As all three mounted their horses. Lily appeared from the barn and rushed to meet them. A frown was planted on Terra's face strongly, and Jeremiah's father - Uncle Dan - was troubled greatly.

"Where 're you guys off to?" Lily was confused.

"Just stay here with Gran and Bibo." Her husband tipped his hat at her, already riding off the stables. Mr.Walter too tipped his hat, followed by Terra. The three hastily rode out of the ranch towards the Ohilo ranch.

"You should go stay with Gran at the ranch! Don't get y'rself involved with Ohilo!" Her dad offered.

"No."

Him and his brother Dan exchanged looks. Terra's willpower was too much, he knew he didnt have much of a say. She rode Moonshine faster, now leading the tracks ahead of them both. Walter was stacked with guns in his satchel, same as Dan. Terra had tucked in her pocket knives in her boots, but also carried a small hand gun.

"If those bastards have Jeremiah, I swear I'll shoot 'em Daddy!" Terra screamed over the galloping. "The Ohilo's cannot keep messing with us like this!"

"Leave this to Dan," Her father ordered, looking at him "It's his son, he decides how the approach works."

Dan nodded. They rode harder and faster through wide land, the sun striking thier faces, short shadows sat beside them. Terra had her head high as she rode, sure enough that her way was going to get them through to find Jeremiah.

"Ohilo!" Dan called out at the front of their ranch, making their way in, "Ohilo get out here!"

Their ranch was organised, a few workers looked at the three of them as they stormed in fully armed. Then one of them quickly ran into the house to announce that the "Downeys have arrived with guns."

"Ohilo!" Dan called out again. Everyone just stared at them all. Terra then shoots a bullet into the sky to further tense things up, show that they were no mediocre folks.

"Get y'r ass up here!" Terra added, she looked at her Uncle for approval - which he gave by nodding.

Soon after, the Ohilo family rushed up to the scene: Mr.Ohilo, Mrs.Ohilo, their three grown sons and further out relatives. "What is it you want, Walter?!" Mr.Ohilo yelled at them. They too were armed up, a hand hidden in their back pockets.

"Dont act like you are all fuckin' angels! where is Jeremiah?!" Terra took lead and asked, intimidating Mr.Ohilo with her height. The family wore matching outfits, today it was white tops, blue jeans. The organising made Terra pissed off.

"Who is this young lady? and why would my father have your people?" One of Mr.Ohilo's sons - Niko - checked out Terra, eyes lurking her thighs, "Why?"

They were about the same height, he didn't feel threatened. She stepped back, right behind her father's shadow and said no more.

"Look we both know you kidnap folks 'round here 'nd keep 'em in y'r lil barn." Mr.Walter came off rather calm, "Just give us Jeremiah and we would go, what you want for a 12 year old boy?"

"You all are making a fool of yourselves!" Mrs.Ohilo bursted out into laughter. Terra cocked her gun and pointed it in the woman's face immediately. Simultaneously, All the boys pulled out their guns and aimed it at the three. Terra wasnt intimidated, "Go get my uncle his son."

"We dont have his son!" She kept laughing, "Why should we even traffik him? he only sells for a couple pennies!"

"That's it." Terra aimed a bit higher than her hair and shot a hose line right behind her. Mrs. Ohilo flinched, hid behind her husband who wasn't ready for any problems that day, he rubbed his round stomach and turned his back to them, casually walking back into his home.

"This b*tch just f'ked up our new hose!" The same boy looked at her and pointes a gun to her face, "Now I'll kill you."

"Not if I end you first."

Her father pulled her aside, to stop the argument. The remaining family members just stood quietly in front of them, "𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒊𝒕 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂!" He whispered.

"No. They have Jeremiah." She jerked off her arm while pointing the gun at one of their workers, then accidentally fired it a few centimeters off her head. "𝑶𝒉 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌." She didn't know that she missed.

"They fired!" All the sons cocked their guns at all three, leading them out of the ranch. Mrs. Ohilo and the other members ran over to the worker - still alive - and kept checking to see whether Terra had made a murder case. Mr.Ohilo was still walking back into his home.

