A/N: Hello lovelies, I won't spoil anything up in the note but I will let you guys read, I won't make my notes too long anymore.

Comment below, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter ~~~

Kadence's P.O.V

"Guys! Those pastries better be straightened up!" I pointed towards the table.

"Don't forget to do the soundcheck for the band!" I pointed towards the stage.

"Oh! and let's not forget the front doors has to be a big entrance!" I pointed to a couple people.

"I swear guys do not-"

"Kadence!" I was cut off.

I turned around and Ellie stood there.

"Everything is perfect... please stop worrying now you're giving me a headache."She laughed.

"I just want to check!" I pouted.

"No, you're avoiding tonight..."

"W-What?"

"Oh, you know what I'm talking about." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Nope." I said popping the 'p'

I walked away casually and she ran in front of me to stop me from running away from her.

"You're nervous! It is so all over your face."

"What! No!"

"Kadence... you'll be okay, both of you guys will look absolutely stunning, and you guys will probably be the hottest couple there!" She winked.

A couple? We are not a couple, well I mean not yet. I'm hoping I can make a move tonight, but I'm going to keep that on the low having the word spread might get to Brooklyn.

"Fine, fine you're right also we are not a couple. Did you talk to Jamie like I asked you to and the sake of everyone else?"

"Yes... I did."

"And how did that go?"

"Uh, fine." She hesitated, I knew she was hiding but I don't want to bombard her with questions.

"Go on..." I motioned my hands instead to keep going the conversation going.

"Well, she isn't into me! Also, she likes someone else. We talked it through and we are fine, I promise it won't be awkward tonight."

"Okay... Well! Let's go get ready, we've been working our ass off this morning. I'll meet up with you later tonight." She nearly yelled avoiding the remark I made, I soon dropped the topic and headed off.

Brooklyn's P.O.V

I gave out a large sigh, there is no way in hell I can do my own make-up. I remember when I was little my own and I would always play dress up, she would let me use her small kit and she made both of us princesses. I miss her. I felt my heart sink a little bit.

I wish she was still here, she would've helped me with all of this. I motioned my hands to my face that looked disgusting and plain. I've already taken a shower and it is now three, maybe I should've started earlier.

I looked down to my phone next to me and saw Kadence message me.

"Hey, I hope you're getting ready!"

"Kind of stressed out right now so don't get your hopes up."

"Stop. You'll look beautiful."

I set my phone down and sat on my bed, I laid down with my face on the pillow and let out a loud groan of the loss of hope.

My phone began to ring, I didn't bother checking the name my guess was that it was probably Kadence or Ellie.

"Hey."

"Hey, sweetie!" A high pitch voice perked out of the phone, and this was the moment I knew I messed up.

Casey, shit.

I sat up straight and felt a shiver down my spine and not just because my hair was still damp.

"Casey, what do you want?" I asked bitterly.

"Um to talk to you..."

"About what? I thought we already had our conversation."

"Okay well I wasn't talking about our last meet up but I was talking about tonight!" She squealed.

I pulled my phone away from my ear from the annoyance.

"Okay, what about it?"

"So it turns out my catering company is working at your dance for tonight."

I nearly choked on thin air trying to grasp what she just said, Casey would be at the dance...

"W-Wait what? Since when did you cater?"

"I told you in the car... You know where we were on our way to the mall."

Right, I didn't pay attention to that conversation because of the annoyance in her voice. Even thinking about it made me roll my eyes.

"Oh, yeah sorry slipped my mind."

"Of course it did..." She dragged out.

"Okay... Well, are you getting ready?" She asked.

"Trying," I said hopelessly.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I can't..." I paused.

"I can't do makeup for my life."

All of a sudden I loud laughter burst through the phone and again I pulled the phone away from my ear out of annoyance.

"Okay! Okay!" She said taking breaths in between her words.

"I'm coming over to help you."

"I mean you don't have to-"

I was cut off, I checked my phone and she hung up. Great. I was nervous for tonight, I slipped on my dress and started to straighten my hair with a flat iron. The dark blue dress fitted me perfectly since it was more of a casual yet fancy dance it didn't touch all the way to the floor but simply above my knees, maybe a bit higher than that.

Ellie's mom really outdone herself with all of our dresses, Kadence sent me a photo of hers considering she saw mine and the surprise was already ruined. She had this light grey dress that fell to the ground by a couple inches, it flowed beautifully and it matched her skin tone. The dance wasn't fancy with dresses those were more casual, but the dance theme was fancier.

I've only set up for decorations, but apparently, there are all white tables with autumn matched tablecloths. The band was more of a subtle music and the stage was typically grand. Apparently, Prom is the formal dance at Mason Grover.

I soon heard the doorbell chime, quickly the thought of seeing her again gave me a sense of bitterness. I just really am hoping we don't argue again. I swung the door open and there she was in her tall slim figure with one hand on her waist.

