The search party for Octavia Blake was not the conventional alliance of people from the camp but all of them were well aware of what they could possibly find in the forest. They were on the look out for Grounders and the last person they expected to see was Winnie Scarfone despondent and lying alone on the forest floor.

It was Raven that saw her first and if she had a weapon she probably would have shot it, "Bellamy! Over here!" She called, keeping herself at a safe distance from the girl, "Is it Octavia? Because she looks-"

"Oh my god!" Clarke knew Winnie as soon as she laid eyes on her and wasted no time in rushing towards her. A manifestation of her guilt, "It's Winnie." She declared when she reached her, her voice grave.

Finn and Bellamy who were leading the way hadn't even noticed the body on the floor but came running. Bellamy hung back but Finn was not going to do such a thing, he shook off Raven's hand that tried to stop him.

It was when Finn crouched down next to Winnie that the witch responded to the circumstances. She kept her eyes closed but rolled herself into a smaller ball, a fetal position.

"Is she alive?" Bellamy asked in a way that nobody knew what he wanted the answer to be.

Clarke carefully tried to unwrap her arms from around her legs and Winnie didn't put up any fight. But even then Clarke kept her touch light and tried not to think about he events that put the scars on her skin.

"Just," Finn answered, "But she looks like hell."

"I thought she was hell." Raven let out a little laugh, she had been listening to some of the gossip from camp. And those proud of the hanging liked to make themselves out as freedom fighters and painted the portrait of Winnie the black sorceress to anyone that listened.

"Quiet." Bellamy told her.

Clarke turned to Finn as she carefully pulled away her t-shirt from her back and shoulders. The sight made bike rise up in the blonde's mouth but she breathed a sigh of relief, "Look, seaweed," She pointed to the stained area of her skin, "I never thought I'd be so relieved to see the colour green."

"I'd never thought I'd be relieved to see Winnie." Finn joked, it was true. Both him and Clarke were relieved beyond measure that she was still alive. But there was a feral nature creeping up into her existence.

He tried to shake her slightly but got a minimal response. Bellamy now decided he would come over and he had to hide his own relief that the witch was alive, however, the circumstances were what annoyed him.

"Where's Murphy?" He asked rhetorically. If that son of a bitch has left her then so help him God, he would kill him and if he was already dead then he would kill him again.

"Some boyfriend, leaving her here." Raven commented but everyone knew it was a dig towards Clarke and Finn. They both tried to ignore her.

"Some friends she had as well." Clarke traced the rope burn along her neck, she never meant it to go that far. Never.

But the first question had a bigger weight to it. Would they bring her back if she was alone? Is Murphy the one that died?

"I don't think he would have left her." Finn said with a worried look on his face. Anything could have happened, it had been six days since they were banished. Winnie was lucky to be alive.

"I bet that son of a bitch did." Bellamy muttered.

"Unlike you to care." Clarke retorted at Bellamy.

"Sorry, last time I checked we both banished them."

"And last time I checked it was you that hanged her? We all saw you kick that box Bellamy, we all saw that look in your eye."

There was only one thing the camp did not talk about and that was the hanging. People mentioned it but nobody explained it, nobody relived the day and the tiny details they all saw. Because then they would think about the fear in the pairs eyes as they sentenced them to death and Bellamy's actions.

"And we all saw that gun pointed at Octavia. I did what I had to do."

"She would never have shot Octavia."

It took them all some time and convincing by Octavia herself but they saw the tears and desperation as Winnie aimed. They watched her hand shake and they saw what really triggered the gunshot, her sudden loss of footing. Her hanging.

"So you would have saved her then!"

Bellamy didn't say the statement as a quasi on but that didn't stop Clarke and Finn from answering, "Yes." They said it at the same time.

"She hated me and I don't exactly like her but she didn't deserve that Bellamy, neither of them deserved that." Clarke told him.

"One of them deserved it. I wasn't planning on letting Winnie die." Bellamy replied. He didn't want to admit to that, he had been so angry that day that he couldn't even remember it at all. He only knew he had kicked that box because of the guilt he felt afterwards.

"Well, I'm glad I didn't count on you keeping that little promise. Because it didn't look like you were exactly waiting to cut her loose." Clarke commented, she couldn't believe the excuse.

"You know nothing Clarke." Bellamy threatened, what happened that day was between him and Winnie. He knew that despite everything he would have saved her.

"A brother killing a boyfriend to get the throne," Finn stood up and placed a finger against Bellamy's chest, "That's pretty messed up don't you think. Not to mention the sister threatening to kill the other sister. That's messy."

