"Come on, Jenna, please come with me. Partying without you is so boring."
You plead with her, hoping she will cave.

Jenna rolls her eyes playfully and nods. "Fine, I'll come with you. But I'm not carrying your drunk ass home, so don't overdo it."

You nod and grin, pulling her into a hug.

Time skip

You and Jenna make your way inside the venue. It's packed, and Jenna already regrets going. She only agreed to see your face light up, one of her favourite sights ever.

You make your way to the bar and order some drinks. Jenna admires your outfit while you look around the party at the guests.

She bites her lip before taking a sip of her drink. She knows she's not supposed to look at you that way, but she can't help it. You're gorgeous.

Jenna looks back at you and raises her eyebrow, seeing you talking with a guy. He's flirting, and she feels sick to her stomach from the laugh that leaves your mouth at what he says.

You turn to her and tell her you'll dance with him for a bit. She nods, faking a smile as you get up and head to the dance floor with him.

Jenna sighs, finishing her drink as she feels a hand on her shoulder. She looks up, about to scold whatever drunk asshole is trying to hit on her when she realises who it is.

"Maddie? Oh my god, hi, it's been so long since I last saw you" She hugs Maddie, smiling.

Maddie sits beside her and orders herself a drink before turning to Jenna. "So, what's got you looking so gloomy, babe? Could it be anything to do with Y/n currently dancing with a random guy?" she teases, grinning.

Jenna chuckles, looking down at her empty glass momentarily. "Damn, you had to read right through me, didn't you?"

She laughs, punching her shoulder lightly. "I can't blame you. She is gorgeous. I might ask her out tonight, seeing as you don't have the balls to do it."

Maddie looks over at the dance floor and sees you already looking at her and Jenna. She considers the unreadable look on your face and smirks to herself.

You sigh softly, biting your cheek as you try not to focus on Maddie and Jenna laughing together.

You almost forget the guy you're dancing with and suddenly turn to him. "Wanna take some shots?" he smirks and nods as you return to the bar.

While Jenna and Maddie are dancing with a few of their friends, you take a bunch of shots, hoping to drown the jealousy inside you.

Before you know it, you've way too much. You feel awful, wanting nothing more than to curl up in your bed and sleep.

The guy you're with asks you if you're feeling alright. You shake your head, and he pulls out his phone to call you a cab.

Before he dials the number, you feel an arm snake around her waist. You look up at the stranger and smile. She's super pretty, you think to yourself.

Jenna looks at you, concerned. She gently helps you up, and you lean on her. She quickly says goodbye to Maddie and her friends before making her way out of the venue, holding you up.

She managed to get you in the passenger seat of her car, putting on your seatbelt. She gets into the driver's seat and starts the car.

She's so glad she's only had one drink. Jenna felt she would be taking care of you by the end of the night.

She's pulled out of her thoughts at you, speaking up slurredly, "Hey, you're beautiful, and I don't mind going home with you, but can you please text my best friend? I don't want her to worry."

She shakes her head, smiling. You're adorable when you're drunk. "Y/n, it's me, Jenna; I'm taking you to my place tonight. I need to make sure you'll be ok."

She looks over at you and sees you've fallen asleep. She sighs, knowing she'd have to carry you to her apartment from the car.

She does just that. She walks into her bedroom and pulls back her covers, carefully laying you down on the bed.

She shakes your shoulder gently, whispering, "Y/n? Can you sit up for me, please? I'll help you out of this dress and into something more comfortable."

"Oh, you can help me out of this dress anytime you like, pretty stranger", Jenna laughs as she changes your outfit.

She puts a glass of water and painkillers on her bedside table, knowing you'd reach for them in the morning. She covers you with the duvet and is about to get up and leave as she feels you grab her wrist.

"Can I tell you a secret?" you mumble. Jenna isn't sure if you know you're talking to her, but she finds herself nodding.

She sits beside you on the bed and listens as you start speaking.

"You know that best friend I told you about earlier? Her name is Jenna. She's my favourite person. I'm in love with her and don't know what to do about it. I tried to get drunk tonight to forget about her, but it didn't work," you slur, turning on your side away from Jenna as you fall asleep.

Jenna feels her heart racing as she processes what she just heard. She can't believe you just confessed. She knows she'll have to confront you in the morning and hopes you meant what you said.

Time skip

Jenna is in the kitchen, making some breakfast for you both. She hears you groaning as you walk into the kitchen.

"Good morning," you say groggily, sitting at one of her barstools.

"Morning. Regretting yesterday night already?" Jenna asks teasingly.

You nod, burying your face in your hands. "I'm sorry, I'm an awful friend. I promised I wouldn't drink too much, and I did it anyway."

She smiles, handing you a plate of waffles, your favourite. "Shut up. You're not awful. While driving you home, you entertained me, so I'll forgive you."

You look at her worriedly, your eyes wide. "What did I say? Please tell me it wasn't too embarrassing."

Jenna feels her heart race again, but she shakes her head, smiling at you. You both enjoy breakfast in comfortable silence.

Once you change into some of Jenna's clean clothes, you sit beside her on the couch.

She looks at you nervously, and you raise your eyebrows, confused. She takes a deep breath and plays with her shirt. "Can I talk to you about something?"

You nod, suddenly also feeling nervous at what she's about to say. Instead, she plays with her rings as she says, "You told me you were in love with me last night."

Your eyes go wide as you stare at her. You must have misheard her. Were you enough of an idiot to confess to your best friend, who's not interested?

"Jenna, I-" you start to say as she interrupts

"Did you mean it?" you furrow your eyebrows. This is not what you thought she'd ask.

You look at her and feel a soft smile creep on your face. "Of course I meant it. How could I not?"

Before you even realise what's happening, she cups your face, pulling you into a deep kiss.

You instantly wrap your arms around her. You both sigh into the kiss, feeling satisfied at finally doing what you've thought about for so long.

She pulls back from the kiss, caressing your cheek and giving you a wide smile. You chuckle, kissing her forehead as you give her a tight hug.

Maybe getting stupidly drunk wasn't something you regret, for once.
