"Reza open the door or I will bury you alive once I come in" Anya yelled and banged on his bedroom door again.

"Just go away, Anya" Reza yelled from the other side.

"I said open the fucking door" she yelled again and Reza's mother gasped hearing her curse.

"And I said no" he yelled.

Anya accompanied Reza to the hospital yesterday to get his reports. The doctor who was going to treat Reza said he needs to undergo some therapy sessions so that he can recover. Although the chances of his surviving was very less Anya wanted him to take the sessions.

"Reza I am saying this one last time. If you don't open the door I am going to either call your doctor here or drag you to the hospital" she banged on his door again.

"I don't want to take the therapy. It's useless" Reza said.

"I am not your mother who will be effected by your words. Get your ass out of your room right now. We are already thirty minutes late" she said.

"Stop forcing me, Anu" he said.

"Please open the door, Reza. For the sake of our friendship" and she used her weapon. She was sure this is going to work.

There was silence for a minute. Anya sighed in defeat. If this is not going to change his mind nothing can. Reza's mother gave a sad smile to Anya who was trying hard to control her tears.

"Once his Baba comes home we will try to explain him" his mother said softly patting her head. Anya can't believe that his 25 year old friend was behaving like a 5 year old. She looked at the door one last time and made her way towards the main gate. She specially took a day off from her office so that she could accompany Reza.

"I have ordered his medicines so you don't need to worry about that" Anya said to his mother and picked up her purse from the sofa. "I will take your leave now. Bye" she added.

"I thought you were coming with me" came Reza's voice. Anya who was about to step out of the house halted. "But I guess I have to go alone" Reza continued.

"I will be waiting in the car" saying this Anya left. She was happy that finally he was coming but something broke in her after knowing the fact that her bestfriend has somewhere already given up on his life without even fighting. She was angry and will definitely confront him  but right now going to the hospital was more important.

The drive to the hospital was silent. Reza could sense her anger and decided not to speak anything. To him Anya distancing herself from him seemed like a great idea. He could never see her cry and he knew that once he will be gone Anya will shed tears everyday remembering him.

The session was peaceful. Anya patiently waited for his therapy to get over. Once they were done for the day Anya took Reza to their secret spot. It was a place where they hanged out a lot. No one knew about this place except for the two. She parked the car and got out banging the door in the process.

"Are you still upset?" Reza asked as he too got down.

"You tell me Reza should I be happy about the fact that my best friend has already given up on his life?"

"Anya you too know that the cure for this is very expensive and the doctor clearly said that my chances of surviving is very less. Then what's the point of spending so much money?"

"Is it about money? I will pay for it. You don't have to spend a penny" she said.

"It's not about that. Once I will be gone and so will the money, how are my parents going to survive?"

"Firstly stop saying that you will be gone. Reza, how can you give up without fighting? What if you survive? Reza, you have taught me to fight with my fears, you have protected me since our diaper days. Now it's my turn to teach you to fight with your fears and protect you. All I want you to do is have faith in yourself that you can survive this. There is nothing in this world from which we can't fight together" she said. He remained silent.

"Promise me that you will fight. Promise me that you won't give up till your last breath because I promise that I will never give up on you" she cupped his cheeks and tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I promise I won't" and with that he engulfed her in a bone crushing hug.

Anya and Reza were strong as an individual but were stronger together. For Reza, Anya was his soulmate. Having a soulmate is not always about love. You can find your soulmate in a friendship too.
