Chapter Twenty-Nine- Her Birthday

Julian's Pov

Seeing the look on her face when she opened her present was worth every single cent I spent on it. it was definitely a pain to find something like that but when I did I knew it would be perfect. I'm sure she suspects that it was a lot, but money means nothing to me when it comes to her.

Now as I watch her shimmy out of her clothes and I see it sparkle from the rays of light, she takes my breath away. She's so beautiful and I don't mind one bit seeing her in a bikini and I felt the urge to touch her so I ran up and grabbed her so I could toss her in the water before joining Lacey with her.

There were perks to being so big and this was one of them. I was standing in the water, it coming up to my chest while they both struggled to stay above it and every time they would jump on me to try to bring me down it was a pretty useless attempt; they were just tiring themselves out at this point.

"Are you two done yet?" I asked and Lacey humped and swam away while Bailey swam in front of me, she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled herself up, wrapping her legs around me waist.

"Thank you." she kissed my cheek and pulled her face closer so I could kiss her, I could never get tired of that.

"You're welcome pretty girl."

"Don't do it again, it's too much." She told me and I rolled my eyes

"You obviously know that's not happening." I walked farther in and she frowned and let go to lean back into the ocean, keeping her legs wrapped snugly around me, that part I noticed and there was no way she didn't feel how I noticed.

"Perv." She smiled but kept her eyes closed as she took in the sun and smell of the ocean.

"Having a good birthday?" Lacey came and floated next to her, she cracked an eye open and smiled before she nodded

"Best birthday ever." She sighed in content.

"I'm glad. It was all so last minute and if we weren't stuck here I would take you out to dinner or something." Lacey was so worried about not being able to do enough for her.

"This is perfect Lacey, I couldn't ask for a better day than spending it with you two. You both mean everything to me." they both meant the world to me too.

"Next year we can all go out" I suggested

"I hope we're all still talking next year." She mumbled

"We will be. I'm not letting you go so easily, Bay." I told her and she shrugged. She was so set on this being done when I left, she didn't see that there was no way that could happen. There was no way I could or would just walk away from her.

There was no one else I wanted to be with and no one else I wanted by my side to support me when things got hard. She may feel weak but she's a rock to me.

"We're best friends forever." Lacey told her

"And Lacey's like a sister now; you can't just get rid of family no matter how much you want to." I smiled and she stuck her tongue out at me

"You love me."

"I do." I agreed.

Bailey and I were the only ones who didn't say It to each other and as I look down at her I think about it.

Do I love her?

What is love and how do you know if you love someone?

Is it seeing a future with them or not being able to see one without them?

Is it the overwhelming need to protect them from everything and want to be by their side all the time?

What distinguishes love from like and is there a difference between loving someone and being in love with them?

Does it hit you suddenly or is it something you have to think about like I'm doing right now?

If I loved her wouldn't I already know it?

I care so deeply for her and I want to be with her and help her yet I can't bring myself to say that I love her but I can't bring myself to say that I don't.

So I'm in other words I'm completely confused on my feelings for her.

We stayed in the water the rest of the day and came out when the sun started to set. Lacey sat beside me resting her head on my shoulder while Bailey sat in front of me and leaned back against my chest.

"I know I've said it before but this is the best birthday ever, hell It's the best day ever. When I'm having a bad day I'll always look back on this." we sat there in the fading light.

"Me too." I told her

"This is beautiful." Lacey said. We sat there for a little longer before we went back to the facility to shower off and watch some movies, probably frozen. Those girls are obsessed with it and watch it damn near every single day; then they sing every song too.

It was cute at first, now it makes me want to bash my head against the wall.

"I'll give you two a minute." She said and headed back up "I call shower first." She added and ran up.

"Of course she does." Bailey mumbled and I smiled

"I'm glad you had a good day." I told her sincerely. I joined our hands together and walked with her down the beach; it was awesome with the three of us but I loved spending time with just her.

"Me too. I was thinking this would be horrible and I'd spend it in bed watching Disney movies."

"The night's still young."

"And there's enough time to watch Frozen!" she yelled and I groaned

"That damn movie. What would happen if it suddenly, you know, just went missing?" I asked her and she stopped and glared at me with a complete serious face

"Don't you dare Julian Cole." She snapped and I held up my free hand in surrender

"I won't, I promise." I smiled as we went back to walking; it was cute how defensive she got over that movie.

"I love the beach." She stopped to look at the darkness where we knew the water was

"Bailey, do you like being with me?" I asked her suddenly and she looked up at me

"Of course." She bumped my hip with hers, her smile lighting up her face.

"I need you to know I'm not just going to get out of here and leave you, I'm not going to cut off contact and I'm not going to forget you."

"I understand your life and mine are very different; you'll have girls all over you and you deserve to do your own thing without me holding you back. You have a career and a life." I pulled her hand so she stopped walking and turned her to face me.

"I don't give a damn about any other girl; they can try all they want." I put my hands on her face and looked down into her eyes, the lights around casting a glow on her face. "I want you Bailey and just you. No one else matters to me. Be my girlfriend." I said to her softly and her eyes widened in surprise again and she sighed

"I don't want to hold-"

"Don't. Don't make excuses or bullshit me. If you want to be with me just say yes Bailey, it's that simple. Don't complicate it and don't try to find faults with our relationship. Just tell me what you want." I said to her.

"I want you." she whispered before she closed her eyes and I couldn't help pulling her into my arms so I could get her as close as possible to kiss her. "Yes." She said to me and I smiled. Bailey Chandler was mine and I'll be damned if I let her go.

"Officially the best day ever." She said as she pulled back for air before crashing her lips back to mine.

So... :)
He asked her.. :)
