Finally school was over, and I slung my backpack over my shoulder. Another week, I had managed to go on throughout the day unnoticed. Well, except for those wierd guys.. Nendou tried to offer me ramen, and Kaidou tried to offer me ninja lessons. Every day. I was fine with neither.

I figured I needed to get a job soon to afford my cravings. My parents hated coffee jelly, but I loved it. So they wouldn't buy me any. I had to provide it for myself. I was almost out of the door when I suddenly bumped into a soft chest. The smell of fruit and spring flowers entered my nostrils before I even looked up. When I did, my eyes immediatly burned.

The girl was glowing. I had to back away and squint. "Oops, I'm sorry." When I adjusted to her brightness, my jaw dropped. The goddess smiled, blinding me even more by her smile that would make a dentist weep in joy. She let out a heavenly laughter. Boys gathered behind her at the sound of her voice, immediately angry at me for disturbing her.

"Oh, that's okay!" She consoled them with a voice of an angel. In her head I heard Who does this girl think she is bumping into me, the most perfectly pretty girl?!

The angel's eyes dazzled in the florescent lighting, twinkling with perfection and etherealness. Her eyes... there was something off-putting about them. Her face was beautiful, but it dimly reminded me of something bad. I took another step back and gulped. Her eyes shone with something cold; maybe she was aware of her powerful presence, but anyone around her would only assume she was innocent and pure. I was terrified of this woman; her aura radiated power and invincibility.

"What's your name? I don't believe I've seen you around?" She tilted her head and looked at me in the eyes, asking. I felt as if I was mush. If she hadn't seen me around, I guess that was good. I'd been here a week now, anyways. That meant being invisible was working. Well, maybe not anymore, since I was being greeted by the school's most pretty girl. Dozens of students crowded to see what was going on.

"Kai- uhh, Y/n, I mean." Sweat gathered on my brow. I'd have to be careful here; there were so many surprises I might be caught slipping up and revealing my old identity. Among the sea of students begging for the girl's attention, I saw a familiar pink haired boy. Instead of gazing at the girl's beauty like everyone else, he was looking at me. At least I thought so, until I blinked and he was gone.

"That's a beautiful name," she said, "my name is Kokomi Teruhashi." Teruhashi flipped her hair and blasted me with a watermelon coconut scent. I almost fell to my knees, and the boys in the background actually did. I'm not a simp for anyone, I had to remind myself.

When I didn't respond, I heard her think: Wow, I bet she's thinking I'm the most beautiful pretty perfect girl ever. I bet I've just made her day by complimenting her.

She was gorgeous, but now that just saw her real attitude, I came back to reality. Clearly she thought she was above everyone and wasn't actually a perfect girl. I cleared my throat and pushed past her, leaving a whiff of my own boring scent: vanilla. Who does she think she is?! Screamed the fraud girl, in her mind. I rolled my eyes. She was just a brat deep down.

I'd made it to the gates. Finally I could go to town to look for a job. Suddenly two morons appeared beside me. They started up a conversation without my consent, irking me. All I wanted was to buy some coffee jelly and apply for a job, unbothered by abnormal twits.

"Hey," chirped a short guy. I turned my head to see Kaidou's eyes peering at me through his bandaged fingers, glimmering with that same mischievous spark as earlier. Clearly he couldn't take a hint when I sped up.

"Buddy!" exclaimed Nendou, speeding up to match my pace. Because he was so tall, I was looking up at him; a forest of dark hair and green creatures stared at me from his nose. I shuddered and gripped my backpack straps tighter.

"You wanna go get ramen? I could go for some ramen right now." Nendou flicked a booger.

"We could head to my place- uh, secret base. I've got some wicked ninja training I need to practice for my ultimate battle with the Dark Reunion," said Kaidou, missing his kick at a rock and almost tripping.

"I could teach you some powers if you wanted." He chuckled deeply and stuck his hands in his pocket, as if trying to be mysterious. Oh God my hands are so sweaty ahh my palms are soaked!! His inner thoughts screamed. I cringed. I couldn't read Nendou's, but obviously he was too dumb to have the powers that tried to read me earlier today.

"No, thanks. I'm just going to head to town now, so you-" I started, brushing my bangs out of my eyes. Everyone else had left me alone, so why couldn't these guys?

"Oi, Saiki!!" shouted Kaidou. I stopped walking and looked over my shoulder. A guy with flaming pink hair was gritting his teeth. With my enhanced hearing, I could hear him muttering a "Good grief," under his breath.

The boys invited him to walk. I assumed they would leave me alone now, but they'd only added on. What a burden.

"Hey, Saiki, meet my buddy, Y/n." Nendou patted me on the back and I almost fell forward. Were these guys really so desperate for friends that they had to harass the new, quiet, poor girl?

She's really pretty, ahh~ sh-should I try to hold her hand???

I glanced beside me to see a tomato-faced Kaidou. He looking like cotton candy with his blue hair and pink face. He pulled his clammy hand out of his pocket and dropped it, slowly creeping towards-

My eyes widened. "Uhh, I should get going." I stared at the ground and pushed away from them, but they kept trailing me. I sighed and let them catch up, figuring they wouldn't leave me alone anyways.

