"Is your sister still coming?" I ask Jax over the phone as I eat the spaghetti he sent over to me. I'm still cooped up in this stupid hotel room too lazy to actually check out the apartments around. Sure virtual tours are cool and all but nothing beats a good old fashion in-person tour.

"She basically wants to be Amber of course she's coming." Jax assures me with his sweet words. He had told his little sister all about me and how I was this 'big shot' fashion illustrator for Amber Dotte. I agreed that I need to get to know his family more considering his father and I didn't speak much at the party. Because Jessi is so into fashion I decided that I would give her an invite to Amber's show tonight. It's going to be just her and I.

I'm nervous but excited. Jax have spoken so well about her that I think I know her. Hopefully she likes me and it isn't one of those cases where the family's gaze of their loved ones is immensely tainted. I would hate to turn up and meet a brat.

"I hope she's as nice as you let on." I pan waiting for another reassuring statement. If Jessi is anything like Jax I don't think I'll be able to survive into next week.

"She's the complete opposite of mean. She's sweet and all things lovable, I'm surprised she hasn't had her heart broken yet." he wonders and I shake my head at his pessimism.

"I need to finish my food and stop talking to you." I say "I'll tell you all about us later." I hang up after bidding farewell.

My legs become sensitive as I stand confidently in my black stilettoes hugging my arm around my body while waiting for Jessi at the entrance of the show. She's only ten minutes late but at a fashion show it's basically half an hour as all the looks that you like have probably already strutted down the catwalk. And yes you'll see them again at the end but not as long as you would if you made it in on time.

A dark car pulls up in front of me and I step back giving whomever adequate space to walk and feel non-violated by my proximity. A skinny leg pokes out from the door decked out in a gold gladiator heel. When her entire body makes it out the car I realize that this skinny legged person is Jessi. Her long structure looks exactly like it did in the photo that Jax showed me earlier, so I can easily spot her. Dark thick hair puddles around her shoulders in a blunt bob framing her delicate features making them appear sharper than they actually are. She looks a bit like Jax, their eyes are the same, not the color but the gleam inside is uneasily familiar. A strapless gold dress wraps around her thin body hugging her small curves and showing off her endless legs.

"You must be Noah." Jessi approaches me with curiosity in her eyes silently asking if I'm actually who she's looking for.

"Yes I am and you must be Jessi." I shot out my hand awaiting a handshake when she pulls me in for a hug. She's all vanilla and ginger. Nothing like the demon breaking souls and mending them with sex.

"Thank you for inviting me, I just can't believe I'm here." she squeals squeezing my hand in hers and I can't fight the smile that breaks out on my face. I'm very puzzled as to why she's never been to an Amber Dotte show considering that her family are billionaires combined. She pulls me through the entrance taking the lead as we walk into the show. The security leads us to our seat in the front where the first collection of clothing is already modeled and the second collection starts.

As the show continues a herd of "I like that" or "That would be amazing on me" sounds all around the venue making me so very proud to be apart of Amber's work. I watch in awe as a few of my works strut down the runway, revelling in my new life.

"That's nice isn't it?" Jessi pipes up from beside me looking at the clothing piece being modeled like she's just fallen in love.

"Thank you." I blush. She turns towards me with her jaw to the floor and not sure what to do with the attention I play with my fingers and keep my eyes forward.

"You made that?" her wide eyes dance around my face probably looking for the lie.

"I illustrated it. I don't do all the sewing and stuff."

"I knew you were working with Amber but that piece is amazing. I am definitely buying after the show. I love it." she gives me a hug and I giggle at her enthusiasm. That piece costs a good five thousand but looking at Jessi she's probably wearing more than what that dress costs.

After the show, Jessi offers to give me a ride to Jax's place which I take.

"You know Jax told me all about you. You broke his heart just a little by standing him up." her words makes my cheeks flush in embarrassment and shame.

"Yeah that was pretty immature of me but I didn't know what else to do. I just had to get everything out of my system so I could start brand new."

"It's okay. The ends justified the means didn't it?" I saw my lips between my teeth thinking very hard about it.

"I think so." I answer.

"It's clear you two were meant for each other. I mean you're literally back here with my moron of a brother." I laugh at her words.

"He is a moron isn't he?" she smiles before nodding bursting out in laughter. She comes to a stop at Jax's place and I turn towards her engulfing her small frame in my arms.

"He really loves you Noah, you're all he's manage to talk about since he came back from his cruise." she whispers to me and I close my eyes feeling so grateful for him.

"Thanks." I whisper back before clambering out of the car. I watch as she drives away smiling with such brightness in her eyes.

I call Jax to let him know that I'm outside of his house and within a minute the door opens up to Ming. My body goes rigid at the sight of her. She's well dressed in a pant suit and all but I can't deny that she looks absolutely gorgeous.

I'm not a jealous person but I think I've always had a quiet vendetta against Ming for being so close with Jax all the time. Any man would just fall at her feet just looking at her bronzed body and sultry face.

"You're not just going to stand there are you?" she scoffs walking away leaving the door open and me behind. I think she has a vendetta against me too.

I walk into the house closing the door behind me and locking it. Ming is no where to be found when I finally step into the foyer so I walk around looking for Jax. His house is massive almost like a maze and I haven't yet become acclimated with it. Voices fill my ears as I inch closer to the brown door in front of me and I push it open. There he is seated at the table with Ming going over his schedule. She holds his life in her hands. I don't like it.

They don't notice me at the door and I watch them interact in silence. Call me crazy but I have every reason to believe that Ming likes my boyfriend. Her dark eyes chase his entire face as he speaks reeking of submission and want. I recognize those eyes way too much, I gave those eyes to Parker. My heart softens at the thought of her liking even loving Jax because no one deserves not being loved by the person they adore.

I knock at the door, both eyes looking up at me, one pair doused in adornment and the other in distaste.

Ignoring Ming's eyes I walk towards my boyfriend and plant a kiss on his cheek because he's mine and walk away with my chest heavy with guilt, knowing I probably shattered Ming's heart.
