Most of them are orphaned. Kids whose parents gave them up. They ended up at Wammy's if they were incredibly smart and a kid that could succeed L, the world's greatest detective. "

   " Correct again! You should have been at Wammy's Institution. "

   " My parents didn't want to give me up. "

   " Apparently so, chocolate? "

   " Sure. "

I leaned over and took a bite of his chocolate. They took off the ropes around me and tied up my hands instead. It was only my hands that were tied up. After a few minutes, it was peaceful. But then people started falling on the ground and having heart attacks. Most of them had died except for Mello, myself, and two other people. Two screens on his laptop went static. Mello stood up and grabbed the rope around my hands we started running out of the room.

   " Roy. Skyer. The notebook is under Rod's body. Bring it to the surveillance room upstairs. "

We ran upstairs. I heard an explosion behind us, but I focused on running. Mello didn't stop running and he didn't let go of my roped hands. We went into a room that was filled with darkness. He pressed a button and two explosions were heard. Mello looked at me and held a finger up to his lips signaling for me to be quiet. I looked up and noticed a man in a S.W.A.T. suit standing with his gun's light going around the room.

   " Don't move. I've already blown up the two entrances to this place. This will be your only warning. The next explosion will take out the entire building as well as all of your men inside. So you better do as I say. "

The man took off his head mask and I could see it was Mr. Yagami. Mello lit up the screens behind us and held up his detonator button. Mr. Yagami's eyes found mine.

   " Yagami again, huh? Maybe I should have killed you when I had the chance. History repeats itself. But I never dreamed in a million years, that I would be bargaining for the notebook with you again. "

   " Your real name is Mihael Keehl. "

Mello's eyes turned from one of confidence to confusion. I looked at Mr. Yagami and wondered how he knew that until I realized he made the deal with Ryuk for the shinigami eyes.

   " It's over, Mello. It's time to turn yourself in and hand Y/n over. If you give up I won't kill you. You have my word on that. "

Mr. Yagami opened up the notebook he picked up from Rod's body and held a pen to it.

   " You know how this works. I write your name and you will die. Let go of that trigger, let go of Y/n, and put your hands in the air. "

It was a stalemate. No one moved. It became quiet except for the screens' static noise behind us.

   " Yagami... "

   " Don't move! I've written your first name and it'll only take me a second to write your surname. "

   " I'm truly sorry. For what it's worth, I give you my word that I never wanted to kill you. "

   ' What? '

Again. It was silent. Neither of them moved. Mr. Yagami had his pen ready to write and Mello had his finger on the trigger.

   " But tell me, Yagami. You've never killed somebody before, have you? "

A man on the other side of the room rolled over and grabbed a gun and started shooting at Mr. Yagami.

   " No! Mr. YagamI! "

I tried to run but Mello pulled me back by the rope.

   " Don't go getting yourself shot. "

He was leaned over and the shells hit the floor. When it finally stopped he was still standing. He fell over and his face was one of shock.

   " Jose! The notebook! "

Jose went to Mr. Yagami's body and tried to pry the notebook out of his hands but couldn't. Mello and I ran over to them.

   " This guy. He won't let go of the thing. "

Mello put on a mask with a breathing respirator and he put one on me too.

   " Son of a..."

Jose stopped talking and he sounded strain. Footsteps were heard coming closer. More men appeared in the doorway and shot Jose.

   " It's all over Mello! Put your hands up and surrender. "

I knew these voices. This was the task force themselves. Mello turned towards them and pressed the trigger and explosions started ringing through the building.

( Anyone's P.O.V. )

The building was completely destroyed and ire overtook everything. Light stood from his chair and watched his screens go static. All he could hear was the team asking who was alright and who didn't respond. Mello was able to escape with you but where he went Light won't know. Mr. Yagami was injured beyond belief. He was admitted to a hospital about to die. He died in happiness when he saw Light's lifespan.

   " Light... " was the last thing uttered from his lips before he died there in the hospital bed.
