➹Damon when, he contemplated what his life would return to with you ; if he didn't save Bonnie.

Damon Salvatore had spent two years without the love of his life. The woman he swore to always love and hold dearly.

The same woman whom was in a sleeping spell conducted by the malicious Kai Parker, two years ago.

Y/n layed in a casket in the Salvatore tomb  (mystic falls) and each day she would remain there until her best friend Bonnie Bennett died , releasing y/n from the sleep spell connection.

Damon was in the middle of a conversation with Bonnie on the streets of Amsterdam.

The witch was too engrossed by talking while Damon noticed the oncoming vehicle.

Heading straight for Bonnie. The vampire knew his hesitation to save Bonnie was wrong.

He was aware of how terrible it was of him to have second thoughts about saving the Bennett but with Y/n being involved here , you couldn't blame him.

Damon pictured what it would be like to hold Y/n, to kiss her, love her and be with the woman he so desperately yearned for.

The vehicle got closer and Bonnie's voice slowly returned to Damon's attention but he still couldn't bring himself to save the witch.

In that second his thoughts took him to various memories of you two and what it would be like to finally get you back!

To hold your hand and smile fondly at how perfectly they fit or to brush his fingers across your skin or feel the warmth from your hand as you cupped his cheeks while kissing him tenderly.

Damon wanted it desperately and it was within arms reach if only and only if he allowed Bonnie to die right here, right now.

❝Damon,promise me you'll help Bonnie live her human life to the fullest. Promise me you'll wait for me no matter how long it takes❞

❝i promise❞

Damon recalled the promise he had made and in the nick of time he snatched Bonnie off the road and to safety as the van rushed by, honking (hooting) as it did so. Leaving a shaken up Bonnie and a vampire that knew he did right by his girl and her witch bff. He would get Y/n back in due time and Damon was prepared to wait however long it would take...
