"Your daughter is mute."

Jackson's face drained of all color and he swallowed as he looked down at his sleeping daughter; he couldn't believe that... that he would never be able to hear his little girl's voice... ever.

He looked back up at the doctor and nodded. "Thank you for your help in delivering them."

The doctor nodded and sent him a small smile. "It was my pleasure. I do apologize for the bad news."

"Yeah... Me too," he replied softly, looking back down at the sleeping bundle in his arms. He sighed softly then looked back at the doctor. "Please get them properly cleaned up because my protective instincts have yet to make an appearance and I'm not sure how much longer that is."

So without another word, he carefully handed the little girl over to the nurse that the doctor had summoned, watching as they left the room with his pups to quickly clean them.

Fuck.

His daughter was a special needs kid.

He couldn't help the hollow chuckle which escaped his lips before he turned to look at a still unconscious Arlo.

What would the Beta say after hearing the news? It was his fault but he just knew that Arlo would blame himself for their daughter's short-comings.

Fuck.

This wasn't how he expected things to go. He knew that life was no fairytale but to take his pup's ability to speak was something that he never even thought of happening.

What the fuck was he gonna do with a mute pup? Did he have to learn sign language or some shit like that?

He just knew that the media was gonna have a field day with this.

Look, he wasn't an insensitive arsehole but he just got told that his daughter was handicapped or something. His first child was a special needs kid so how the fuck was he supposed to handle that?

He didn't have any of them in his family so how would he know how to take care of one?

He released a soft sigh of aggravation, watching as the nurses cleaned Arlo before transferring him to another bed.

"He's going to be transferred to a room now, Mr. Whittaker," the Omega nurse from before informed him as they prepared to wheel the Beta out of the room.

Jackson nodded mutely and followed after them, taking his scrubs off as he went.

This whole situation was too much and he couldn't wait for Arlo to wake up.

He didn't know what to do in a situation like this. Didn't people usually give special needs children up for adoption or some shit like that?

He would need to speak it over with the Beta.

...

As Wolfie cleaned both him and the unconscious Omega, he heard someone's knuckles rapping against the driver's seat window and looked up in confusion. He leaned back in his seat after making sure that Danny was decent before turning the ignition on so that he could lower the window.

As it lowered, his eyes connected with those of a striking Beta who looked to be one of the Hospital's security staff.

"What do you want?" he deadpanned, propping his arm up on the window.

He raised an eyebrow as the Beta's eyes strayed to an unconscious Danny before returning back to Wolfie. "I apologize for the interruption sir, but there have been reports from Residents that there was a car in the parking lot rocking back and forth." The man gave him a tight lipped smile. "I presume that there's a good reason for that, no?"

Wolfie just shrugged. "There is. But I don't understand why that's a need for concern. The car is performing an action which it had been built to do and last I heard, a car rocking isn't any need for concern especially if it's parked."

The man levelled with an unimpressed look. "Cut the bullshit, sir. We both know exactly why the car was rocking."

Wolfie scoffed and leaned away from the window. "Is that so? And how did you come to that conclusion since I'm pretty sure that you hadn't been sitting in the backseat this entire time. Are you going to charge me for something based on your own inaccurate assumptions?

"Sir, may I see your license and registration please?"

"Absolutely not! What reason is there for you to ask for access of such documents?" Wolfie honestly didn't know what this man's problem was and unless he physically saw him committing a crime, there is no reason to have to show him his credentials.

The man released a sigh of aggravation at his stubbornness. "Is there a good reason for you to be parked here, sir?"

"It's a Hospital parking lot. Of course I'm here for a good reason." He turned to look at the Omega, a sly smirk forming on his lips which was gone a second later as he looked back at the guard. "You see, my dear fellow. My Omega here has been running a high fever ever seen I gave him his first Birth Control shot. He has been fighting me the duration of our ride to this Hospital and I've finally gotten him to sleep after a game of Harry Potter. I was Harry Potter and he was Ginny Weasley. I had Slither into the... no, his Chamber of Secrets to win the game and I did. It was a tight fit but I managed." He grinned at the guy who sent him a look of suspicion before sighing.

"Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to reading or watching Harry Potter so I do not understand your analogy. Other than that, please get your Omega admitted in case he is somehow allergic to the Injection," the guard replied, more than fed-up with the entire conversation. He nodded at him before walking away.

There really wasn't much he could do at the moment since the Alpha wasn't committing a crime. He needed probable cause if he were to demand his license and registration and to get him out of the car.

Wolfie chuckled lowly at his retreating back before winding the window back up and turning to a still unconscious Danny. "My dick is all the treatment he needs."

He grinned and grabbed a pen and a pad of sticky notes from the glove compartment and quickly wrote a note to the sleeping Omega for when he eventually woke up.