Her arms dropped to the side and her gaze widen. She bit her lip and averted her eyes upward to the ceiling.

"W-What..." I stuttered.

"You're um... Your dress, it's absolutely beautiful. How much did it cost?"

"Oh um, I got this from a friend."

She nodded her head and walked in the house

"Anyways!" She said loudly.

"Oh god, please don't talk loud I'm growing a headache." I winced.

"Sorry..." She mumbled.

"Let's get started though."

Making our way up to my room, I tied my hair up in a bun and slowly she started to work. I never really had make-up on before, it was all new to me. Sometimes I wish my mom was still here, I remember she was absolutely gorgeous and without a doubt have helped me right now.  After applying the items that I desperately do not know she spun me around to the mirror.

"Alright beautiful, you're done."

I must say she has outdone herself, she laid both her hands on my shoulder and gave a slight smile.

"Do you like it?" She asked subtly.

She crouched down to where my cheek was and gave another genuine smile.

"I do... Thank you."

I'm glad she called, if she didn't I'll still be stuck on my laptop looking at tutorials forever and probably be messing up my gown.

"Alright." She inhaled sharply.

"I have to go to cater for your dance, I'll see you later hopefully."

She grabbed her jacket she left on my bed.

"Alright."

She walked out of my room letting herself out of the house. I stood up tall and looked at myself in the mirror, I have to admit again I actually look beautiful for once. I feel more confident. The dark blue dress was a nice color and thinking about it Ellie's mom did it in such a short period. She really does have her ways.

I wish my dad was here, same with my mom. Usually, in the movies, the parents would have photos taken of their child and then meeting the date, which is usually a boy. Then they would give them a lecture on the time he should bring their daughter home and what not except I don't have that. My date turned out to be a girl, and I'm glad.

I guess I'm pretty lonely though, I miss them. Now I am hoping that tonight won't be as bad. The thought of Kadence came into mind, I wonder how she looked. In the photo, she just showed me the dress but I don't think I can handle her in it.

My phone screen lit up notifying me I had a message since when was the last time my phone went off this much? Oh that's right, never. I looked over and saw Kadence's name.

"I'll be there in a couple minutes."

My hearted started to race, my skin started to feel tight and my palms started to sweat. Oh god, I was nervous? Was I? I mean am I ready for this? I started to pace my room.

What if I fall? I mean I'm not wearing a long dress.

What if I'm underdressed? Then again Mrs. Vanderwal designed this.

What if I'm just awkward? Who am I kidding? I'm always awkward!

God, maybe I should cancel plans. Should I? Oh, God... What if Kadence and I end u-.

The doorbell rang throughout the house. I guess it's too late to back out now, slowly I grabbed my belongings and made my way to the front door. I set one hand on the door handle and took a deep breath. Come on Brooklyn get your shit together.

I opened the door slowly and my eyes met hers, she held a bouquet of blue hydrangeas, and her heels were quite tall.

"Hey..." She spoke.

"H-Hi." I stuttered.

Really Brooklyn? You just had to stutter? Except how could I not? Her dress perfectly fit her capturing every inch of her beautiful curves, her essence was charming, the dress fell to the floor and dragged off at least three inches. The dress was light and thin. My face started to flush with amber.

"Um, I uh... These are for you."

She handed the flowers to me innocently, her smile grew to cause me to blush. These look like the ones from the garden at school, I walked inside setting the flowers on the counter and made my way out again while shutting the door behind me.

"Brooklyn... You look gorgeous, I knew the dress was beautiful but you in it is just..."

She paused.

"Words that mean more than just beautiful."

My face felt hot from the compliment.

"Likewise."

"Now, may I take my beautiful date to the dance?"

She asked charmingly with one hand sticking out waiting for mine.

"Hm, you may," I smirked.

I placed my hand in hers and we both walked to her Audi, she came to the passenger seat side and opened the door for me.

"How sweet." I cooed.