"So a guy dating two girls at once isn't?" Bellamy fired back, pushing Finn out of his way and flexing his hands at his sides.

"Enough! Both of you," Raven pushed them apart and stood between the pair. She had the advantage of coming in afresh to the situation and to here, there was only one question here, "We're looking for Octavia. That why we're here and that's not her so there's only one question. What do we do now?"

They all looked at each other, nobody wanting to speak and deal yet another death sentence on one of their own.

"We banished her, we can't exactly-" Clarke had begun to say but was interrupted by Winnie. She was beginning to come around after fainting from the drugs in her system.

She groggily tried to raise her head but it was no use. It slammed back onto the floor, "Bellamy..." She said the last name she had been talking about.

The group fell silent, a strange chill travelled between them all until it finally rested on Bellamy. Winnie looked exactly like she did after she crashed down from her noose, he couldn't look at her.

Clarke hastily began to straighten Winnie out and even did something that she never expected, she pulled the witch onto her lap to tend to her, "Winnie? Winnie, can you hear me?"

"We need to go." Raven suddenly did not hang around, Winnie was not there responsibility anymore.

"We're not leaving, look at her!" Finn said to Raven and in concern joined Clarke in caring for the witch.

"Blake..." She was opening her eyes now although the light gave her a headache and she twisted her face away, "Go..." Her voice trailed into the oblivion as faintly as it came.

"We need to wake her up fully... Bellamy give me your bottle of water," Clarke held out her hand but her accomplice didn't move, "Now!" She shouted and Bellamy slowly passed it to her.

Instantly without a doubt in her mind Clarke emptied the container onto Winnie's face and her eyes opened within a second and she bolted up as if she was in the middle of being attacked. It startled all of them as they had never seen a person look so frantic.

"Oh my god, I've died and gone to Heaven," Winnie stared wide eyed at all of them and watched as they reciprocated the face, "Shit...." She muttered.

"Winnie you haven't..." Clarke began to say, trying to find the right words to explain that they were all actually alive and also trying to comprehend what kind of predicament Winnie was in before they found her for her to believe she was dead.

Winnie's laugh made them all uncomfortable except for her, she still felt so lightheaded and why were there two Finns? And since when did Clarke's voice sound a lot like a fog horn that wouldn't shut up? "I'm just playing with you Clarke."

Clarke tried to smile.

"No, I know I'm in Hell that's why you're all here," Winnie continued falling back onto the floor and closed her eyes.

Clarke stopped smiling.

"Still playing with you Clarke." Winnie didn't even move or open her eyes, the high still running through her.

"What the hell is wrong with her?" Raven asked and braved another step closer.

Finn has an inkling and proved it by leaning forward and flicking up one of Winnie's eyelids. It was bloodshot with unnaturally small pupils which didn't even react to the sunlight or Finn's inspection. Winnie did however, she grabbed his hand before he even knew she was alert.

"Touch me again without my permission and I will end you Spacewalker."

"Same old Winnie." Bellamy chuckled slightly but immediately wished he hadn't.

He didn't think he could have seen a more crazed person then the Winnie they put on that box to hang but Bellamy was wrong. This Winnie with drugs in her system was something else completely.

"Run." She barked at her brother.

"Look Winnie... we didn't exactly-" Bellamy continued having no idea how he was going to finish the sentence. He wanted to apologise but then Winnie suddenly was standing in front of him, his throat dried up as he watched the girl become a person he didn't recognise.

She wore only a vest and Bellamy had never seen such bruised and battered skin before. It looked like it would hurt with every movement, small or large and he tried to pry his eyes away but they remained locked.

"You need to go Bellamy." She said it with more authority this time and broke their barrier pushing against him with her hands on his shoulders, but they held little force, like a child. Her words however those were clear, she was warning her own flesh and blood.

"There something in her system," Finn tried to explain but then he thought again, Winnie always acted like something was wrong, like it wasn't just her in her mind, "She's delirious."

"No," Winnie banged on Bellamy's chest again, "No, I'm not Bell, you need to leave now. Go. It's not safe."

Bellamy made the quickest decision he had ever made in his life. He had made a mistake and now he had to make it right.

"No," He grabbed her hand and she winced, he began to pull her away with him, "We need to go. All of us, come on."

They were heading back the way the group had come, Finn was the first to follow. He didn't want to stick around here anymore then he had to, Clarke debated with herself for a moment before deciding that she had to be the bigger person.

"Are you crazy?" Raven was the only one to object, "She cursed the camp, she practises witchcraft, she is the daughter of a mafia leader for crying out loud. You cannot be serious! We banished her and Murphy, she can't just come back to camp."