He wasn't going to interrupt Danny's sleep so he was heading into the Hospital by himself.

Danny needed rest after being marked.

He tore the sticky note off the pad and stuck it to the Omega's forehead.

After making sure that it stayed, he grabbed the spare car keys out of the glove compartment, leaving the ignition running with the air con on so that Danny wouldn't get heat stroke.

He had heard enough stories about babies or pets dying in heated cars and he wasn't about to lose his beautiful Omega over something that could easily be changed. So without a sound, he left the car and locked it behind him before walking towards the Hospital.

He hoped that Arlo was done giving birth because he wasn't up to spending how many hours in the waiting room eating crappy Hospital food.

Not to mention, he really didn't want to leave Danny alone for too long so soon after marking him.

In retrospect, he really should've marked the Omega immediately after Major had bonded with Jelly, but what could he do now?

They had agreed on waiting seven months to have a pup but now, there was a chance that Danny could be pregnant because Wolfie momentarily lost control and marked him. Don't get him wrong, he didn't regret it but the timing wasn't that great because the bond that is currently forming between them would get rid of any remnants of the birth control injection in Danny's system and while Wolfie still had the Alpha band on, it was no match for the the antibodies in his saliva.

So, he was more than certain that he was no longer wearing the Alpha band. He was also certain that it's been disintegrated by the forming bond and he would no doubt shit what's left of said band in the loo later.

In a Werewolf relationship, the submissive received two mate bites. One from the Werewolf after transforming, Major and one from the humanoid side, Wolfie.

Yes, they identified themselves as Humanoid. They aren't humans. They just looked like them on the outside. On the Inside... That's another matter.

Their internal organs weren't in the same position as those of humans and they had extra sets of everything which is why Omegas who are born with male genetalia could get pregnant.

Their Anatomy is vastly different than that of humans and he knew that for a fact because decades ago, their kind used to hunt Humans as sport to experiment on their bodies, to discover just how different they are to them.

That is the reason why their communities were separated by huge, towering walls that cannot be climbed at all. No human being nor Humanoid could ever reach the top of the walls without a special device that is currently kept deep within the Government base... Or so he's heard.

The only way that they could even see any humans and for any humans to wander into their communities is by the sea and even then, their kind had dumped all sorts of man-eating creatures in so only really resourceful Humans could even make it to their side.

And as mentioned before, Humans gave off a scent which can drive them into rages where the only thing on their mind was to hunt and kill.

Some Werewolves even went as far as to eat the Humans.

Yeah... Wolfie wasn't interested in that, at all. Humans were a different kind of Animal than what he felt comfortable eating.

His Grandparents had eaten Humans before when they were young and it was a sport but their world has moved forward since then.

They mostly saw the Humans as pests meant to be exterminated, but luckily for them, both of their communities had reached an agreement to stay far away from each other.

It was better for the Humans in the long run because they honestly were no match for the Werewolves. Their technology was way behind to ever be a match for them. Hell, they had experimented with Human diseases and the likes to pass the time and had already developed cures for diseases such HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Plague etc, all the major killers of the human world. That didn't mean that they were gonna give it to them.

That's their problem after all.

He broke out of his thoughts as he approached the doors leading into the Hospital and he couldn't help but grin as his eyes landed on the guard from before.

The man only glanced at him with a hint of irritation on his face before it was gone just as fast.

Oh, he really loved riling people up.

...

Jackson was sitting in one of those uncomfortable Hospital chairs as he stared into Arlo's eyes after relaying the news of their daughter's condition.

It didn't take long for him to wake up since they had advanced Healing, but he wished that he had more time to prepare himself for the myriad of emotions he was sure the Beta was going to display.

And just as expected, after telling the Beta, tears immediately gathered in his eyes and he began blaming himself for their daughter's defect.

Jackson honestly felt like a piece of shit because he was the one that used the injection while fully knowing that it wasn't made for Betas; he was responsible for the tears in Arlo's eyes and the fact that his daughter was mute.

"Baby, please stop crying." He moved closer to the bed and cupped Arlo's cheek, turning the Beta face to look at him. "It's not for fault, you hear me? I'm the one who gave you the injection over and over again even while knowing that there would be side-effects. I was the one who ignored the possibles dangers it posed to you so please stop blaming yourself. If anyone should be blamed, it should be me."

Arlo's red-rimmed stayed connection with his and the Beta carefully pushed himself up on the bed even as he continued looking at Jackson.

"You know... I'm not gonna argue back and forth with you because yes, it's your fault but I'm equally to blame for allowing you to use it just to have your attention." The Beta sniffled softly before continuing. "But that's neither here or there. What's important is that we try our best to do right by our daughter and to not treat her like a pariah. She's our daughter and she'll always be our daughter even if she can't speak."

"So,we're not giving her up for adoption?" He interjected, forehead furrowing slightly.

