"I'm too old for this." My wife groaned as I pulled her into the car.

"Come on you only get to celebrate your birthday once a year!" I chuckled and saw her dimpled smile on her face as she rolled her eyes.

"Okay." She gave in and got in the car. "Where are we going this time?" She asked and looked out the window as we passed through houses and down the street.

"Somewhere special." I said with a smile on my face and she sighed before leaning back in her seat.

"You say that every year." I heard a light laugh come from her and I drove through the neighborhood.

"Baby." I softly tapped her shoulder and she opened her sleepy eyes to the soft city lights in the distance.

"It's beautiful." She let out a small gasp and leaned over to kiss me on the cheek. "I love it."

"I have more to show you." I haven't her a cheeky smile and got out of the car. She came up beside me with her dimpled smile and wavy hair blowing around in the soft breeze.

That's when I led her to a path that had been set up in advance lines with lanterns and a path of rose petals. Her face lit up as we walked down the path with a meadow of beautiful flowers.

That's when we reached the heart made out of petals and I held her hands as I got down on one knee.

"Do I need to cry again?" She teased and kissed my forehead. I shook my head and smiled at her. Her beautiful honey eyes glittered in the lantern light. Her soft smile with dimples was cute and so loving.

"No, but as always I have a gift." I reached down into my pocket and out a long rectangular box. She took the box and sat down next to me with her head on my shoulder. As she slowly removed the lid.

"It's beautiful." She whispered. She pulled the soft silver locket from the case and ran her fingers over the engraved initials. Then a soft click occurred when she opened the locket. Inside was a picture from our wedding in her beautiful white dress. The happiest day of our lives.

"I thought you might like it." I tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and kissed her cheek.

"I'm gonna wear it forever." A small tear fell from her eye and down her cheek. I wiped it away and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"You're so beautiful." I whispered. She turned to me with a smile and fell on top of me before we both rolled around in the grass.

"I'm so old now." She muttered.

"Old but sexy." I teased and twirled a piece of her hair before she hit my chest playfully.

"Old but still a dork." She mumbled before laying her head on my chest and sighing before looking up at me.

"Look up baby." I tilted up her chin and she rolled over off of me to stare up at the sky.

"You plan the best birthdays." She said in a hushed voice. I pulled her closer to me so she snuggled into my side. Her breathing slowed and I heard her soft snores. I chuckled and kissed her nose before picking her up gently and placing her in the car.

"Another birthday success."
