Where am I?

What happened to me?

Last time I was awake. Or conscious. I was in the holding cells with Anthony. I had torn the corner off of the bars. Enough for Crimson to escape.

That's when I felt it. A needle had been shot in to my neck. I collapsed to the floor and unwillingly let my vision fade away. And now I was laying on something soft and cushioned. No blankets covered me and no pillows comforted my head.

I opened my eyes.

The brightness Of the room stunned my eyes making me close them. I opened them again being more cautious about the light. I was facing a white wall. It looked like the walls in the holding cell. But it wasn't. I turned on my back to see beams of light attached to the wall.

The smell of food filled my nostrils. My stomach growled anxiously for food. I sat up straight and looked to my left to see two plates of food and water. One plate was empty with a water bottle half full on the side. The other plate, however, had food on it. I crawled over to it and ate the food with my fingers. The food was so delectable.

I haven't eaten in such a long time that I could eat anything offered to me. After I finished my food I couldn't help but to look around the room. There was barely anything in there. There was a mattress in which I was on. Food and water. And a single iron door that was shut.

And a person near me.

He was curled up into a ball on the harsh ground. He had no shirt or shoes on. His arms gripped around his knees. His hair brushed over covering his face. As I got closer to the man his details became more clear.

It was Anthony. He was curled up in a ball crying. Weeping into his knees he must have fallen asleep.

"Hey Anthony, are you okay? What's the matter" I rubbed his back to sooth him.

His face perked up a bit. He was pale and had tears rapidly coming down his eyes. Anthony tried saying something but all that came out was more tears.

"Come on" I grunted, tugging him towards the mattress. "I won't allow you to be on the floor like this". I dragged him over to the mattress. He was completely out of it. He seemed almost drowsy from whatever happened to him.

I sat him up but he kept falling to the side in defeat. I placed myself next to him and let him fall in my lap. His head laid sideways on my lap. Hot tears fell from his face to my thighs. I placed my right hand on the side of his head. My fingers cut through his hair, his hair was so long that I could somewhat hide my hand in it.

Anthony's left arm was outstretched forward. His robotic fingers curled outward. I reached out for his hand. It was too far to reach. He must have seen me trying to get his hand because he moved it closer. I grabbed it and laced my fingers through his fake ones. The metal made my hand cold.

I had never fully observed his hand before. His actual arm ended where his wrist would be. Instead it was a stub sewed inward. Wires interconnected with veins. A circular metal wristband wrapped around his stub. Bars led up to a complex palm and finger system.

And there were my fingers. Laced with his mechanical ones. I don't know why I did it. Maybe it would comfort him. His crying became more slow and subtle. It finally turned into slow and deep breathing. I smiled to myself. His breathing became normal and fluid. I leaned over to see that he fell asleep.

I leaned back against the wall. I still didn't know where I was. If I had to guess it would have to be a more secluded holding cell. I'd ask him but he needs his sleep. I'll wait until he wakes up.

My mind drifts and...

I think of my family. I haven't been home in a while. For about two or more days along with however log I've been in here for. My mother, father, brother. They must be worried sick about me.
In a way I knew this would happen. I knew if I went with Anthony to save Crimson that I would end up in something like this.

So why did I do it? Why did I do it if I knew this would happen? I thought for a while. My eyelids flickered open and closed. I could feel my head dropping to the side.

I didn't bother to lift it up. I just went to sleep.