Bellamy didn't even grant Raven the satisfaction of looking at her, "She's Winnie. That's enough to let her back into camp. And Raven, that we had nothing to do with you."

"She'll die out here if she's alone," Clarke commented, "We can't leave her, not like this. The Grounders will eat her alive."

Raven was debating about whether to say a statement she would never be able to take back. That Winnie deserved it.

However she didn't have the chance to say it as the group realised they had company. A fog horn sounded, just like it did on that fateful hunting trip, and it was accompanied instantly by the sound of rustling leaves and heavy steps on the ground.

"Grounders." Clarke spoke out of fear, "They've found us again, look we need to go. Now!"

Winnie had been too busy trying to figure out if she recognised the sounds of the intruder, mentally trying to compare them to Murphy but all that achieved was giving her a headache a second later. It was as she was being dragged away by her brother that Clarke's words finally hit home for her, "Again? What do you mean again?"

Clarke looked at Winnie with the most confused look in the world, "I mean again. They have been hunting us ever since we left the camp."

That's when Winnie knew something was wrong because two pieces of information managed to make it past her mind fog. Crucial information that screamed at her; where in Hell is Murphy? And why hadn't they seen any Grounders?

They had never been attacked, not even caught a glance of them, never stumbled into their territory. Somehow the pair had never angered them? That seems unlikely. Or just plain good luck.

"Winnie we need to hurry up." Bellamy told her, the witch hasn't realised that she remained rooted to her spot, staring in the direction the noise was coming from. She begged it to be Murphy but at the same time she would have loved it to be anyone but him.

If it was Murphy then he was coming to kill Bellamy, that was clear. But it wasn't in that direction that the arrow was fired from.

The arrow that struck Finn's hand as he ushered Winnie to move came somewhere from above and it wasn't even able to fully burrow into Finn's flesh before another one sailed past Bellamy, the feather on the back grazed his cheek, deeper than a paper cut but not one to make any lasting damage.

Winnie sunk to the floor like a rock in a pond, not caring about opening her wounds or anything. This person - and in her delirious state Winnie almost thought it was a guardian angel -  knew how to aim and they could kill any of the party if they wanted to. Maybe not an angel, Winnie thought, and then it came to her, Lucifer.

The rest of them followed suit, Finn trying to cover Clarke's body with his in protection but another arrow managed to sail silently through the air and land exactly on the bit of exposed flesh between her t-shirt and jeans. She yelled in pain, breaking the silence none of them had realised formed between them all.

"Nobody move." Bellamy whispered.

"Wasn't really planning on it." Raven did not sound impressed.

The archer was playing with them, getting closer and closer to vital arteries and organs as they liked to. Winnie thought about it, Raven hadn't been hit and neither had she. Why? They were sitting ducks, the perfect targets to act as play things but they couldn't move.

And then another arrow was fired, Raven didn't sense it but she knew how close it had been to her skull. It was only later that she would see the chunk of hair missing from her head and the almost razor like finish the arrow had left.

Their enemy had the advantage and finally the attacker had marked all of their opponents. Winnie lay there unhurt and that's when she knew that this person was truly playing a game but only for her. Winnie was the target. At first she thought she was being conceited, the world didn't revolve around her but as she lay there still with the substances in her veins, she remembered how people tried to manipulate her father. They hurt everyone around him and occasionally they would kill as many on the periphery to gain access to the centre.

"Thanks," Winnie was lying next to Bellamy but she didn't stay as he tried to decipher the meaning behind the words and reached out to grab her hand, "But no thanks."

Winnie couldn't run so her staggering away was as close as she could get, Bellamy forgot about the archer for one moment and stumbled upwards. If he was one second quicker the arrow lying in his path would have been lodged in his foot.

Bellamy watched his sister but she never turned back, he didn't know what was going on; why she would choose to remain alone, ready to die. But in the distance he saw her meet with another figure and he watched the rage that filled the not so mysterious person. Winnie held him back and although Bellamy couldn't see the details, he felt the spear being pointed not just in his direction but directly at his chest. He had Winnie to thank that it never made it there.

"Let's find Octavia." Bellamy declared.

Clarke and Finn were too busy nursing their injuries to think about Winnie. Raven however had only come out of this meeting with a bigger sense of determination.

"Something isn't right about her, she's a psycho."

Bellamy grabbed Raven by the shirt and balled it in his fist, bringing her uncomfortably close to him and his sneer, "Don't ever call my sister that again."
