Olivia's POV

Today is James's last day. It was really fun working with him. He taught me everything there is to know about being Mr. Wright's assistant. Thanks to him, I was pretty confident about this job.

"Okay Liv, one last pop quiz."
"Bring it on!"
"How does he take his coffee?"
"Black, two sugars."
"Good. When does he want his coffee?"
"Two O'Clock and Six O'Clock. If we're working later, Eight O'Clock too."
"Good! When he calls, do you answer?"
"Always."
"What client takes priority over every other?"
"Mr. Smith. Whenever he calls to make an appointment with Mr. Wright, I schedule him ASAP."
"I think you're ready."
"I know I am."

I was gonna miss James. He made working here fun, and less scary. Trinity is in the lobby which is like 7 floors below mine. I'm right here on the top floor, and it would be nice if I had better company. I just have these customer service employees in there cubicles. Most are girls that like the view of Mr. Wright. I'm sitting right in front of his office, so they really just stare at me all day, hoping Mr. Wright would come out of his office, which he never does. He's always holed up in there. His entire office is made of 3 way glass. We can't see him, but he can see us. I personally like working in front of a giant mirror, so I can see if my make up needs retouching. The other girls hate it, because if it were regular glass, they'd be able to see him.

"You know James, I'm going to miss you."
"You're taking my job, how can you miss me?"
"You're the only nice person here. Everyone else acts like I'm not there."
"Get used to it. For what it's worth, I'm gonna miss you too."
"That's good. You have my number, so please text me and tell me how your mother is."
"Will do. Good luck."
"I'm gonna need it."
"You'll be fine."

At the end of the day, I hugged James and kissed him on the cheek goodbye. I went down to the lobby, and waited for Trinity. It was a Friday, so I didn't have work for the next two days. I was supposed to go out with Trinity for a girls' night. When I got down to the lobby, and saw Nikko's car, I knew the plan had changed. I saw Trinity with an apologetic look on her face. I immediately waved it off.

"Liv, I'm so sorry. He called and wanted to know if we could hang out tonight. I told him about girls' night and he kinda invited himself along. I don't get to see him often, so I didn't really argue. It's still gonna be us though, just with an extra."
"Tri, don't even sweat it. I understand that you guys don't see each other very often. We can always have another girls' night. Go ahead and have fun."
"Liv, you are the best. I shouldn't have planned a girls' night on Nikko and I's anniversary, but it completely slipped my mind."
"Today is your anniversary?"
"Yeah. I just wasn't thinking."
"You know, for being a secretary, you really can't remember dates or schedules huh?"
"I think it's fried my brain."
"Oh god. Go and have fun. Call me tomorrow and we could go for lunch or something."
"Thanks, girl. I owe you one."

I was about to walk out of the building, when I remembered that I left my hair scrunchie at my desk. I went upstairs and looked around my desk. It was no where to be found. It's no big deal, because I have my hair in my usual bun with a regular hair tie, the scrunchie just goes over to look nice. I was about to let my hair down, when Mr. Wright comes out of his office.

"Looking for this?"
"Yes! Thank you so much, sir."
"No problem."
"Goodnight, sir."
"Goodnight, Olivia."

I was almost drooling by the end of the conversation. His bright green eyes, messy dark hair, and perfect jawline was enough to distract me. His deep, powerful voice made anything sound great. Now was definitely not the time to get distracted, but what a nice distraction that would be...
