The Death Eaters left, however, their absence only made us rest, but not celebrate yet, only cry over the state of our school.

My heart ached at the sight of the young small kids, layed in the floor, lifeless among the wreckage of the castle, and tears started streaming down my face.

Draco hugged me for a few seconds, while I let it all out, the pain, the sorrow, all the tears that needed to come out.

McGonagall and the rest of the staff bringed the corpses to inside the castle, putting them in the Great Hall, which was in ruins as well, but we still had find clear places to rest from the war.

Such war that wasn't even close to be over.

Is exhausting, to fight in a war, for a purpose to bring the peace to this world, and it seems worth it in the end, but when we look on what we have lost our mind wonders.

What is peace, if we need a war to conquer it first?

I sound like my mother, I knew she would be fighting until the end, until her body gave up, all she ever wanted in the end was peace, which was the way she left this world that was too destroyed for her.

My eyes have witnessed so many death tonight that I think I will never be able to sleep without the flashes from this day haunt my dreams and turn them into nightmares.

Madame Pomfrey, and Slughorn and the few people who knew about healing, were helping with the injured when we stepped in the Great Hall, the corpses still layed on the floor, as the teachers and students were still covering them.

Blaise suddenly appeared standing next to us, catching my attention and Draco's.

"Mate!" Draco shouted as he gave him a hug with a small slap on each other's back.

"I'm so glad you're okay." I said as I hugged him tightly. "How are you feeling?" I asked softly after pulling away.

His face was dirty from all the explosions, his forehead full of dry sweat, and his grey shirt was ripped, despite that he didn't seemed to be injured.

"Alive." He said nodding his head. "A bit charred from earlier but alive." He said amusingly, making a wide smile appear in our lips.

However his smile was wiped away as soon as his gaze looked over to where the corpses were.

"Hell of a war, huh?" Blaise said, carefully eyeing all the bodies. "What about you, how are you guys?" He asked softly.

"Tired, and sore, but nothing that can't be healed." Draco said calmly, as his hand went to wrap around mine.

I caught sight of Charlotte and Matthew, Madame Pomfrey was healing Charlotte's right arm, that the last time I saw was soaked in blood.

We walked over to where she was sat, she gave me a thin smile when she saw me, and so did Matthew.

Madame Pomfrey was finishing to spread Essence of Dittany on Charlotte's arm, her bloody sleeve had been ripped from her clothes, making the deep wound she had from her shoulder to her elbow all exposed, she flinched each time the essence touched her skin, I could tell that her wound was pretty bad.

"How are you feeling?" I asked softly, as I sat in the same bench as she was.

"From someone who could've had lost the arm, I think I'm feeling alright-ouch." Charlotte said calmly but raising her voice when the essence touched a highly infectionated part of the wound. "What about you?" She turned her gaze to me.

"I have felt better, but I'm okay." I said vaguely, not exactly knowing how to deal with everything that is happening, and that has happened.

Madame Pomfrey finished with a white bandage that she wrapped around her while arm, that quickly got stained with blood seconds after she finished the job.

"I bet you didn't woke up waiting to end up with your arm like that." I said trying to break the awkward silence between us.

"No, I definitely didn't...none of us did." She said softly.

"And it's not over." I said, a thought that was lingering on my mind.

"It's definitely not over" Charlotte agreed with me. "But that's why we're here, to fight so we can protect this world from the darkness...am I right?" She asked softly, her gaze leaving her arm and focusing on me now.

"Yeah...yeah you're right..." I gave her a smile.

I looked at my side, Draco was standing besides me, speaking with Blaise, his platinum blonde hair messed up, dry sweat stained on his forehead, and his face all dirty from the wreckage and the explosions that happened, but he didn't seemed to be injured which relaxed me down as I made sure he was intact.

I turned to Matthew, who was standing a few inches away from us, and seemed to be deeply thinking about something, upset while doing so.

I descended the bench where I was sat in, and walked over to him, however he didn't even noticed me reaching him, as his eyes seemed to still be unfocused from whatever was happening around him.

"What's wrong?" I asked firmly, and saw his thoughts drifting away from his mind.

He took a deep breath and crossed his arms in front of his chest, his face had a cut on his cheek almost reaching his eyes, his hair all tangled, and his shirt ripped on the back, with some smaller injuries in his bodie.

"My own father...tried to kill me." Matthew said the sentence said out loud seemed to hurt him more as the realization of it sank in him.

"I'm sorry, Matthew." I said as I placed a hand on his back, and the flashes from Marcellus Cruciatus Curse appeared in my mind, as if the pain was still accumulated but now in my head.

