Aiden's POV

Olivia and I have been working together for a few weeks now. After that incident, I made an effort to only talk to her casually. It's so hard to just say hello and thank you. I want to talk to her, and see how she's liking my company. After looking at her all day, I decided to turn my attention on my desk. I see a headline on the homepage of the internet about my company.

"Wright Inc. is the only corporation to not be affiliated with a charity. Is Mr. Wright that stingy?"

I see clients withdrawing their business with me, and I don't know what to do. Olivia comes in to bring me my last cup of coffee. I look up, and smile.

"Olivia, would you mind staying late tonight?"
"Not at all, sir. Would I be the only one staying, or should I let evryone else know as well?"
"Just us tonight, thank you."

Just the two of us, in the entire building together. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. I couldn't think about that. Right now, I need to focus on the headline. Losing clients is not an option. I called the newspaper, and they said they had the freedom of press and could say whatever they want. It was true, we aren't partnered with any charities. I am in no way stingy or cheap. I don't know how to fix this. I guess I'll have Olivia be calling places tonight to try and see what we could do.

It was nine o'clock. Everyone was going home. The phone wouldn't stop ringing. Olivia's phone was off the hook from reporters asking for a comment from me. Olivia declined every one until I figured out a way to fix it. Olivia came into my office with two cups of coffee. I smiled, and gratefully took one.

"Sir, would you mind telling me why we're working late?"
"You didn't hear?"
"No. I just know it must be huge if reporters are calling."
"Well a newspaper launched a story that I'm cheap and stingy because Wright Inc. isn't partnered up with a charity. This is a company scandal."
"I hate to say this, sir but I was thinking the same thing before I worked here."
"Okay. Now I need to find a way to fix this."
"May I offer a suggestion, sir?"
"By all means, I need all the help I can get right now."
"Well I was thinking the obvious answer. You find a charity and give them money."
"That would be simple, but it's going to look like I just joined a charity to smooth it all over and I don't really care about the cause which would make me look worse."
"Then you give a public speech. The whole, I waited so long to pair up with a charity because I really wanted to make sure that this was a cause I support."
"Hmm so say that I was in the middle of deciding between a bunch of charities and that I finally made my choice."
"Exactly. You come out looking great, and some charity gets money for their cause. It's a win-win."
"Whatever business school you went to should get a whole bunch of money."
"It wasn't the school, but the teacher."
"Well they were very good. Thank you for the help."
"It is what you pay me for, sir."
"That's true. So what organization are we going to be partnering with?"
"It's your money, sir. You should choose the charity."
"Well I was thinking we could work with the Children's Foster Charity."
"So you want to work with the less fortunate children? I think that's great."
"Okay, so could you call them and set up a donation?"
"How much would you want to donate, sir?"
"Half a million."
"Half a million dollars?"
"Yes."
"Okay. That's very generous, sir."

Olivia walked over to her phone, and called the children's charity. She twirled the cord with her fingers, and bit her lip waiting for the phone to ring. Finally someone answered.

"Hello. My name is Olivia Hamilton, and I'm the personal assistant to Mr. Aiden Wright, the CEO and founder of Wright Inc. Mr. Wright has expressed interest on donating to a charity for sometime and just couldn't decide which to choose. He's decided that he would like to donate half a million dollars to your cause."
"Half a million dollars? That's so generous. Please extend to Mr. Wright our gratitude."
"Absolutely. How we go about donating the money?"
"Well we could host a little charity gala and expose the cause to more people and Mr. Wright would of course be the guest of honor and he could present the check there."
"That sounds wonderful! When would this take place?"
"This weekend? Saturday night at the Courtyard?"
"Wonderful. Thanks so much."
"No thank you."

Olivia got up and filled me in on the news. I knew all the good press a charity gala would bring the company. I was so happy, I could kiss her. I won't, but I could.

"Olivia, you have to attend the gala with me."
"Why?"
"I obviously need a date, you helped make it all possible, and you are my assistant so if anything were to go wrong, it would be your job to fix it."
"What if I had plans on Saturday night?"
"Do you?"
"Yes. I do actually?"
"Well cancel."
"Why would I do that?"

Because I want to see you more than just outside my office windows. I looked at her, and realized I couldn't say that. She raised her eyebrow at me, almost as if to challenge me. I put my hands around her waist, and lifted her up onto the desk. I stopped thinking all together, and kissed her. She looked confused, but went with it. It was unprofessional, but I didn't care.
