Jungkook starts his usual competition routine when he arrives to the event site. The weather is gorgeous with the sun shining brightly making the snow glisten below him. He heads to his designated tent with Namjoon by his side, occasionally high fiving and wishing the other snowboarders good luck as they return to sentiment.

"So what's the plan?" Namjoon asks as he usually does.

"First run the safe jump. Depending on how that scores I'll go harder for the second. And third is-"

"Go big or go home," they say in unison before both laughing. Once they've calmed down, Namjoon is quick to pull the younger into a hug, squeezing him tightly through their puffer coats.

"I'm so proud of you Kookie," Namjoon says when he pulls back, putting both hands on either side of Jungkook's shoulder. "No matter the results, you're the best athlete in my eyes."

"Thanks hyung," Jungkook says with a big smile before lunging into another hug making them both laugh harder.

"Okay enough feelings. You're going sixth, so right in the middle. Should probably do your warmups now. You know how quick these runs can be and there are only twelve of you total."

Jungkook nods with a big grin, so thankful for Namjoon being his constant support system for everything. He focuses his attention on his warmup and before he knows it, the finals have begun.

As he ascends to the top of the slope, his mind drifts to Jimin. He can't help but want the skater to be at the bottom of the jump like he was last weekend. He knows it is wishful thinking, but he can't stop the small part of his heart that still really wants Jimin to be his.

Once at the top, it is time to focus. Jungkook takes his place to the back, waiting for the fifth boarder to do his turn before taking his place at the starting spot. The signal the guy before him that he can go and he does, Jungkook quickly taking his preferred starting point for his first jump.

With the signal he can go and a deep breath, Jungkook is flying down the slope towards the ramp. He does his trick, his landing a bit bumpy but stable still as he stutters to a stop at the bottom. He is met with many strangers looking at him from the other side of the barricade, some cheering for him as he steps out of his board and waves to them politely. He scans the crowd as he steps over to the score announcement zone and sees no familiar face besides Namjoon's.

Shouldn't get my hopes up.

Jungkook leans against his board as he waits for his score patiently. It is quickly announced to him and he feels his stomach drop a bit.

74.75

He tries his best to remain neutral with his reaction until he heads for Namjoon, worrying his bottom lip as he steps past the barricade.

"Hey still a good first jump," Namjoon says quietly.

"That score is lower than the qualifiers version," Jungkook confides.

"And only your first jump of three. You always do better when you go big anyway."

Jungkook nods, lifting his head to look off in the distance which is when he sees a familiar person walking into the crowd.

"Hyung! Taehyung is here!" Jungkook whispers, pointing in the direction he saw the man.

"Okay and?"

"Maybe Jimin-hyung is here," Jungkook says with a hopefully tone and look in his eye.

"Maybe. But stay focused okay?" Namjoon says, patting his shoulder as a sign to follow him. With a nod he does, looking back over his shoulder for any chance at seeing the skater.

The first round is done and Jungkook is currently fourth. He knows that his competitors are going to start taking risks so he shouldn't get comfortable. His second run is next and as he is at the top of the slope looking down only one thought comes to mind.

Do it like Jimin is watching.

He doesn't hesitate once given the signal, pushing off immediately as he speeds down the hill. He can already tell that this run is going to be better and as he launches into the air, he locks into the perfect position as his body spins the necessary rotations. As his board meets the snow again, he gains his balance quickly for a clean finish.

He is already looking around the crowd while he is stuttering to a stop, quickly pulling off his goggles for better visibility. But he doesn't see Jimin. Not even Taehyung and he feels his heart drop. He shakes his mind of it as he takes his position to hear his scores.

86.75

With a sigh of relief and a huge grin, he turns to where Namjoon always is. His face quickly flips to confusion though when he sees not only Namjoon waiting for him but also Taehyung. He opens his mouth, about to ask the obvious question, but it is already answered when a third person appears between them.

"Hi," Jimin says meekly, clearly nervous over what this interaction will be.

"Hi," Jungkook parrots, stepping around the barricade and quickly handing his board to Namjoon before pulling Jimin into a hug.

"What are you-"

"I'm sorry. I'm so so so so sorry hyung. Please believe me when I say I never wanted clout and never, ever want to break your trust. I should have known better and I'm sorry."

"Kookie no. I'm sorry," Jimin mumbles, a little overwhelmed at the quick apologies and tight embrace.

Namjoon clears his throat, causing both of them to separate and look at him.

"Tent Kook-ah," he says simply, handing back the board. Jungkook just gives him a nod before grabbing Jimin's hand and pulling him along to their designated tent in the athlete only zone.

"Jungkook you don't have to apologize. I'm the asshole," Jimin says shakily once in the tent alone. "I know you would never break my trust, but I was so overwhelmed with everything and honestly I'm so scared."

"Scared of what?" Jungkook asks softly, closing the distance between them and resting his hands on the elder's shoulders.

"Of this. Of feelings. I-I don't know what I'm doing or feeling when around you and I panic. I haven't let myself have feelings in years and it scares me," Jimin rambles, getting choked up at the end. "And then I said those horrible things to you, and I could see how bad it hurt but I didn't know what else to do and-"

"Shhhh hyung," Jungkook whispers, pulling Jimin into another hug while the elder softly cries. "We both said some hurtful things. Please don't beat yourself up over this. We can move on."