"I miss the man he was..." He said firmly, and avoid to look me in the eye. "He's all corrupted now from the dark magic, my father has vanished from him long ago." He said angrily.

I didn't said anything at that, it was obvious that Matthew's father had changed, a lot, since he got bitten, specially after he attacked his own wife, he followed paths he shouldn't have.

"I'm sorry..." Matthew said catching me off guard." For...pretty much everything." I smiled at his words, it was honest words, I could tell he was indeed regretted.

Suddenly I felt Draco's steps behind us, his gaze focused on Matthew all the walk, until reaching us.

"Angelo." Draco raised his hand, his tone was soft, and approval.

"Malfoy." Matthew nodded his head as he shook hands with Draco, both of them finding peace between each other.

I let my head fall on Draco's chest at the sight of the things finally starting to calm down, and run well.

However the tense in my body built up again when I remembered that a war was still waiting to be finished, finished for good.

The odds for us to win were low, we were already in out number before, and now with all these deaths and injuries it would not be differently, Voldemort barely lost any followers or had anyone injured, as we only used stunt spells and hexes, when they used curses, and an army ten times bigger than our own.

Nobody seemed to have faith now, all the hope had been drifted away from us, the very last bit layed now with Harry defeating Voldemort for good.

I was with my head on Charlotte's shoulder when Harry, Ron and Hermione stepped in the Great Hall, the three of them shocked by the destruction in the castle.

Harry was skeptical while looking at all the dead students, I could tell he felt guilty for every single one of them, he was shocked to see all the wreckage that Hogwarts had become.

He didn't stayed for long, he ranned away from the Hall, and Hermione and Ron stayed here, crying the death of many known people.

The moonlight was peering down at us, a starless sky, and the clouds were now positioning themselves to cover the only light we still had, which I interpreted as the bit of hope we had, our very last chance to spear any other lives and bring peace to this ruined world, so I could finally be free from it, to release myself from these chains.

It would be soon dawn, we had spent the all night fighting, and now we were just waiting to give our last strength to finish this for good.

At this moment Harry was our very last chance to defeat him, he was unstoppable he had too much followers, an army we barely had a chance with, so far we had just trying to resist him the most we could but, we had to cut the head of the snake to win this war, and Harry was perhaps the only one capable to do it.

Me and Draco sat outside, my head, resting on his shoulder while his head rested on top of it, our wands interlaced, taking some breath from the Great Hall.

We watched the born of the dawns light, which was covered in clouds, a grey sky, the sun covered by clouds.

The dull sunless sky, covered in puffy blanket of clouds meant no good was to come, and that feeling was crawling in my spine.

"What will happen after all this...if we defeat him?" I asked softly as Draco softly stroked my hair.

"What do you mean?" Draco asked softly.

"Will we really run away, or is it just really a fairytale that we hope to live?" I asked, my gaze focused in the sorrow sky.

"We will do everything you want to..." Draco raised my head from his shoulder to grab my face between his hands so he could look me in the eye. "And we will run away, if you want that as well." He said softly.

"I love you, Draco." I gave him a wide smile.

"I love you, Starlight" He said and his lips fell on mine, so softly so kindly, the way he moved them was so careful each time and a smile was displayed on his lips as he did so.

His breath was peppermint, even in a war that taste would always remain.

"Lara..." His face was firm now, his hand going for his pocket, and I furrowed my eyebrowns trying to see if something was wrong. "There's something I want to give you."

Unexpectedly, my gaze flew to the the bridge when I heard the sound of loud steps, and my breath stopped for a moment with what I saw.

"Draco..." I said abruptly, making his attention on the bridge as well.

Voldemort was coming in direction to Hogwarts, his Death Eaters following him from behind, and Hagrid who seemed shocked while carrying a small body in his big arms.

We stood up from where we were sitting, frightened with what was happening at this moment, and soon enough all the students were now reunited with us, watching Voldemort stepping forward in the courtyard.

He seemed to be glad, with a victory face, while he pulled the wreckage from the castle out of his way so he and his snake an followers could pass through.

"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort shouted loud and clear to all of us to hear his amusement on the words he had pronounced.

My knees almost fell on the floor as I heard Voldemort's words, the only thing keeping me from falling into the ground was Draco standing behind me.

Harry was our last bit of hope, our very last chance sonwe could run away, so we could put an end into all of this, and run away from everything and everyone.

"No, no!" Ginny cried out at Voldemort's words, and tried to run to Harry's body in Hagrid's arms but her father holded her back.

