"Aap mere saath flirt kar rahe the."
(Have you been flirting with me?)

Raman passed his wife of five month a look before shifting his attention towards the ongoing football match.

Just because he didn't know how to react.

All these months, he was going out of his way to do something for her and getting angry with her for involving family and kids in their plans. Only to realise now that, she didn't even know about his feelings.

True he hadn't the best plans.

Asking her for picnic in dining table on kid's holiday wasn't a great idea.

Or that stupid art museum his in-laws were interested was a date place.

Or offering a long drive infront of his kids.

Or saying that the matar paneer could use a little more salt.

Or saying her kapdoki taan were irritating. (They were irritating, always distracting him.)

Or saying that she looked like tomato. (He was referring to her red chubby cheeks.)

Or saying that she looked like a green chilly. (He was trying to distract himself from getting lost on her.)

(And what did she actually expect him to say. "Oh Ishita. You look so beautiful. Maybe I am falling in love. No you don't look fat, you should actually eat more. I would love some fat on your waist though it still looks like a fine art. No Ishita the food is so delicious, I would kiss your hands if the whole family wasn't here. Can you leave the kids to their room, I also want your attention." And many more.)

And considering her reaction maybe that would have worked.

But shouldn't she know him and his sarcastic tongue till now.

(Not that she had any chance to know his tongue, if you know what he means.)

Anyway, the point being he ignored her like she ignored him and his (suppose to be) flirty one liners.

He was focusing on the television only when he had his lap full with a certain Madrasaan.

"Kya kar rahi ho. Haadiya toot rahi hai meri." He muttered before he could help it, his arms already on her waist.

(What are you doing? I can hear my bones breaking.)

"Aapko flirt kar bhi nahi aata." He tired to control the blush that he felt was appearing on his cheeks.
(You don't even know how to flirt.)

"Yehi ho na tum?" He muttered as she placed her head on his shoulder.
(You are still here though.)

"Haan yehi hu. Hamesha k liye."
(Yep, I am here. Forever)

Maybe Raman is not as charming as those magazines say about him but what matters was his wife understood his flirting and she was beside him.

Actually on his lap but that's actually a plus point.

*****

I always wanted some this type of scene. Where Raman actually accepts that he was indeed flirting or his one liners were his ways of controlling himself. 😉

And it just made sense after the last drabble.