"I'm Kusuo Saiki," said the pink haired boy. I was surprised I was just now learning his name. He had been in my classes, but never really talked. I had saw Nendou and them talking, but they never introduced him to me before. I also caught him looking at me a lot. His eyes betrayed nothing as he gave me a polite bow. I returned the greeting. "Y/n." I said. Soon we reached town. My stomach was growling.

"Want some ramen, Y/n? Your stomach is kind of loud." Nendou bent down and stuck his face in my personal bubble. I jumped at the hideous sight.

"Actually, i was thinking more of..." I turned my head to see Saiki eyeing a sweets shop.

"Have you been there?" I asked. He perked up, looking at me. "Yeah, they have my favorite dessert."

I almost smiled. The tough guy's face lit up when he said those words.

"Coffee jelly?" I asked, hopeful. His eyes grew wide.

"Y-uh, yes, how'd you know?" The morons peeped into my view, watching our conversation. "Shh, they're bonding," whispered Nendou to Kaidou when he almost said something. You could have only heard it from where I was at if you'd had super hearing.

Saiki turned towards them, like bonding was a disgusting word. Wait- had he heard??

"Wishful thinking," I replied, like five seconds late. I turned to go to the shop. The others followed. A sign that said "We're Hiring!" was taped onto the glass window.

"Think I can get a job here?" I asked out loud. Kaidou blurted, "You're definitely pretty enough."

Our heads whipped towards him. I was pretty much as tall as him, so that was bold. I pretended like I hadn't heard, though, and let Saiki open the door for me. My hands grazed door bar on impulse and made contact with his hand.

An electric buzz zipped through me like some sort of wattpad novel. I thought I heard a She must be different, but among the many thoughts, I wasn't sure. We both seemed to notice, though, because he made eye contact with me again. My cheeks reddened.

"I wonder if they have ramen," interrupted Nendou. He belched and pushed me forward. I nearly tripped, but was quickly steadied by the sweet smell of Japanese treats. I just knew this place had the best coffee jelly.

Kaidou and Nendou raced to a booth, bumping each other like middle schoolers. The blue haired klutz tripped and banged his forehead on the table. Nendou freaked out and shook him to near death. I just rolled my eyes and found a seat near the corner of the shop.

Saiki sat down with me, and this time, his eyes looked urgent. He seemed too conflicted to say anything, so instead just picked up a menu and cleared his throat." The whipped cream here is good, too. The price is worth it."

I nodded, flipping to my desired dessert. The waitress came and I ordered what he did. I was eager to try out this town's coffee jelly.

"Where are you from?" Saiki asked me. His eyes seemed to intensely judge me. I tried not to let my heartbeat quicken.

"I'm, uh... just Hasumaki. It's a smaller area; you probably don't know it." It doesn't even exist. I just made it up.

His eyebrow jumped but he nodded. "Why did you transfer here?"

"Oh, you know.." I said. "Family job offer. My father moves frequently." Nice. I congratulated myself. The typical family job lie always worked. Maybe not on him, though, because what he said next startled me.

"I know you're lying." He leaned forward, searching my eyes. My breath caught in my throat.

"W-what do you mean?" Great, I'm already blowing my cover. Only Wattpad main characters stutter like this.

"I think you know what I mean," he said. He sat back and seemed to think. Saiki picked at his hand like he was taking off an invisible glove.

"You're hiding something, aren't you?"

"I... don't know what you mean," I replied with a poker face. I had to be careful not to let my emotions show.

Suddenly he reached out and grabbed my arm. My eyes widened when the same energy rippled through my body. Just as quickly as he had grabbed it, he dropped my arm. His eyes darted around, and he looked confused.

"What the hell!" I spat, retracting my arm from the table. He was a freak. I'd definitely been suspicious of this trio, but now I knew I had to avoid them.

Saiki looked up at me. His expression was still confused, but maybe a little less than before.

"You're not who anyone thinks you are, are you, Y/n?" he asked, leaning forward again. His eyes pierced my soul.

"or, would you rather Kaiyato Hinashi?"

My eyes widened. There was no way-
how did he-

"Here you guys are." I jumped. A waitress delivered 2 cups of coffee jelly. I swiped mine and held it, but had to intention of eating it. My stomach was twisted in a painful, confused knot.

"There's my buddies!" bellowed Nendou, sliding into the booth beside me. I wanted to sit beside her. thought Kaidou, a frown donning on his lips. He slid in next to Saiki, who was looking out of the window, silent.

"Soooo," said Nendou, budging my shoulder with his elbow. "how are you guys getting along?"

I swallowed, a cold sweat coating my body. I glanced at Saiki. He glanced at me, eyes seeming powerful, but not evil. Just curious.

Still, how did he know who I was? Could he possibly be a psychic as well?

"Are you gonna eat that?" asked Nendou, stealing my coffee jelly and spoon. He shoveled it into his mouth without an answer.

Not anymore, I thought.
