I arrive at Jex's place at 6 PM on the dot and park my car in the driveway. I step out and make my way up the stairs, quickly ringing the doorbell once I reach the door.

Tonight I'm dressed in black skinny jeans and a simple strappy top, in light pink. On my feet are my Gucci sneakers, and tonight I decided to tie my hair back in a messy bun.

The front door opens, revealing Jex who is wearing a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, his usual black ripped jeans and sneakers.

"Am I under dressed?" I question, looking down at my outfit.

"Not at all, you look beautiful," he smiles, as he holds the door open for me.

"Are you sure?" I ask, as I enter the house. "I can go home and change?"

"Honestly Bella you're dressed perfectly for where we're headed, I'm over dressed, but I wanted to look worthy of having you on my arm," he shrugs.

"Oh my god you're so cute," I giggle softly.

"Awww thanks," he says, acting all shy before grinning down at me. "So, you ready to go or what?"

"Yeah of course, where are we going?"

"You don't do well with surprises do you?"

"I like to know what's coming next; so no," I shrug with a smile.

"You'll have to wait and see when we get there," he makes his way into the kitchen and grabs his phone, wallet and keys, then makes his way back over. "Lets go."

...

"You're really not going to tell me where we're going?" I whine from passenger's side.

"Bella, it's been five minutes, give it a second and we'll be there," he chuckles softly, keeping his eyes on the road.

I stare out the window, looking around and taking in everything I see, trying to work out where we may be going.

I then spot a large Ferris wheel out in the distance ahead, it's all lit up high in the night sky, and it's spinning slowly.

"Is that where we're headed?" I ask with a huge smile.

Jex looks over at me, as we come to a stop at the red light and shakes his head with a grin. "You're killing me here."

The light goes green and Jex continues driving. We get closer and closer to the large Ferris wheel, until we reach the large fair ground and I smile over at him. "We're really going to the fair?" I ask in an excited tone.

"Of course we are," he nods and parks the car.

"I can't remember the last time I came to the fair," I tell him truthfully. "I'm so excited right now."

Jex steps out of the car as do I, we both close the doors and he locks the car, then makes his way over and wraps his arm around me. "Let's go then."

We reach the gate and stand in the long, but fast moving, line of people. As we stand waiting I look around at all of the rides and stalls inside. I feel myself turning into a child again, I'm so excited to be here.

"Two tickets please and a book a ride tokens," Jex tells the lady behind the makeshift counter, as we reach the front of the line.

"Fifty dollars please," she smiles.

Jex hands her the money, in return she hands us our wrist bands and book of ride tickets.

We then make our way inside, not wanting to hold up the line. I get my wallet out and pull a fifty dollar note out and hold it out to Jex.

"Don't be silly," he shakes his head and pushes my hand back towards me gently.

"Jex really, take it, you've already paid for dinners, my drinks at the club and for my taxi the other day."

"I invited you Bella, I want to pay," he shakes his head.

"I'd put your money away, this one is as stubborn as hell," a male voice laughs.

I look up and see a good looking male with short dark hair and tattoos, and a stunning female with long, jet black hair headed towards us. Both of them are dressed in jeans, sneakers and casual looking shirts.

"Bella this is my friend Malcolm and his girlfriend Alyssa," Jex introduces us.

"Hi, nice to meet you," I give them both a soft smile.

"You too," Alyssa smiles back.

"Really though, put your money away girl, Jex is loaded anyway," Malcolm jokes.

I look up at Jex who shrugs with a smirk and I sigh softly, placing the money back in my wallet and into my bag. I'll work out a way to give it to him later.

"Where too first?" Malcolm questions.

"Ferris wheel?" Alyssa suggests.

"Sounds good," Jex nods.

Together we make our way toward the Ferris wheel, there is lots to see along the way, lots of stalls with things like show bags, clothing, home made items for sale and then, of course, all of your win a toy set ups like balloon darts, shooting targets, bean bag toss, basketball, all of those kind of things.

We reach the line for the wheel and it moves quickly, letting people on and off before continuing its motion. Once we reach the front of the line, Jex hands over some tickets and we step into the swinging cage.

As I take my seat, I feel my heart starting to race and my palms becoming sweaty.

"You okay?" Jex questions, as he looks across at me.

"I guess now isn't a good time to tell you I'm scared of heights?" I breathe out.

"Why didn't you say something before? We could have given this one a miss," he stands up as the wheel starts moving.

"Jex," I gasp softly and hold onto the cage as it moves. "Please sit back down."

He sits down next to me and wraps his arm around me. "It's okay, I've got you."

I remove my hand from the cage and place his onto his leg, my hand still all sweaty. I close my eyes as it moves higher and higher into the air.

"You should've told me," Jex says softly, as he looks down at me.

"I didn't want to ruin your fun," I open my eyes, looking up at him.

He reaches up and tucks my hair behind my ear. "Seeing you so terrified isn't fun Bella."

The wheel comes to a stop once more and Jex looks out over the fair ground. "It's a nice view."

I peek over his shoulder and look across, but not down. "It is rather pretty," I breathe out.

"So, I uh, hope you don't mind us hanging out with my friends tonight."

"No of course not, they seem nice. Other than their choice in rides," I joke.

