It was great down there in Blueberry.

The farm chores weren't all that easy, but with help from the entire extended family, Mr.Walter was sure able to keep buisness going, long enough to get money to pay back thier huge loans taken from the bank back in Genshaba (Far northern)

It was the city they called 'Richie Land' where folks from all over Europe, Africa and Asia would settle in for fine livin.

His daughter Terra was fine livin' in Blueberry, born there, never gone out. The sweetheart, now grown into a nice brown haired, blue eyed like that of the Blueberry oceans was active in the farm. She was tall, slim. Had her head high like her late mother would. She took pride into her lifestyle: sang songs, rode horses, feedin' the plumpy cows and forkin' 'em poop off the barn... fine livin'

The county was quite separated from everyone else worldwide. It was small, farms scattered around the whole land, often rivals for who makes the most exports, and who owns what land. Right now, summer had served them good. The work is greater than ever on the farm.

"𝑶𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆!" The family sat around the fireplace after chores at night and sang along to some ol' folk. "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂!!!"

The song ended, they all clapped and laughed together. Terra sat on the wooden cabin floors, right under her fathers eyes. Gran was opposite them, little cousin Bibo lay on the rug with Jeremiah, her brother. Uncle and Aunty sat on armed chairs.

"That song was quite a good one." Gran laughed silently, rocking herself on the chair. She was blind. "Have I told you guys about how my grandfather made that song?"

"Many times." Terra whined to herself. Her father kicked her back to signal she shouldn't interrupt Granny's stories.

"He loved writing songs, you know?" She began, a smile creeping up on her face. Her eyes were wide open, pure white. "There... there is this other one called 'Sanity' oh it was ma favorite! We'd sit in a circle, he'd play his guitar and humble ma heart."

Aunty smiled at Gran as she spoke, her eyes although spoke fear and pity. Dementia and diabetes hasn't been easy for them to watch her suffer from.

She reached out her hand and stroke Grans snow hair slowly, very softly as the ol' lady continued to ramble on. The more she looked at her, her eyes teared up. The bright sea blue dulled into a wild hurricane.

"It goes '𝑶𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒔 𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒛𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒘𝒘! 𝒊 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒌𝒆 '𝒆𝒎 𝒖𝒑 𝒊 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒕 '𝒆𝒎 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉..." Gran began, the entire family sang along to the new song, except Terra.

Her mind was a far cry, for some reason a late night horse-ride was all she felt like participating in. She stood up in their mist, height shadowing. She looked at her father and waved goodnight before attempting to disappear into the night.

"Where is Terra off to, Walter?" Gran asked abruptly loud. The blind lady wasnt all so folly after all.

"Goodnigh' Gran. Just a quick ride before I'm off to bed. Someone has to take a double look to see if the sheds and 'em fences are all intact." She answered, heading towards the door, "Gimme thirty!"

Terra dissapeared into the night. Gran smiled, rather tight. She looked in the direction the felt her son Walter was in, "Y'know, she reminds me of your ol' Mary. She never sat down for a minute or two, always w'rkin' But you must know how to tame a wild lioness like Tee."

Walter laughed. He got on his knees in front of his mom and tipped his hat at her. He held her hand and gave it a nice squeeze. "Of course, ma. It was Mary's time, God took her away on that bed because he knew what was best for us. Tee is a gyal of honour, ma. A gift from 'bove, not a chance she'd not be fine."

Gran laughed, rocked herself harder from the pleasurable words she heard from Walter. She used her hand to caress his body to find the catholic chain she gave him. As soon as she did she laughed and began, "𝑶𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒔 𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒛𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒘𝒘! 𝒊 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒌𝒆 '𝒆𝒎 𝒖𝒑 𝒊 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒕 '𝒆𝒎 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉..." and they all sang along.

Terra hopped on her pure white Tennessee walker horse. She called her Moonshine. And what a crook she'd be to never take the sweetheart on a ride at night. The full moon was out, hovering above. Terra gazed it for a moment before beginning her ride around the ranch.

Not much of a loner she was. She often had folks her age from other farms come up and greet her, boys mostly. Her hair that night was let into two long pigtails to resemble her cousin lil' Bibo. She also wore her mother's hat in respect. Terra didn't get to know her mom - Mary - because she passed while bringing her to this treasurable world...but the stories of her never got old, or ever finished.

"Alright Moonshine, wanna go by the river bank, gossip 'bout folk?" She asked the horse, brushing its mane. "Noone gonna have to know if you keep yr mouth shut."

She did this often, talk to the horses and animals. Terra answered her own question and rode out of the ranch into the woods, towards the river. As she rode she found herself singing her Grans favorite song 'Sanity' out loud. As soon as she realised she laughed at the memory of her Gran. The ol' lady always made Terra blush because she spoke with so much enthusiasm, like life was all about family and love, harmony and a bit of peace. Terra loved that energy.