Jimin nuzzles into Jungkook more, letting his even breathing calm his nerves down. They stand there quietly in each other's arms until Jimin pulls back slightly.

"I do," he whispers, looking up into the patient doe eyes he thought he'd lost.

"Do what?" Jungkook whispers back, getting lost in the fondness in Jimin's eyes.

"Have feelings for you."

"Kook-ah it's time," Namjoon's voice says from outside the tent. Jungkook didn't even have time to react to Jimin's confession before being rushed out to ascend the slop.

"Promise you won't go anywhere. Promise you'll be here when I'm done," Jungkook says quickly to Jimin before being fully pulled away.

"I promise," Jimin assures softly, smiling fondly at the younger.

Jungkook is buzzing with excitement now. He couldn't keep still waiting to take his last run. He practically jumped into his starting spot, feeling the most confident he ever has at a competition. He is signaled to go and with a smirk he whispers, "Go big or go home."

Jungkook's greatest moments happen in slow motion, and this was one of those times. His descent down the slope felt like time stood still. He starts the spin as he gets propelled off the ramp, pulling his arms in tightly to maintain speed for the rotations. As he starts to come down and his board hits the snow, he bends his knees low and tightens his center to keep his balance with the help of extending his arms.

It's not until he has stuttered to a stop at the bottom that he feels like he is back to real time. The loud cheers of the crowd bring him back to reality and he is quickly guided to the score announcement zone as usual. He catches Jimin standing with Namjoon, smiling brightly at him and that feels like gold to the younger.

89.5

"What?!" Jungkook says, unsure if he heard the announcement correctly. He whips around to one of the screens that display it and there it is: 89.5.

Holy shit.

Jungkook is stunned while other boarders are clapping his back in congratulations for the score. He is brought out of his trance when event staff starts rambling instructions to him, taking his board and passing it to Namjoon while ushering him to a seating area that reminds him of the kiss and cry.

"Where are they taking him?" Jimin asks Namjoon while watching Jungkook be escorted in the opposite direction.

"He's currently in first. Since this is the final run for everyone, they have the top three sit there while the competition finishes. Basically an easy reaction spot."

"Oh," Jimin replies, worrying his bottom lip while watching Jungkook in a shocked state talk to the other competitors sitting with him. "How many more runs are there?"

"Six more and then we will know," Namjoon answers, eyes on the slope as the next competitor starts his run. Jimin can feel himself getting antsier the longer he has to wait and watch the other snowboarders do their tricks. He wants to be there for Jungkook like Jungkook always has been for him.

"Last one," Namjoon mutters nervously. While second and third have switched to new people, Jungkook is still sitting in first. Jimin's knuckles have turned white from gripping the barricade so tight and Taehyung has been trying to get him to relax unsuccessfully.

As soon as the man has touched down on the snow, Jimin has stopped breathing in anticipation. His eyes are trained on Jungkook who looks nearly terrified, even though that no matter what he will medal.

Jungkook is white knuckling his beanie in his hands, keeping them low to be out of sight of the cameras trained on him currently. He chews on his bottom lip mercilessly, eyes closed shut as he waited for the announcement.

Jungkook can't even here the score because the crowd is screaming already.

Fuck he must have beat me.

He opens his eyes to see a bunch of people looking at him then. Before he can ask or think about what is happening, he sees Jimin jumping the barricade in front of him and throwing his arms around the younger.

"You did it!" Jimin says, now straddling Jungkook to better hug him closely.

"Did what?" Jungkook has to ask, still stunned and confused.

"You won! You got gold!" Jimin sits back and is absolutely beaming, his smile so big his eyes close to a crescent moon shape.

Fuck seriously?!

I did it?!

"Congrats baby!" Jimin says excitedly, holding Jungkook's face in his mittened hands.

"I-I want to kiss you. Please can I-" Jungkook babbles, the pet name and the news filling his mind with ecstasy.

Jungkook is cutoff by Jimin pressing his lips to the younger's passionately. He is momentarily stunned by the action, but quickly returns the eager kiss as he wraps his arms around Jimin's waist to pull him closer. Neither of them hear the cheers and catcalls towards them as they are lost in their own world together in that moment.

"Please be mine hyung," Jungkook says breathlessly between kisses. "I want you so bad. Be mine."

"I'm yours," Jimin whispers back before kissing Jungkook again. Jungkook is quick to deepen the kiss, relishing this incredible moment that he never expected to happen.

"Okay, okay," Namjoon says playfully, his dimples on full display with how happy he is. "You two can be in love later."

Jimin laughs airily before standing and moving to Jungkook's side as the younger stands to hug both Namjoon and Taehyung. Cameras are quick to record and photograph ever moment, and interviewers are already squeezing in to bombard Jungkook with questions.

"I'll see you after okay?" Jimin whispers to Jungkook with a gentle squeeze of the younger's bicep.

"Okay," Jungkook replies, quick to peck Jimin on the cheek and watch him blush as he walks away with Taehyung.

"Did you ever expect this to happen at your Olympics debut?" an interviewer asks, shoving the microphone towards Jungkook who is still watching Jimin.

"Never."

"How was this experience for you?"

Jimin looks over his shoulder then stopping to turn back around with a brilliant smile on his face to blow a kiss towards the younger.

"Better than I could have ever imagined."
