"Don't do anything to Y/n," Saiki's words echoed through my mind as I changed out of my uniform, "know your place. You can't have everything in the world."

He had stood up for me. It was hard to fight the butterflies in my gut. Could he care for me? The weird grumpy alien boy liked me? But Teruhashi hadn't even said aloud her plans- how did he know- it can't be," I said in denial, shaking my head as I threw on my casual outfit. "There's no way... maybe he just had intuition."

I told myself that, but I didn't believe it. There was something off about the boy, and if I had crazy sci-fi powers, I wasn't so sure a guy like Saiki couldn't have them, too.

Sleep will do me better, I thought. Later, I tossed and turned in my bed. Sleep didn't come easy. Eventually I did find rest... But it only stirred my angst up more; when I went to bed, I had a dream about Saiki. I dreamt he showed me his magical powers, ones of all sorts of random tricks. He could make clones of himself and bend spoons with his mind.

The next day, I shook off my suspicions of Saiki. I decided to go to the party and enjoy myself. I would go after school to find a dress; I'd originally planned on wearing some random jeans, but they were dirty and if Teruhashi was going to be a bitch, I might as well give a show. That way she'd have something to bitch about.

I found the gang waiting outside after school. They were discussing the green haired dude's party probably. I saw Kaidou, Teruhashi, Nendou, and the green hair dude. But where was Saiki?

There he is. I saw him creeping away from the group. He was attempting to sneak behind a bush.

"Saiki? I greeted him, drawing attention to myself and the runaway grump.

"What is up with you?" he grumbled like usual, displeased to have his escape disrupted.

"Where are you going, buddy?" demanded Nendou, suddenly behind the two of us. He gripped our shoulders, and a foul stench drifted into my nostrils. It smelled like spoiled ramen.

"Oh, hey Y/n," said Teruhashi. Her cheeks were pink from holding in a laugh. I'm sure she was enjoying our torture. But I glanced at Saiki, and I couldn't help smile at the face he was making. I almost forgot he had emotions. His current one displayed was of annoyance/disgust.

Whoa, Y/n and Teruhashi just smiled!!! thought Kaidou. "You look so pretty, Y/n!" he blurted. He blushed and covered his face. He really had a talent at turning red. We turned to stare at him and amaze over the vibrant pink-ity.

"He's almost as pink as your hair," I whispered to Saiki. He glanced down at me to glare.

"Hey buddy! Your bandages are rubbing off on your face!" screamed Nendou, concerned. He rushed over to his friend's aid and immediately scrubbed Kaidou's face. This time the red that was displayed was blood instead of embarrassment.

"Nendou MY FACE!" Kaidou screeched and ran off while sobbing into his ribboned hands. Nendou followed; Hairo appeared out of nowhere and gave the both of them a piggyback ride to the nurse's office.

"Enough about that," said Takahashi. "What are you losers bringing to my birthday party?" I glanced at his face and was tempted to say 'a mask'. Anything that covered his face would be a great fit. To call him ugly was an understatement, to be honest. Even when Teruhashi became aware of his presence she stepped away.

We discussed what we would bring. I had a couple of orders to get, said he could handle them with me.

"I can too!" shouted Hairo, racing to our group from the school building. He held Kaidou on his back, face covered in white bandages. There was no way he could see a thing. Nendou tagged along, but got distracted by a butterfly and tripped, pulling the other two down with him. We ignored them and began to walk out of the school gates.

"I've got it," said Saiki, telling everyone to back off. He was a skinny, pale guy who didn't exactly look very capable of carrying the amount of food we had, but everyone was afraid to challenge him.

"Okay, but what are we wearing?" asked Teruhashi.

You should wear nothing, thought Takahashi. My lips curled in disgust. Boys.

"I'm going to wear a dress," I said, turning to Teruhashi. "I haven't got one yet, but I'm going shopping today." She was listening intently, trying to mask the rage she had for me.

"We should go shopping together!" she exclaimed. A scene showed in her head of me wearing a better dress than her; I got several 'oh wow's and she did not look happy to not be the one receiving them. "I'd love to see beforehand!"

"Can I see too? I can help you girls get prepped!" piped in Toritsuka. I'd forgot he was here; he was sitting on the ground, a little too close to Teruhashi's skirt. His eyes widened as drool dripped from his agape mouth, creeping closer to me and Miss Perfect.

"Get a life," said Saiki. He gritted his teeth, sending Toritsuka a glare.

"But- she said you guys weren't dating-" he tried defending himself.

"Doesn't mean she wants anything to do with you!" Saiki snapped.

"Neither does Teruhashi!" Takahashi added.

"It's true," we said in unison.

We settled and began splitting up. "What car is Aren bringing?" I asked Saiki. They said we'd be given Kuboyasu's services.

"Probably a gang of motor bikes," replied Saiki.

"What-"

"He was a former punk," he explained. I knew that, but it was still weird to have a gang.

"Did he tell you?" I was surprised that the tough guy would admit something like that. He covered his ripped muscles with an oversized jacket most of the time, and he even wore glasses. He clearly tried to maintain his presence as a good kid. I don't even think he told Kaidou.

"Let's just say I performed some background checks," mumbled Saiki, holding the door to Cafe Mami's open for me.

"How do you know everything about everyone?" I asked, puzzled.

Saiki just shrugged. "I told you, I'll reveal my secrets if you revealed yours."

I rolled my eyes and greeted the owner, telling him our pre order. He went to the back to retrieve it. Suddenly I felt creepy eyes staring at me. Once again, I had super-intuition. That's how I knew Aren was ripped, by the way; it's not like I spied on him and Kaidou at their sleepovers, so don't get the wrong idea.

Damn it. Why isn't she wearing her maid uniform? shouted the voice, furious and whiny. Saiki turned around before I could. He pulled a purple-haired perv from under the table.

"Good grief! it's always something with you," he said, exasperated. No, it wasn't Aren, it was Toritsuka Reita.

He whimpered and ran out of the store. In his desperate escape, he bumped into the cake carrier. The carrier twirled and threw the cake in the air. I watched in horror as the 5 stack strawberry shortcake came spiraling towards my face.

I turned away, closing my eyes as I accepted my fate. But it didn't hit me.

"Damn it," whispered Saiki. His rough, angry voice made my eyes pop back open in shock. That was kind of hot-

I MEAN THE CAKE WAS FROZEN IN MID AIR.

It adverted my body and plopped to the floor, right side up. Not a speck of dirt infected the precious dessert. I glanced to see the waiter's face, but he only looked relieved. Had I been the only one who saw what just happened? The cake stopped its destiny from my face... and floated down safely. That was no coincidence.

I turned to Saiki, and a bead of sweat glimmered on his cheek. My heart was pounding. It wasn't a dream now.

"Saiki Kusuo," I said, my volume barely a whisper. "You are a psychic."
