Jimin and Hoseok hadn't moved an inch from Jimin's bed. Both of them were frozen, staring at the ceiling under the blanket.

They were scared shitless.

But Jimin had a theory: So the two doors opened to the same place. Which meant they both were the same.

There had been no new arts room right from the beginning.

But some things still didn't make sense.

What did the numbers mean? What did the paintings mean? Wait, could it be Taehyung who killed Yoongi? Was Jimin imagining all these things? Or was there another killer who was doing all the murders and covering it up with a ghost story?

Jimin groaned and nuzzled his face under the blanket.

But suddenly he remembered something.

"Hoseok!" he called out. His best friend craned his neck, that horrified expression still on his face. "What was Yoongi's dorm number?"

"18." Hoseok replied in a small voice.

"But the warden said it's 15. How did he even know it when the number changed right in front of me?"

Hoseok frowned at that.

"Maybe it didn't change just for you. Maybe it changed for anyone who looked at it. Maybe it changed completely after Yoongi died."

Well, Jimin didn't expect that...

"What do you mean?"

"Think about it, that warden didn't even know who lived there. He's a new warden. He only knew the dorm number of Yoongi because a death was taken place. Because the police had the records. Maybe nobody even noticed the numb—"

"The numbers change when a person dies in that room."

Jimin's eyes widened in realisation.

Taehyung was that student who killed himself last year! Because it was him in the old arts room.

"Taehyung died and the arts room number changed! Yoongi died and his room number changed! Everyone knows that his dorm number is 15 because that's when everyone even noticed—when he died. Dorm number 15 is where the death happened. But it is actually dorm 18."

Hoseok stared at him.

"So you're saying the number changed after Yoongi died and that's why people don't remember his old number?"

"Exactly. Not everyone knows Yoongi's room number like us. But I know something that could show us if we're true. Hand me my laptop."

Jimin said and sat up, preparing himself. Hoseok grabbed the laptop from the mahogany desk and handed it to Jimin. Jimin cracked his knuckles before hacking into his college records.

"Woah! you can hack?"

"How do you think I got the room right beside Yoongi's a couple months ago? I'm not a computer tech student for nothing."

Hoseok gave him an impressive look as he watched Jimin hack into the school records.

"Here it is. The number may have changed and everyone may have known the new number. But this record was made a year ago when Yoongi joined the college. The old number should be here. Let's see if we are right."

There in front of them was the list of people and their dorms a year ago.

Jimin put his finger on the screen as he scrunched his eyes and skimmed to find Yoongi's name.

"So we're right! 18 was Yoongi's number! 15 is the number after his death that the door showed us! So the numbers do change after a death!"

Jimin beamed, happy he was right.

"So you're right." Hoseok hummed. Jimin nodded. "Also, why is a lot of rooms vacant?" Hoseok piped.

"Because this college is less populated and most of the students come by bus. The rarest few of them stay here. That's why."

Hoseok hummed in understanding but suddenly stopped.

"Uh Jimin?"

"Yeah?"

"If room number 15 is the new number. What about the actual room 15?"

"But the list said it's vacant."

"Yeah but that was a year ago. What if someone moved in after? What if someone is there now?"
