"Ishita." She hummed against the phone as he softly muttered.

"Mujhe samajh mai nahi aaraha kese kahu." she smiled to herself.
(I really don't know how to say this to you.)

Just say it Raman. God, I have been waiting for this moment for forever. Finally.

Ishita somehow calmed herself down.

"You know how important academic qualifications is for our parents." She nodded softly.

After all she had chosen the medical just because she heard his mother exclaiming she wanted a doctor for daughter-in-law. Nothing less.

"They are so happy for you completing your degree . . ." She pursued her lips.

Even though they had 2 year age gap, their parents being close friends and neighbours, they were close from childhood.

And for her, since she knew the meaning of crush, liking, love; he had been her everything.

She had expected him to be in her graduation party. But everyone was there expect him and finally he called. Informing how he urgently needed to visit Mumbai and how sorry he was.

"You will also look down on me." She frowned hearing him.

"No, Raman. I will never. Just tell me." She sincerely replied.

She was worried.

He didn't have some affair right?

He isn't going to confess about his girlfriend or his wife or his kids.

Aaiyo Murugan.

She was this close to crying when the silence prolonged.

"I lied to everyone." She hold her breath "I have a back paper."

"What?" She exclaimed.

"I mean to tell you. I was just scared and with everyone praising about your studies I-"

"Saram nahi aati aapko?" She cut him in mid. His confused sound irritating her more "Khud toh fail hote ho. Aur biwi doctor chahiye? Pata hai kitni mehnat lagi mujhe. Pathiyam."
(Are not you ashamed of yourself? You failed a paper and you want a doctor wife? Do you know how much I suffered? Idiot )

She slammed her phone on the table trying to compose herself and not spoil the mood of others.

"Chal madrasaan. Bet ke paisa nikal." Toshi forwarded her hard.
(Come on. Bet's money.)

"Dost se paise legi?" Madhivi tried to play  innocent.
(You will take money from your friend?)

"Bet bet hoti hai. Dost wost kuch nahi. Chal paise nikal." Toshi glared not giving in her charms.
(Bet is bet. There is no such thing as friend in it. Come on, give me the money.)

"Yeh Ishu. Wese toh bolti rehti thi, commerce lena hai. Raman ke college jana hai. Office mai help karengi par nahi,     aur ab 11th me science lena hai. Doctor banna hai madam ko." Madhivi grumbled to herself before giving Toshi five thousands bills.
(This Ishu. Always used to say, she will pursue commerce. Will join Raman's college. Will help Raman in office. But now she wants to pursue commerce. Wants to become doctor, idiot.)

"Sorry meri jaan. But bet mai sab chalta hai. Wese bhi you can always change back  to commerce after 12th in you want." Toshi muttered to herself,   smiling to Ishita.
(Sorry, love. But everything is fair in bet. And anyway you can always change back to commerce after 12th if you want.)

Ishita happily offered her the sweets for getting admission in Delhi's best college.