He chuckles softly. "I promise we'll get off as soon as we reach the bottom again. But they are nice, Alyssa is always complaining we never go on double dates, so I figured it'd keep her quiet for a moment."

"Oh, we're on a date right now?" I tease with a giggle, as the wheel moves once more, now heading down.

"Oh, now she's confident, now we're almost at the bottom," he chuckles.

We reach the bottom then Jex signals to the ride operator that we'd like to get off and not go around the second time. He opens the door and lets us out.

As I step out, my legs feel like jelly, still shaking from my fear of heights. Jex wraps his arm around me and we make our way out of the exit.

A moment later Alyssa and Malcolm make their way over to us.

"You okay?" Alyssa asks with concern.

"You should have went around again, we just got off because Bella is scared of heights," Jex informs them.

"Crap, why didn't you say? We could have gone on something else," Alyssa asks.

"I thought I'd try and be brave," I admit with a small laugh.

"Alright, let's go and do something else," Malcolm offers.

...

After spending some time wandering around, looking at the stalls and the show bags; we play a few of the games and go on some of the rides that don't involve heights for me.

By now it's been hours and I've really enjoyed my night with Jex and his friends. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much.

"Alright baby, I'm going to win you that giant bear if it's the last thing I do," Malcolm tells Alyssa, as we make our way over to the shooting game, where you shoot small rubber bullets at metal targets.

Malcolm pays the lady and she hands him the gun and bullets. He then lines them up and begins firing. I'll admit he's pretty good, he seems to know what he's doing, but he only gets four of the five targets down.

"Fuck," he huffs and turns to Jex. "You have a go."

"I'm a little rusty but I'll try," He shrugs and pays the lady.

Jex misses the first two shots, but gets two down at the end. He chuckles softly and shakes his head. "I told you I was rusty, sorry Alyssa."

"I'll have a turn," I turn to the lady and had her my money. I take the gun and place the rubber bullet against it, line it up and fire. I repeat this five times, and hit and knock down all five targets.

"Holy shit," Alyssa claps.

I smile as I turn to them. "What bear would you like?" I ask her.

She chooses her bear and the lady hands it to her. I giggle at how excited she is, then make my way back to Jex.

"Where on earth did you learn to shoot like that?" He questions, as he wraps his arm around me.

"I just got lucky," I shrug.

"Bullshit," Malcolm shakes his head. "You were way too good for just pure luck."

"Who's coming on the merry go round with me?" Alyssa calls loudly, holding her large bear in her arms.

"No way," Malcolm laughs.

"I'll go with you," I smile and then look up at Jex. "Will you come too?"

"Of course," he smiles down at me.

"Whipped!" Mal calls with a smirk.

"Malcolm, Malcolm, Malcolm," he pats his shoulder. "If I'm going, it means you're going," he smirks.

We line up for the ride and it doesn't take too long before we're allowed on. I choose one of the horses and sit down. Jex joins me, standing behind it and wraps his arms around me, holding onto the bar in front the of us.

Alyssa sits behind me and Malcolm stands behind her. As the ride beings to move, Malcolm laughs. "Yo Jex, say cheese," he says holding up his phone, recording Jex.

"No way man, you're here too," Jex pulls his phone out, and records Malcolm and Alyssa laughing. Alyssa smiles and wave, not at all concerned about anyone seeing it. Mal shakes his head and tries to hide his face, in a joking manner.

I giggle softly as I watch them, and Jex laughs as well. He stops recording after a while and places his phone back in his pocket.

"Did you have fun tonight?" He asks softly.

"I did and I'm still having fun now. Thank you for bringing me," I smile at him.

"You're welcome, I'm glad," he gives me a soft smile back.

The ride soon comes to a stop and Jex helps me down from the horse. We make our way, hand in hand, toward the exit. Alyssa and Malcolm following.

"Use that footage and I'll kill you," Mal warns with a grin.

"Same goes for you," Jex points at him with a cheeky grin.

"Are we staying to watch the fire works?" Alyssa questions.

"Of course babe," Malcolm wraps his arm around her.

"Do you want to stay?" Jex questions.

"Of course, we can't miss the fire works, it's the best part."

...

After finding a good viewing spot, we all stand together and watch the sky, knowing that the bright colours of light will be before us at any second.

Suddenly a loud bang echoes through the sky, causing me to jump slightly, colour then fills the sky.

Jex wraps his arms around me and brings my back to his front, holding me close to him in reaction to my jumping at the first loud bang. "You good?" He whispers.

"I'm fine, just wasn't expecting it," I tell him as I snuggle my head into his shoulder and turn my face towards him.

He quickly pecks my lips and pulls back.

"Awww," Alyssa giggles. "You guys are so cute."

...

After the fireworks display, Alyssa and Malcolm go their way and Jex and I go ours.

We arrive back at Jex's place, where my car is parked and we make our way inside.

"Thank you again for tonight, I had so much fun," I smile up at him, as we make our way into the kitchen.

"You're welcome," he smiles back and pulls a bottle of water from the fridge. "So uh, are you going to head home? Or, are you staying here the night?"

"Well that depends, do you want me to stay the night?" I ask with a smile.

"I think you might already know the answer to that one beautiful," he smirks.