"Silence!" Voldemort demanded. "Stupid girl...Harry Potter is dead..." Voldemort said quietly. "From this day forward...you'll put your faith, in me." He said firmly, everybody was quiet as he spoke.

I let a tear left my eye, how could we ever run away if this world would be ruined in darkness, there was no way out, no hope no faith.

"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort shouted now to his followers in amusement, and some laughed as so did he. "And now is the time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us....or die." He was with his arms wide open as if to embrace whoever joined his side.

As foreseen no one stepped to his side, which had made Voldemort's anger rise, the smile once displayed on his lips quickly vanished.

"Draco!" Lucius shouted firmly from behind Voldemort, which made all the gazes being focused on us now, however Draco didn't moved an inch at his father's voice, and my gaze was now on Draco's parents.

My father was right next to Lucius, barely injured, perhaps not even injured at all, looking at me with a firm and serious face as if he was thinking I would join him, but I obviously wouldn't.

Marcellus was next to my father, glaring at me with rage, which only grew when his gaze fell on Draco besides me.

Lucius was being disturbed by his son's hesitation, and his body seemed to tense up when he kept seeing Draco unmoving from where he stood, actually Draco even looked away from his father.

"Draco..." Narcissa's voice captured Draco's full attention, and now he seemed to really be hesitant. "Come." She said softly and his eyebrows furrowed in concerning on what to do.

My hand imediatly looked for his, were I wrapped our hands together, grabbing it tightly so he understood I wanted him to stay, with me by this side no matter what.

He looked at me for a pair of seconds, until I felt his hand grab me with the same force I was grabbing his, and he did not stepped forward.

Lucius glared at me when his son didn't went to his side, and Voldemort only got even more furious than he already was.

Our gazes caught Neville, stepping forward while limping from his leg, leaving us shocked by such attitude from him.

"Well I must say I'd hoped for better." Voldemort said and his followers let out laughs. "And who might you be young man?" Voldemort asked firmly.

"Neville Longbottom." Neville replied and the Death Eaters blasted out of laugh at his name.

"Well, Neville I'm sure we can find a place for you in our ranks-" Voldemort saud but Neville started speaking on the top of him.

"I'd like to say something!" Neville said firmly, his voice of demanding did not pleased Voldemort at all, which clenched his first in anger.

"Well, Neville, I'm sure we'd all be fascinated, to hear what you have to say." Voldemort said firmly.

"It doesn't matter that Harry is gone..." Neville said softly.

"Stand down, Neville!" Seamus shouted.

"People die everyday!" He turned to us now. "Friends, family...yeah, we lost Harry tonight. He's still with us, in here." He pointed to his heart. "All of them...they didn't died in vain..." He said firmly and turned back to Voldemort. "But you will! 'Cause you're wrong!" Voldemort was laughing like if Neville was telling some joke. "Harry's heart did beat for us! For all of us!" He yelled and suddenly he takes a sword out of the hat he was holding, the Gryfindor Sword. "It's not over!" He shouted holding the sword in his hands.

Suddenly we all were surprised by Harry's body who seemed to have fell on the ground, but was moving, he was alive.

Draco seemed to noticed that firstly than me, when I caught him running towards Harry with his arm extended to give him his wand.

"Potter!" He shouted and throwed Harry his wand, and started running away from both of them in direction to me.

"No!" My gaze turned now to Voldemort who was with his anger boiling from his veins with his hand pointed at Draco, who was inches away from reaching me.

"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort shouted.

A flash of blinding green light, that flew from Voldemort's wand, hit me right in the chest, as I placed myself in front of Draco.

It wasn't painful, it was quick, I just started to feel my body empty, and limb, and I fell into the ground when lost all the strength of it, I could tell Harry was now fighting Voldemort but everything seemed to be starting to vanish.

"No!" Draco shouted when he fell to his knees near my body, and grabbed my head with his hand, tears already escaping his eyes. "No!" He yelled his tears already streaming doen his face.

"Keep smiling Draco, for me." I said, as his hand grabbed mine so tightly that it would broke.

"No..." He sobbed. "No, I love you..." He was struggling to speak all his body was shaking. "Please...I love you!" He yelled from the top of his lungs. "Please, Lara...stay...don't leave me...please!"

My vision started to be filled with pitch of black, getting blurred, a tear was forming in my left eye, waiting to fall on the ground, Draco was grabbing my hand but I barely had any strength to grab his tightly as well.

"I'm sorry, my love." Draco cried out, his eyes filled with immense tears like I've never seen before.

"It's okay, Draco." I said using all my last strength to put effort in those words.

Everything went black, as I gave my last breath.