"Gran is something to talk about, Moonshine!" She smiled, dimples pierced her youthful cheeks. She was right around 22, quite new into life. "Should have carried ma rod, maybe we could have surprised uncle with some fish today. Might get rotten by tomorrow, but ok! plenty of fish in the sea, am I right?"

Pollution wasnt all terrific in Terra's world. At least Blueberry.

She reached the river. She loved it there because a waterfall wasn't all that far off, the noise allowed her practice shooting with Her Daddy's rifle in hope she wouldn't startle the neighbouring ranch. It was also a perfect hunting spot: she got to meet other people there.

"Ok girl, take a sit." She kissed Moonshine and took off her boots before stepping into the rushing river. "𝑨𝒓𝒈𝒉𝒉 This is it Moonshine! Cold, smooth water."

It wasn't that deep, she could make out pebbles and little fish if she paid attention. Terra stood there, enjoying the free leg massage.

"Y'don't grow up, do ya?"

Terra was startled by the voice, then fell down into the water. She turned around, none there. She got so scared she pulled out two pocket knives from her boots as her eyes lurked the darkness.

"Up here, luv!" A boy sat on a tree, hovering over Terra. He laughed at her and dangled his feets in the air. He was holdin' a bottle of Genshaba's richest wine.

Terra got up and picked up her boots, ready to mount Moonshine. "Don't do that!"

"Am sorry." He laughed, then let down a ladder for her to climb up, "I'm Saviour. Nice to meet ya, Terra."

"Y'know me? I dunno Saviour." She forces the boots on her feets. "I'm not climbing that tree, friend."

"So you are just gonna leave like that. Nothing."

"What am I supposed to say? You stole ma spot, dumbass." Terra raised her voice and mounted her horse. "New folk can't respect a gyals privacy."

He was so confused. He didnt mean to startle or make her leave. "Dont go just yet! Oh gawd! I'm not just any folk."

Terra found that intresting, "What are you then, Saviour?"

"A humble boy."

"I've known plenty of guys that say that. No humble dumbass would call me underage!" She took it offensive. Although, curiosity didnt let her ride on. She stared at the boy and wanted to hear him plead like every other one she knew.

"Alright I apologize, I was just making joke." He climbed down the tree quickly to join her on the ground, he was also barefooted. Terra too let her guard down and dismounted Moonshine. Then both stood on leveled ground. He was short. Terra seemed like a beast compared to him.

He was more on the shy side now that she thinks of it, shorts... too short. Sandy curly hair, freckled all over. In Terra's mind, all she pictured was  new person to intimidate and bully, so she'd play along.

"Woah! You look great." He laughed and reached out a hand to shake her.

"I know." She didn't shake him back. She stood there looking down at him, lauguing maniacally in her mischievous mind. "Where about you from?"

"North Genshaba. I was born there." He began, "I came down to Blueberry a few days back to help my mom with her new ranch."

"New ranch??" She got interested, although sort of pissed off.

"Yes, she is starting a buisness of her own. Why?"

"We've got enough competition here in Blueberry. No more ranches, it puts everyone's buisness into a drain!" She stepped towards him. He stepped back, skin roasted out red already.

"Uh... uh It's not me, its her. I'm sure there wouldnt be that much of a problem is we all get along and sell together."

"Independence."

"Okay, that word!" He laughed to ease the atmosphere, "I'm sure the farm is not permanent, just for her to gain a few."

"Okay."

He looked at her. She looked back. They stood just inches away from each other. Terra enjoyed the atmosphere, he hated it.

"Why so against it?"

"My dad, my rock and hero is going out of buisness, we cant risk any more losses. I'll do whatever it takes to have him in good shape."

"Oh Daddy's girl, huh." Saviour laughed genuinely, making fun. Now, he didnt feel as much intimidated by her height.

"Scram, I'll kill you with these knives." She said rather quietly. Digust gradually fueling up inside her.

He raised both hands and moved backwards, right back towads the tree to where it all began. She took a sit on the river side and placed both legs inside the water, ignoring him like he never existed.

"Ma name is Terra, I've been in ma dads ranch ma whole life." She said, head down watching the water move. "Im concerned is all."

"Yes. Might take a couple years before Ma starts selling, so till then we just rearing ourselves."

Silence swallowed them up now. Terra wasnt anymore interested in knowing him, while he wasn't sure to speak to her.

Figs, twigs, worms and flies settled the woods moist floor - nothing much to see down there. Terra raised her head to the sky in attempt to gaze the stars, fine above were a bunch of tree branches stealing the precious view. In Terra's world, the trees were very much still abundant.

"I'm gonna head back home. I don't want ma family to worry 'bout me." She got up, mounted her horse and disappeared behind thick trees before he could say goodbye... his brain wasnt all that quick.

"Oh." He looked at the direction she left. He nodded snd sipped his wine. "It's just me again."
