Autumn woke up abruptly to the sound of someone banging on her front door. She got out of bed, still half asleep, and walked out of her apartment to the door, almost tripping over the rug at the bottom of the stairs. As she approached the door, she saw Sheriff Anderson accompanied by two police officers standing outside. She cautiously opened the door. "Ray, please. It's very early and-" He cut her off "Autumn, I need to take you in for questioning." "What are you talking about?" "Your father is dead." Autumn drops to the floor in shock, unable to move or speak. She begins to cry as Ray stands there with a cruel look on his face as if the young girl was putting on an act. "Autumn, get up. You need to come down to the station to answer a few questions. We also need you to identify the body." Ray leaned down and practically picked Autumn up off of the floor. He carried her to his police car and drove to the station.

After forcing Autumn into the interrogation room, Ray sat down at the desk across from her. "Autumn, where were you last night." She was silent, still in disbelief of the news she was "greeted" with half an hour ago. "Autumn!" She jumped. "I was at the shop last night. We close at seven. After that I went up to my apartment." "And what did you do after you went up to your apartment? Did you leave at all?" "No Ray, I didn't." She paused "Is it true...?" "Yes." She looked down at her lap, fiddling with her jacket sleeves. "How?" She said softly. "What?" "How!?" Ray glared at her "Stabbed to death. In his motel room." A look of shock swept over her red face, soaked in tears. "You were the last person to see your father alive and I know that for a fact." "How do you know? Are you stalking me or something!? I know you have it out for me Ray. Do you really think I would do anything to hurt my own father?" "I'm not sure what you're capable of young lady I just know the facts and the facts are that you were the last person to see your father alive." "Are you stalking me?" "I'm looking into a suspect. That's what I'm doing." "What makes me a suspect?" "Everything!" "You are abusing your title Ray Anderson. In more ways than one. I will not let this go." "Is that a threat?" "Oh here we go. You are so full of shit!" "Miss Graves, I don't like your tone of voice." "And I don't like an officer of the law abusing his title and thinking he can do whatever he pleases and putting fear into the hearts of the people that live in this town." Ray made eye contact with Autumn, a displeased look shooting across the table. "Sheriff Anderson, I would appreciate it if you would release me." He started to turn red in the face with irritation. "You cannot hold me here if you are not charging me with anything. Now if you will excuse me, I need to go. I have to call my mom..." Autumn got up from the table and left the room, neglecting to shut the door behind her. "I'll be keeping an eye on you girl!" Ray shouted down the hallway.

After returning to her apartment, Autumn picked up the phone to call her mother and see if she had heard the terrible news. Worried, after hearing that the phone had been disconnected, she tried to call her brother, to which she heard the same message. She grew more and more terrified wondering what could possibly be going on with her family. Who would want to hurt her father? Why didn't her mother or brother answer the phone? She leaned back against the wall and slid down to the floor. As she began to cry, her phone started vibrating in her hand. "Hello?" She answered shakily through tears. "Your mother's dead. And I killed your brother too." The line went dead and she threw her phone across the room as she screamed. She took a moment to gather herself before getting up and running to the last place she wanted to be right now; the police station. She rushed into the building and ran straight to Ray's office, bursting through the door. "Someone just called me and-" "Don't you dare rush into my office like that! What is wrong with you?" "Shut up Ray and just listen for a second. Someone called me saying they killed mom and Jack." Ray looked confused. He completely suspected Autumn for her father's murder but had no idea that her mother and brother were dead as well, let alone murdered. "I don't believe you." "Why would I lie to you!?" "Get out of my office. Now!" "I'd like to make a report about someone threatening me and my family." "No one in this office will have anything to do with you. Do you want to know why? Because I am the one in charge here. I call the shots. I am the one who makes the final decisions around this town. No one will help you. Now leave." After yelling obscenities, she walked out of the police station and went back to her apartment.

Sitting in the middle of her living room floor, crying, she knew deep down that something evil was going on around her and that someone had to be willing to help her. She called a few customers that she was close with and looked on the internet trying to find someone who could help prove that she was innocent. She needed to find a detective, an outsider, someone who didn't grow up hearing the stories she heard, the tales of horror passed down from generation to generation. After a few hours of research she came across a team of detectives: Seth and Steven Arthur.
