" Light! "

I ran to catch up with him. It was the end of the day and he was already walking home which hurt a little bit because we always walk home together. He stopped walking and turned around to face me.

   " Hey, Y/n what's up? "

   " Are you okay? "

   " Yeah, why do you ask? "

   " Well, this morning you left your house early and I walked alone then you're leaving school without me. Are you trying to avoid me? "

   " No! No, no, no! You've got it all wrong. I left early this morning to study more since our exams are getting closer and I was leaving school early because I had to take a call. "

   " Are you sure? Tell me the truth are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong? "

   " No! No! No! You could never do anything wrong. I just had to study. You're fine. I'm sorry I made you feel neglected. "

   " We're just always together and It's lonely without you. "

( Light's P.O.V. )

   ' I feel the same way towards you. '

I gazed at Y/n as the wind blew through her H/c hair. Her eyes held sadness in them and it broke my heart. 

   " Y/n I promise you did nothing wrong and I am not avoiding you. "

   " I'm glad. "

I saw the sadness leave her eyes and they filled with joy. It made me smile to see her happy. I saw Ryuk still following us. I put my phone up to my ear pretending a number was being dialed.

   " I have to make this call. So, please be quiet for a moment. "

   " Alright, but we got to talk about exams. I still need help with math if you don't mind. "

   " Sure. "

I pressed my phone closer to my ear and made sure it looked like I was taking an actual call.

   " Hey, what's up Light we were just going to go-"

   " Sorry, I'm a little bit busy today. "

Y/n and I continued walking as Ryuk started talking.

   " You don't have anything to do. Aren't you just going to go home and hang out in your room as usual? "

   " What are you talking about of course I have something to do. "

We passed by some pink rose bushes and I picked a rose and handed it to Y/n. She smiled with a small blush and gently took the rose from my hand.

   " Yes, something very important. "

I put my phone down and looked at Y/n. I smiled and imagined a world with no violence. A world I would rule with Y/n by my side. 

( Your P.O.V. )

   " When do you want to study? "

   " How about after school? "

   " Sure. Do you want me to come over after I change out of the uniform? "

   " Sounds good. I'll see you at my home later. "

   " Okay. Who was that you were talking to by the way? "

   " Nobody important. Just someone asking if I could hang out with them today. "

   " Wow, Mr. Popular. You're getting more and more popular by the day. "

   " That's a good thing if I'm going to keep the bullies away from you. "

That reminded me of Rai and Horie. When we were able to come back to school everyone talked about it. People said their families were really upset because they died so suddenly with perfectly good health besides their lungs. Their families had the bodies checked and x-rayed to see if it was really a heart attack and all they saw was their terrible lungs from smoking.

   " That reminds me of Rai and Horie. "

   " You aren't feeling sorry for them, are you? "

   " I feel sorry for their families. They are grieving and very sad. Their sons lost their lives for some unknown heart attack. It's weird but I do feel a little sympathy. "

   " Why? I don't feel bad at all. They bullied and tortured you and I hated them for it. "

   " It's true they did bully me very harshly but still maybe they could have turned their lives around in the future. I don't know I just feel sympathy because their classmates and they lost their lives to some heart attack that came so suddenly. "

   " Well, you know how I feel. I'll see you in a few minutes. "

I looked up and realized we were at his house already. I nodded and continued on to my house. I walked inside and said hi to my mom and dad. I walked upstairs and changed into some comfy clothes and grabbed my math textbook and binder.
