Chapter Fifteen

Teresa got the message. She was at the verge of forcing the pizza she ordered down her throat after losing her appetite due to his delivery earlier. Somehow her eyes still weren't clear from being blinded with rage.

His involvement on Alexa's sponsorship withdrawals made her complete sense boil in uncontrollable anger. She can't wait to deliver him a strong punch when she sees him.

The thought of him being in New York still surprised her, until it didn't. From what she knew, his business, home and life were in Seattle. Teresa somehow thinks maybe he was here for her, or for business, or maybe for both.

Though she hoped it wasn't for her. That will only prove Jacob was onto her; to punish her? To seek revenge?

If it were any of those two that would mean she'd committed a crime. But as far she knew, she'd only met Jacob during their trip and stay in Lakewood.

Currently, she's seated in the backseat of a cab. On her lap and hand is a bag that held the dress and shoe she found hidden in the box. She'd refused to wear the dress he instructed her to wear, instead she opted out to wear a black leggings, and a small white shirt, with a black jeans jacket.

She dressed to kill. She is going to absolutely murder him tonight. How dare him try to blackmail her into coming to see him. It's obvious he hasn't met this side of her, it's high time she showed him not to mess with her. Whatever he plans saying to her, she was very much prepared to know, then strangle him to death.

Maybe she is exaggerating a lot about killing him, but somehow the thought of doing that quenches the burning fire in her a bit.

"Sick bastard." She gritted out her hand clenching the bag she held tight.

"Excuse me?" The driver's confused voice snapped her away from her haze. He glanced at her through the rearview mirror. She had been in the thought of skinning Jacob alive that she wasn't aware she had openly cursed out.

She shook her head, releasing her tight hold from the back. "I'm sorry. I wasn't talking to you. I just had a really stressful day." She apologized, giving him a pleading gaze. But that only made him stare at her skeptically, before directing his gaze back to the busy road.

Great! Now he thinks she was insane.

She sighs out in frustration, placing her head on the car-rest hoping and wishing for her to get to her destination quickly. The quicker she got there, the quicker this whole mess was solved.

Some time later, the driver informed her they were there. She paid him, then stepped out of the cab, and in a flash the cab driver drove off, as if he had a fire on its tail.

Teresa lifted her gaze to the skyscraper opposite her. She gasps at the sight of the building. She expected him to have a lounge in a hotel, or a motel. But not this.

She strides into the building as the security at the doorpost pull the transparent glass door open for her. She welcomed the beautiful sight and expensive smell. She instantly became self-conscious when she saw the people walking around the lobby. Though she doesn't regret not wearing the dress, Jacob ordered her to wear.

Inhaling a deep breath, she closed off her mind and heads towards the counter, her black leather booth screeching as she walked on the marble floor.

"Good evening." Teresa greeted the lady at the other side of the counter. On hearing her voice the lady raised her gaze up, offering Teresa a professional smile, as she straightened herself with both her hands joined together as she stood.

"Welcome ma'am. How may I help you?" She said, showing Teresa her straight white teeth.

"I'm here to see Jacob Snow?" Teresa's word came out rather in question then she wanted. Her hands fumbled with the handle of the bag she held.

"Please wait a minute." She ordered, before going to make a call from a land-phone. After talking to whoever it was at the other line, she dropped the phone, returning her stare on Teresa. "Mr. Snow is expecting you at the upper penthouse floor. There's an elevator at the last end on the right painted gold, that's the one you'll use. The security there has already been notified about you."

Teresa thanked her, before heading towards the direction of the elevator. She saw a well built man in a security uniform. He only gave her a short glance then lifted a clip-file and a silver pen to her. "Sign." He ordered, with a bored look on his face.

She did so immediately before handing it over to him after giving him a confused look. He took it then turned behind him to press the open button by the side of the elevator, then offered her a card from his chest pocket, it slid open for her to enter. When she entered the elevator and the door slid shut, she saw a blinking light that instructs to swipe in the card, which she did. She immediately felt the elevator moved, and quickly prepared herself for whatever Jacob was cooking up for her.

As the elevator ascended, so did her anger. Her presence here flamed her anger even more. It's better she was completely done with him, before she did something she might regret. Her body stiffened when the elevator dinged open revealing a large open living-room.

Teresa choked in shock at the presence of the room facing her, that she didn't even give the man standing in the middle of the large room a single glance. She knew Jacob had money, but she wasn't aware how rich he was. From the open view it was very obvious he was madly rich. Right from the top of the large chandelier on the well structured ceiling to the shining marble floor, it all screamed riches. From where she stood she could see the open beautiful night view of New York City.

She found herself unable to move an inch from where she stood. Her eyes locked on that of Jacob who wore a shite button shirt open at the top leaving a small view of his chest, with a dark blue trouser, he stood there giving her a blank stare both his arms behind his back, shooting her an intimidating vide.