Arlo immediately began frowning at him before a grin broke out on his face and he began laughing loudly.

Jackson looked at him in surprise and a small smile stretched across his face before turning into a gasp as Arlo wrapped his hands around his neck and brought their faces close.

The Beta's eyes were glowing a menacing black color foretelling that his Wolf, Sygne was close to the surface. He began laughing as he continued staring into Jackson's eyes. "Now let us make ourselves clear."

Jackson couldn't help shivering in terror as the sound coming out of Arlo's mouth. It sounded like two person's voices overlapping each others.

"I swear that if you ever suggest giving our pup away, you'll forever live to regret the day you were born." Without another word, Arlo pushed him away after giving his neck a threatening squeeze and relaxed back against the pillows of the Hospital bed.

"So when are they gonna bring our pups back in?" He asked softly, looking at the door in anticipation.

In reply, Jackson shot up off the chair and high-tailed it out of the room as if the Hound of Baskerville was on his tail.

Fuck that.

...

Wolfie's upper lip curled in disgust at the older woman sending him a smile full of gums after trying to flirt with him.

Now, he wasn't much of a person to embarrass someone for something that they couldn't help but the woman must know exactly what she was doing.

What made it worse was that as soon as he sat down, she immediately occupied the chair next to him.

The nurse had told him to wait for a couple minutes before he was able to see Arlo and he was honestly considering hiring a Witch Doctor to put a curse on her for the smile of amusement that she sent his way.

"Hey sexy, ever had some fun with a cougar? Rawr," she asked  fluttering the most ridiculous set of eyelashes Wolfie had ever seen on a person. They looked like mini feather dusters.

He grimaced and sent her a look of disgust before getting up and moving to a chair further down.

He wasn't about to try and spare her feelings since she was harassing him.

I mean, have you fucking seen Danny? This... Whatever the fuck she was didn't hold a candle to that sexy, mocha coloured Omega currently sleeping in his car.

He honestly won the jackpot getting matched with Danny.

"Oh come on sexy. Don't play so hard to get. You know you want some of this." She sat down next to him and pushed her chest in his face. He took one look at the long, dark hairs covering her chest and began dry hurling.

"Nurse! Nurse!" He scrambled up out of his seat and stumbled to the reception desk, grabbing the front of the Nurse's uniform. "Get that thing away from me before I sue those exclamation marks that you call eyebrows off your face." He turned her face to looked at the woman who was staring at him with a hurt expression on her face.

Eugh...

"Sir, please release the nurse."

Wolfie turned to look at the guard from before who was approaching him with his hand hovering over his taser or gun, he didn't even know. "Look, I don't know how exactly you guys are running this Hospital but I didn't come here to be harassed by the likes of her." He tilted his head back at the woman and the guard's eyes followed.

He released the Nurse who scrambled to fix her uniform. "Get that woman away from me or the next time I speak to you, it'll be to get the Hospital's information so that I can sue the shitty bedpans out of it for harassment." He glared at the guard who was still looking at him in suspicion. "And you," he continued, pointing at the guard. "I dare you to pull that weapon so that we can see if the plump, Beta guard or the fit, Alpha Solicitor is the fastest."

The guard grimaced at his words and looked to be warring with the himself on whether he should risk tasing Wolfie so said Alpha made the decision for him.

"Don't be a hero, my guy. I'm pretty sure that you already know that woman and understand her behaviour." He folded his arms and stared the guard down. "You'll also understand that not everyone would find humor in the situation, so if you wanna fuck with me then let's go. It's been a while since I broke someone's neck," he threatened, unfolding his arms to crack his knuckles at the guard who was gritting his teeth as his hand stayed hovering over his belt.

"Wolfie?"

Said Alpha turned towards the voice and easily side-stepped the guard who had lunged at him, stomping on his balls for good measure before walking towards Jackson with a huge grin on his face, ignoring the grunts of pain from the Beta on the floor.

Well, he did tell him not to be a hero.

"Hey, Mate," he greeted. "What's the update?" He wrapped an arm around Jackson's shoulder.

The aforementioned guy continued staring at the writhing guard and couldn't help but roll his eyes at the scene.

He couldn't even count on one hand how many times Wolfie had riled people up into attacking him just so he can beat them up without repurcussions.

The chances of the Hospital being able to sue the Alpha for aggravated assault even with security surveillance was as slim as Jackson dating that piece of trash woman dabbing at her eyes with a hanky that she pulled from her sh- huh? Okay, what the fuck?! Is that... Is that hair?! Hair on her chest?!

His stomach turned.

That was probably the reason for Wolfie's behavior and he honestly couldn't fault the Alpha.

"Arlo is... fine."

Yeah... Other than the fact that he just choked Jackson off in the Hospital, he was doing just fine.
