"Where's the file?"

"Why isn't the printer working?"

"Where's Zane?"

"Where's my hubby Zane?"

"Did he get fired?"

"NO! I can't live without him! My poor baby."

"SHUT UP!"

This is what you encounter when you arrive to work without coffee. I rubbed my temples and groaned as the girls in the office bickered and everyone around me looked like the pens in their hands were about to be the next weapon of the century. I slumped down against my desk and wanted to slip out of my chair and melt into the floor.

"Hey." I looked up to see his green eyes filled with worry and two cups of coffee in his hands. His dark hair was loose and the top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned and his shirt sleeves had been rolled and pushed past his elbows.

"Morning." I sounded groggy, and ready to go back home and lay back in bed.

"Here's your coffee, you forgot it this morning." He said and smiled happily his face looked to happy this early in the morning. He leaned down as he placed the coffee on my desk and I felt his breath on my ear.

"Was last night too much?" He whispered just so I could hear it.

"I'm going to reject your coffee if you ever bring that up at work again." I scowled at him and was met with his playful smirk. His office was next to mine and he rolled his chair next to mine.

"Oh come on-"

"Why aren't you working Mr. Saffron." I said, I sounded harsher than I meant to and turned to see disappointment in his eyes.

"Sorry I-" I cut him off by a soft kiss. "Mmm, you may have to that again-" I gave him a look and he held up his hands defensively and backed away slowly before returning to his own computer.

The rest of the day seemed to drag on forever. The girls kept giggling and making comments on Zane that made me even question the guy. I turned to him and he widened his eyes and turned away from me and picked up another file and pretended to be so invested in work. It was when they started mentioning inches I accidentally tipped the coffee over and it burned my skin as it splashed against my shirt.

"Jesus love." The girls stopped giggling and I felt his hands on my arms and he looked around frantically. "Hang on one second, why don't you go get cleaned up." He helped me to the bathroom and I felt embarrassed as all the eyes of the office were on me.

I waited in the bathroom for what felt like forever and then I heard his voice on the other side with a soft knock.

"Here love." He handed me another one of my shirts.

"Don't tell me. Did you drive all the way to the-"

"Love please just change." He said desperately. I put it on and I realized he had also put a sack in the bunched up shirt. I threw the coffee stained shirt in the sack and then in the garbage.

"Thank you." I said as soon as I came out and he had his hands on my face concern and worry filled them.

"Does it sting? Are you okay?" He practically overwhelmed me with questions most of them repeated.

"I'm okay Zane." I took his hands in mine and gave him a soft smile he seemed to relax and let out a breath he seemed to have been holding.

"Okay." He pulled me into his chest and held me.

"I still have work you know." My voice was muffled by his stranglehold.

"Yeah, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay." His voice was soft and he kissed the top of my head.

"When we get home can we have left over pizza?" He pulled away and raised an eyebrow.

"Is that what you're thinking about right now? Leftover pizza?" He shook his head in disbelief and kissed my forehead.

"Yep!" I smiled at him and his expression went from worry to relaxed. He looked relieved.

"Okay love." He brushed a piece of hair out of my face and then we walked back to our offices.

"You told them didn't you." I whispered. Realizing the girls were staring at their screens avoiding eye contact.

"Well, I doubt you wanna hear anymore about sizes-"

"Okay I get it." I shoved him a little and sat back down in front of my screen and looked up at his soft green eyes. He bent over and kissed my cheek and I felt his breath on my ear again.

"I love you." He said. I turned to see his dimples and the happiest smile ever.

"I love you too."