She laughed and made eye contact with me with her beautiful dark cat eyes.

~~~~~~
After entering the warmth of the Grand Nine, we were quickly noticed by a couple people. The crowd was large and my heart started to feel heavy with regret. I can't socialize, why is everyone staring?
"I wonder where Ellie is." I heard her say.
She distracted me from the thought of others looking, I scanned the crowd to see Donovan and the group.
"Never mind, I see the group."
Unexpectedly she grabbed my hand and started to pull through the crowds, overhearing I started to hear whispers.
"Who is she?"
"Are they dating?"
"Low-life."
I started to feel uneasy. The whispers were loud but it shouldn't be too loud. My eyes trailed to our hands, were we dating? I mean, I don't think I can handle another relationship right now. Kadence probably doesn't have the same feelings for me regardless, she probably sees me as a best friend.
We made it to the high white cloaked table with the others and they started to discuss among themselves. I looked towards Donavon and he rolled his eyes, was I that much of annoyance? The band was nice, not that many people were dancing, servers were walking around with Champagne. I mean this is allowed? I keep forgetting Mason Grover is invested with millions.
I looked towards Kadence and she was talking to Ellie and Jamie, the guys were talking about football practice. Apparently, we are going to states championships. I gripped my purse and stiffened my back feeling more uncomfortable.
I looked at the stage to see the band and groups standing near it with glasses in their hands. A server went by and my eyes drifted to see Casey in a white long sleeve top with a black bowtie topping it off. Her tray seemed empty, she walked off into the back kitchen and disappeared.
"You okay?" Kadence asked.
I looked over again to meet her eyes.
"Y-Yes, I'm fine."
"You don't really look fine."
"I'm just nervous..." I trailed off.
"Everything is going to be okay, I promise."
The band changed the song into something slow and people started to gather in the center with their partners, Edge of Desire by John Mayer. What a classic, I gave out a small laugh.
"Would you care to dance?" She asked smoothly.
I nodded lightly, and she pulled my hand slowly to the floor. Before we could even make it our hands were broken apart by a server accidentally running into us backward. Turning around Casey's face appeared from the corner of the tray.
"Oh... I'm sorry. Would you like a glass?" She asked.
"Uh, no thanks..." I mumbled.
She sat the tray to the side and looked at me with pleading.
"Good, because I was looking for you and I wasn't really looking forward to being a server tonight. Would you like to dance?" She asked.
Her back faced Kadence and I saw her eyes looking over Casey's shoulder with a bit of annoyance. She tapped her shoulder and Casey spun around to see her face.
"I'm sorry, but that's my date," Kadence said sternly.
"Oh? Well, I'm currently taking your date."
"Excuse me? No, you are not." I said aggressively.
"Want a bet?"
Casey swiftly took my hand and brought me to the middle of the floor, I didn't have the chance to let go of her hand because of her tight grip. I tried looking for Kadence while she pulled me into the crowd but there was just too much.
I felt her hands wrap around my waist.
"What are you doing Casey..." I nearly whispered.
"Dancing with you, I have to make it up to you."
"We've already had this conversation."
"No, we haven't. You didn't get to hear what my heart has to say."
She paused, I looked up and around the ceiling to see blue and purple lights subtly resting against the walls. The place was quite dim, but it was nice. I didn't wrap my arms around her neck, I wanted Kadence hands within mine.
"Listen... I know you won't forgive me, but I love you. I don't give up on something that I love, I know I cheated which is a real bitch move and a low move. I can never forgive myself for that, I broke your trust and I am so sorry. You were and still are my best friend Brooklyn but I can't just let go of you."
"Casey..."
"No, please let me finish. I know you won't take me back, but I am still going to keep trying I want all of you. Truth is right now though is that I actually stole this suit from the catering rack and is now pretending to be one. I did this so I could talk to you because I knew every other time I would try you would walk away from it. Except now, I am telling you that I want you and only you. I love you, Brooklyn..."
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned to see Kadence, Ellie, and Jamie. They all seemed shocked.
"Hold up," Jamie said.
"You guys were a thing?" She asked.
Kadence didn't say a word, and neither did she look at me but she looked at Casey with anger. I didn't say anything.
"Yes, we were a thing, except now I'm just waiting for an answer." She responded.
"You never told me you dated anyone." Kadence finally spoke.
I kept my mouth shut, I didn't bring up Casey because I didn't find it necessary.
"Well, she did."
"So, she's your ex..."
Kadence looked at me, I nodded.
"Unbelievable." I heard Kadence scoff.
Why was she mad? I mean we weren't a thing so why did she care? I slowly pushed the noise out of my head and started to feel hot. I looked over to see Kadence and Casey arguing, it looked like Kadence was about to pummel her. Why though? Casey grabbed my shoulder and pulled me behind her. Ellie was trying to calm Kadence down and Jamie kept Casey from doing anything.
My throat started to feel constricted, I messed up, it's my fault yet again. I should've never come, I started to feel the tears fall out of nowhere. I turned around and next thing I knew I was running out of the Grand Nine.
I heard my name being called by both Casey and Kadence, yet I simply ignored it. I can't do this, I don't want to choose but I already know who I want. I felt under pressure and why would Casey tell me that, all I wanted was out. I wanted to go home.
I felt the cold air hitting my face, a man in a black suit appeared next to me and hailed me a taxi.
"Please take me to Greenville road," I said trying to clear my sobs.
I'll be there soon hopefully, I just want comfort.
A/N: Where will Brooklyn go? JEEZ, I'm starting to make myself mad at all this drama! This chapter is pretty long but knowing you guys will eat this up quick won't be a problem.
