After a couple of days, the building was built. I had stayed there for two days and worked with the others. Misa enjoyed her own floor and Mogi would watch her from time to time. Security was very tight in the building. Watari was watching the cameras to the security system. Right now I was on my floor looking at the view and thinking of how my life turned to the point it is at now.

   " Used to I worked at a bakery. Now I'm working with the Kira task force to catch a killer. How did I get here? "

( Flashback )

  " Is there something I can do for you? "

  " I would like to buy a whole cake from you. "

  " Okay. I can do that. What type? "

  " Vanilla with strawberries and cream. "

  " Got it. A fresh cake will be ready in 2 minutes. "

  " Thank you. "

I walked to the oven and grabbed the freshly baked cake. I set it on the counter and went to the back to grab a box. When I found one I walked back to the counter.

  " Who makes the baked goods? "

  " I do. "

  " You have my compliments then. They are delicious. "

  " Thanks. I appreciate it. Things have been a little complicated lately so I'm glad to hear the baked goods still taste wonderful. "

  " What troubles are you having? "

  " Nothing I should trouble a stranger with. "

  " Ryuzaki. "

  " Excuse me? "

  " My name is Ryuzaki. There we aren't strangers anymore. "

( Flashback Over )

   " I guess that's how it started. "

I stood up from my spot and traveled to Misa's floor. I Got in the elevator and traveled to her floor and got off. I walked into her living room and I saw Ryuzaki eating a piece of cake. Light was sitting beside him leaning back on the couch. 

   " Man this has gotta be the lamest date I've ever been on. "

   " No, no, no, please. Just pretend I'm not even here, okay? "

I saw Misa wave her hand towards me and I went to sit down beside her. She looked board out of her mind.

   " By the way, are you gonna eat that piece of cake? "

I looked down and saw that Ryuzaki had already finished his slice of cake.

   " Cake makes you fat. I'm not gonna eat any. "

   " Actually, I've found that you don't gain any weight as long as you burn calories by using your brain. "

   " Hm! So now you're calling me stupid? Fine then. I'll give you the piece of cake as long as you agree to leave me and Light alone."

I shook my head and turned to Light as Ryuzaki and Misa kept arguing.

   " You okay? "

   " Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just leaning back and thinking. "

   " What are you thinking about? "

   " How to get out of here. "

   " I can see why. "

   " Okay, then I'll just close the curtains and turn off the lights. " Misa said grinning at Ryuzaki.

   " We have infrared cameras in here as well. "

   " What's wrong with you? I thought moving here was supposed to catch Kira but since we've been here you don't seem all that motivated." Light questioned.

   " Not motivated? You're right. Actually I'm depressed. "

   " Depressed? What for? "

   " Well, truthfully, all this time I thought that you were Kira and my entire case hinged on that fact. I guess I just can't get past the fact that my deduction was wrong. Although having said that, I'm still suspicious of you. That's why we are wearing these."

Ryuzaki pulled up his wrist with the chain on it. I shook my head and looked at him.

   " Ryuzaki we talked about thi-"

   " And we also know Kira can control people's actions. Which means that it's highly likely that Kira was controlling your actions so that I would suspect you. If I assume both you and Misa were both controlled by him, then everything we've observed so far makes a lot more sense to me. "

   " If that's what you're thinking, Misa and I were both Kira during the time we were being controlled right? "

   " Yes, I don't think I could've been wrong about that. The two of you are Kira. If what I'm thinking is correct, when your confinement began you were Kira. I don't believe it's a coincidence that as soon as you were in prison all the killings stopped. Until then, everything pointed to you being Kira, but after two weeks criminals started dying again. Based on that evidence I can only conclude that Kira's power passes between people. "

   "That's an interesting idea. But if that's true, it'll be nearly impossible for us to catch him. "

   " Yes, that's why I'm overwhelmed. "

   " But at this point, we have no way of knowing if that's the case. Cheer up, would ya? "

   " Cheer up? No, I'm sorry I can't. It's probably better if I stop trying so hard. By chasing Kira so desperately we are risking our lives for nothing. Yes, it's just a waste of time. "

I saw Light stand up and sigh. He called for Ryuzaki and before I knew it when Ryuzaki looked at Light, Light punched him. Both Misa and I stood up and Misa screamed. Ryuzaki flew back to the wall and Light followed with him because of the chain.

They both sat up and Ryuzaki looked at Light with blank eyes. The table was flipped over and the glass shattered. Light stood up and glared at Ryuzaki.

   " You know, that really hurt. "

   " That's enough. You don't feel like doing anything, just because your genius deduction was wrong and I'm not Kira? "

   " Fine. Perhaps I phrased it the wrong way. I meant it would be pointless for us to make a move, so we shouldn't even bother. "

    " If we don't catch Kira he will never be caught! Is that what you want? If you were just gonna give up, then why did you involve all of those innocent people? "

He walked up to Ryuzaki and grabbed his shirt and pulled him close and yelled into his face. I grabbed Misa's shoulders and walked back a little. She didn't resist and held on to my arms.

   " More importantly, what was the point of putting Misa and me behind bars and getting Y/n so involved in this it could cost her life? "

   " I understand, but still, whatever the reason..."

Ryuzaki ducked and got out of Light's grip. He positioned himself on the floor with his hands and right leg and kicked Light in the face with a lot of strength.

   " An eye for an eye, my friend. "

Light flew backward and it brought Ryuzaki with him because of the chain. They crashed into the couch together and it fell over. Ryuzaki sat up.

   " It's not my deduction that was wrong. The fact is, I can say that Light Yagami is Kira and Misa Amane is the second Kira, but it won't be enough to solve the case. And that's why I'm a little depressed. Is that so unreasonable? "

   " Yes. Yes, it is. Besides, you should hear yourself. It's as id you won't be satisfied unless I'm Kira. "

   " Well, there may be some truth to that. In fact, now that you mention it, you're right. I think I wanted you to be Kira."

By now they were both standing up and glaring at each other. Light pulled his arm back and punched Ryuzaki square in the face. Ryuzaki stood and didn't fall.

Ryuzaki turned and back kicked Light across the face. They kept fighting and grabbing each other. I decided to step in and stop them. I slipped my arm out of Misa's and walked towards the two. When I got there they had grabbed each other's shirts and were about to punch each other. I slipped between them and started pushing them away from each other.

   " An eye for an eye and the world goes blind! Stop it you two! "

I started pushing with all my strength. Eventually, I let my arms fall.

   ' How strong are these two? '

I was now stuck in between them. I decided on a plan and walked over to Light. I started pushing him. I pushed him and then hooked one of my legs around his. He lost balance and fell. Because of the chain, Ryuzaki started falling forward as well.

   " Oh no, you don't!

I grabbed the cuff that was around Ryuzaki's wrist. I started pulling him away from Light. I hooked my leg around his and made him lose his balance and he fell as well. I let go of the chain and unhooked my leg before I could fall with him. I grabbed the middle of the chain and looked at the two of them.

   " Both of you stop it! This will not solve anything! You've scared Misa and made a mess of her room! Ryuzaki we have talked about this before and I am at as much fault over this as you are but I am still going to keep looking for Kira. I will not die by some maniac killing me because of my name or face. Light, understand that Ryuzaki has never been wrong before! Understand that a small depression is normal for a genius who has just found out he is wrong for the first time since birth. So, both of you stop fighting! "

After I had yelled that it was quiet. Misa still hid behind the tossed over couch. I dropped the chain and shook my head at both of them. I made my way out of the room. I left and took the elevator to the ceiling to get some air.
