He stumbled with as Ishita left her weight on him, wrapping her arm around him. Patting her hairs softly he tried to comfort her in that mournful environment.

"How did it . . . I mean so suddenly. . ." he moved his gaze toward her father "I talked to him 1 hour ago only, he was so excited for the marriage."

"Pata nahi kiski najaar laggai, meri bacchi ko." Madhivi cried eyeing her daughter's smudged henna.
(I don't know who cursed my daughter's happiness.)

"It was Hit and Run case." Viswa diverted his eyes to wipe his tears "On the spot . . ."

"Oh my God." he whispered as Viswa's word trailed.

"Ishita. Go freshen up." He softly patted her back as he shook her head in his nape. "Ishita go, baby. Mihika, help her."

Mihika wiped her tears before nodding her head softly.

"Akka, come." She muttered pulling Ishita's arm softly.

"Nahi." Ishita cried latching to him more "Mujhe pata hai. Tum bhi mujhe xodke chale jawoge."
(No, I am not going anywhere. I know you will also leave me.)

Her family members tried to control their tears but they moved in their own accordance.

"No, baby." He brushed his lips against her hair. "And I promise I will be here only."

"He also said the same." She wailed "He also promised in our engagement. He will always be beside me, never me alone."

"Shh, shh." He parted her from himself "Don't think about anything right now. Just freshen up. We will talk about it, later. hmm?"

She nodded softly as he wiped her tears. "Mihika." She helped her sister as he signaled her.

"Amma, I am taking her with me. You just pack her clothes." He declared as soon as the sisters left the hall.

"Par unki saadhi hone wali thi." Viswa tried to reason as his wife nodded at his words "Humhe waha bhi jana hoga."
(But they were about to get married. We should be there for them.)

"Kahi nai jaayegi meri bachi." Madhivi roared rubbing her tears and turned toward the young lad before added "Bohot suni humne aapki. Issne bola tha. Yeh rishta rehne do. Par nahi pariwar acha hai, yeh hai, wo ho. JIndagi kharab kardi meri bachi ki. Tu beth beta, mai saari packing kar dungi. Khayal rakhna hmm, apni bestie ka. Maa-papa yehi hai na?"
(My baby is not going there. Enough with what you think. He tried telling you, not this guy but no. Family is good, the groom is good. You destroyed her life. You sit here only. I will pack her things. Take care of your best friend, hmm? Your parents are here right?)

"Nahi, Amma." he shook his head softly and taking her hand on his he added "Maa-Papa kal aayenge, wo sangeet pe aane ka plan tha. But. . . Mai bas usko yaha se dur le jana chata hu. yaha usko yehi sab yaad aayega. Apko bharosa hai na mujhpe? Mai pura khayal rakhunga uska."
(No, Amma. They were planning to come tomorrow for the fuction, but. . . I just want to her to be away from all this things. It will only nag her. You trust me right? I will take care of her.)

"Tujhpe hi toh bharosa se." She pecked his forehead softly "Meri bachi ke aakho mei, ek bud aasu nahi aane dega."
(Of course, I trust you, only. You won't let her shed a single tear.)

He smiled with tears in his eyes.

"Tumhe bhi lagta hai, meri galti hai? Mujhe yeh rista jodna hi nahi chayiyetha." He turned toward her father as he asked him.
(Do you also think it was my fault? I should not have tied this relation)

Their trace was broken as his mobile beeped.

Done boss. On the spot. Waiting for other half of my payment. It was good working with you.

"I don't know, Appa." He mumbled looking the board of the table "Ashok weds Ishita." clearly visible with the fairy lights around it.

"But I did tell you, I don't see them together." Raman whispered to himself  "I can't."