Teresa wasn't aware how long she stood inside the elevator, until it moved and slid shut on both their faces. She was immediately able to breathe ever since the elevator opened. But at the same time she groaned, wanting to smack her forehead somewhere for having to have reacted that way with him.

Somehow she felt stupid and small as the elevator descend down. Her plan to be on the upper hand somehow backfired on her. Now Jacob would think she was running away from him. When that was the last thing in her mind.

On getting back to the lobby floor. She clicks the elevator door open. She was the surprise look on the security once bored face, Teresa offered him a sheepish look before shutting it close again then swipe the card again to the slot opposite her.

After some few minutes it slides open, revealing again Jacob still in that same position, but this time around his blank stare was replaced with amusement. She found that look rather annoying, as if he knew he was already winning.

Clearing her throat with her spine straightened and a chin up, she slowly walked out of the elevator. "I wasn't running." She said wanting to clarify herself, but it only made her sound more pathetic.

Jacob chuckled, still leaving his gaze on her. "I wasn't asking." She watched as his eyes scrutinized and his brow quirk at the sight of her attire and the bag she held in her hand. "I see you didn't listen to me."

She shrugged her shoulders at his word, trying to present herself like she wasn't already intimidated by his presence alone. "Last time I checked I wasn't a child that you order around and tell what to do." She said almost forgetting her reason for being here in the first place.

She strides towards his direction like a woman on a mission, before taking him by surprise by lifting her right knee and slamming him on his groin, then walked past him.

He fell to his knees grunting out in pain, while holding his precious family jewel. She could hear him cursing out incoherent words from his mouth, but totally ignored him and helped herself to a seat like she owned the place.

Feeling satisfied with what she'd done to him, she let out a long breath, then returned her gaze to Jacob who was starting to regain himself from the pain she inflicted on him.

He carefully and slowly stood on his feet, then whirled his green eyes on her. She had expected to see annoyance in it but was taken by surprise by the genuine smile on his face, making him appear more attractive than he already was. From where she sat, she saw a small something she hadn't seen on his face before. A dimple but the left side of his cheeks.

Shit! Dimples were one of her weaknesses, and seeing it on his face made her unconsciously squirm on the seat. She wondered why she hadn't noticed that in him before, it was probably because she was too busy hating him to notice those details on him.

Teresa saw him walk towards her, still keeping a smile on his face. "Feisty. I'm loving this already." He said totally recovered from whatever pain he was in a while ago.

She scoffed at his words, rolling her eyes at his choice of words. "Of course  you do. But that wasn't what you were saying a while ago when you were on your knees." She sarcastically before flinging the bag she held at him, which he caught like a professional. "Undo whatever mess you did to my friend before I do more than knocking some senses to your dangling thing."

"My dangling thing. Is that what you want to call it?" He said in amazement, clearly finding humor on what she just said.

She narrowed her brown eyes at him, already understanding what he was doing. "I didn't come here to talk about small little Jacob—" he interrupted her by letting out an unexpected loud laughter, his body shaking by the impact of his laugh, while still at his feet facing her.

"It's a small little Jacob now?" He said, still laughing at her words. She found his laughter alluring, she had never seen Jacob laugh before when she was present, and seeing him like this made whatever grudge she had against him reduce a tiny little bit. "Trust me there's nothing small and little about this Jacob."

She fought herself from smiling at him. "Shut up Jacob." She spoke, before giving him a hard serious glare. "Now tell me why did you do that to my friend. What the hell do you want from me Jacob?" She folded her arms around her chest, his eyes immediately followed her movement, the laughter in his eyes already disappeared, the green orb of his eye darkened as he stared at her chest.

Quickly she loosened her hand from her chest. She cleared her throat to  snap his gaze away from her breast. Teresa couldn't deny the atmosphere had completely changed, suddenly the wide space of the suite became small and tight, the once cool air became hot.

Teresa knew she wasn't the only one feeling the change and tension in the room. Jacob also felt it. But there was no way she was ever going to react to whatever magnetic pull that was in their mist.

Jacob dropped the bag on the floor by his side, then stride to where she sat. "I want you." He replied not hesitating for a second, his eyes stared down that she was unable to move. She felt like a prey in his eyes, that she gulped at his movement. Her body became so sweaty that she wanted nothing more than to pull off her black jeans jacket to the side and fan herself.

Getting to where she sat, Jacob squatted down, placing both his hands by the seat by her side, and caged her from running from whatever he said. His eyes roamed around her face, as if he was trying to read her. "Let's play a game."

She frowned in confusion, unconsciously biting her lower lips, which didn't go unnoticed by him. "What game?" She asked, whispering in a way that she herself almost didn't understand a word.

Jacob gave a sinister smirk. A look Teresa knew was trouble, an expression he mostly showed her. "Let's play a game Teresa. My game."