"𝑰-𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚!" Terra put her gun back into her pocket, mounting Moonshine.

"Get out of here. We don't. Hav. Y'ur boy." Niko groaned.

"𝑶𝒉 𝑮𝒐𝒅..." Terra was panting, she didn't have the courage to stare back at her Uncle or her fuming father. And today, she admits she might have gone too far.

Her Uncle rides back home, taking another path to leave Terra with her father. It was silent. She still had the mentality she had murdered someone. From the stories she was told of Ohilo, she expected more aggression.

"Hadn't I told you to lay back?" Her father asked suddenly.

"I just wanted to help!"

"Hadn't I told you to stay home with Gran?"

She didn't know how to reply. He was right.

"Did you search the ranch for Jerry?"

"I did!" She lied again, "They have him!"

Her father shook his head, staring ahead. They rode side by side, his horse was black - a contrast to hers.

Mr.Walter didn't know how to argue, not with Terra. He wasn't good at starting fights but it seemed like Terra had just waged a war between the two families. Even worst than the existing one.

They dismounted their horses at the stables, hitched them and went out to see Uncle Dan huging Jeremiah at the porch. Terra's mouth flung open, tears flooded her eyes from fear and happiness in a mix.

"Jerry?" Mr.Walter ran over to Jeremiah who was still in his nightwear, eating toast. Terra didn't walk over.

"I thought you said he wasn't in the ranch, Terra?!" Uncle Dan bursted out at her, letting go of Jeremiah.

"I checked!"

"No you didn't." Her father added to the feul, patting Jeremiah's hair.

"Do you know the trouble you have caused us Tee?" Dan yelled, he was so worried about his son, "You shot at the Ohilos twice for a crime they didn't commit! We both know those guys dont let things go so easy!"

"Where was Jeremiah?"

"Basement. Hiding from you." Dan looked with disappointment, "What were you thinking placing a bet on a 12 year old like that?!"

"Why are you coming at me like this?"

"We rode miles to embarrass ourselves in front of a cult!"

Terra turned around to storm off. Her dad was quiet. Lily rushed up to them and demanded answers to why they rode off earlier. Terra didn't stay to listen. She resumed her chores and helped Gran throughout the day while Lily made dinner.

She didnt eat with the rest of the family at dinner, neither had she talked to any of them. And she had settled Gran on her bed to eat with her, she wanted some company.

"𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒂𝒘𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒉..." Gran sang as soon as she felt her granddaughter lie on the bed beside her. "Tee. How are you?"

"Hungry. You too. " Terra chuckled a bit. Then scooped some vegetable soup into Gran's mouth. It took Gran some time to swallow it. Terra was impatient, then scooped another one in quite quickly.

"Let's sing a song." Gran offered after she was done chewing on the mouthful. "Pick one, dear."

"Umm...Sharing Bettany?" She asked.

"𝑰 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒂 𝒇𝒊𝒏' 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒅𝒂𝒚. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒓𝒓! 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒚 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒎𝒎!" They sang together. When they were done with the verse, they both bursted out into laughter. The lyrics were quite a discussion.

"𝑨𝒉! this generation!" Gran smiled, staring forward into nothing always. " It's lost, Tee. Songs are crazy, I can't believe it."

"It sure is." Terra laughed. She scooped some more food into Gran's mouth. As she looked at her, she wondered whether she should tell her about what happened earlier and the new ranch. But she respected herself and kept shut. She spent the rest of the evening feeding Gran, missed the sunset. They sang good songs, bad songs and laughed.

Lily came into the room.

"Ready to bath, mam?" She asked Gran, holding her hand.

"Ah yes! I was just enjoyin' Tee's company." Gran laughed, then with the help of Lily, stood up and entered the bathroom. Teera smiled to the memory of Lily's pregnancy.

"I'm goin' to check out on the ranch y'all." She left the room.

Terra mounted Moonshine and disappeared into the woods, towards the lake like every other night.
