The next morning I woke up early and went downstairs and decided to make a breakfast casserole.

When Morgan walked downstairs she stopped on the steps... "What is that smell? It smells delicious!"

"I decided to wake up early and make a breakfast casserole for you guys," I said.

"Oh Lanie I didn't know you could cook but I can't wait to eat some of that." She smiled.

Trace walked down and over to the counter. "God that smells good. What is it?"

"Lanie made us a breakfast casserole," Morgan said.

"Wow, thanks Lanie I cant wait to eat it. Just wait I bet Jax will be up soon. He probably smells it." Trace laughed.

I got it out of the oven and cut it up into squares and handed them both a plate when the doorbell went off.

We all laughed and I went and opened the door to Jax. "Morning!" I said.

"Morning guys! What is that smell? It smells really good."

"Here ya go, Jax. I made a breakfast casserole." I said handing him my plate.

"This is really good sis," Morgan said.

"Hell yeah I'm not sure what I'm eating but it's really good." Trace said.

I scooped out a piece and sit down beside Jax... "It's just eggs and cheese and some veggies," I said.

"Wow, this is really good Lanie," Jax said.

"I figured since I would be home today and you guys have to work I would make something fulfilling to eat before you have to go." I shrugged.

"So you aren't going with us?" Morgan asked.

"No I'm going to stay here and work on those shirts and Jessa is coming over with her sewing machine to help me," I said.

"That's great! All she does is sit with mom and study so this will be good for her." Trace said.

Once I finished eating I walked over and begin washing the dishes because I can't stand them sitting in the sink long.

"Mind if I have another piece?" Jax asked.

"Sure get all you want Jax." I smiled.

Once they left I cleaned up the kitchen and went to the office to start sewing.

It wasn't long the doorbell went off and when I went to the door it was Jessa.

"Hey sorry I didn't call but I don't have your number." She laughed.

"Well, we need to fix that! Come on in I was already sewing." I said.

"God it smells good in here. What did you cook?" She asked.

I laugh... "A breakfast casserole and my sister, Trace, and Jax pigged out. If you want some it's sitting on the stove covered up."

"I won't say no to that. I will get a piece after I set this up." She said.

I work on the shirt I was finishing up and then showed her what I was doing. She went to get some food and came back and I showed her the material for Morgan's dress.

"Oh, that is gorgeous!" Jessa smiled.

"So Tony said that Jax brought you to the ice cream shop yesterday," Jessa said.

"Yeah it was nice and the ice cream was good. He took me to get the fabric." I said.

"Sooo do you like him?" She asked.

"He's a nice guy sure," I said.

"Nooo, I mean like him like him." She smiled.

"Oh no not like that. I'm fresh out of a bad relationship and I just don't want anything right now." I said.

"I understand. Well, Tony and I have been hanging out a lot since we met and I think I like him." She blushed.

"Aww, that's sweet. He seems like a nice guy." I said.

"The whole family is." She said.

"Jax when he came over last night he brought me this," I said showing my thimble.

"What a strange gift." She laughed.

"Well I had mentioned I needed one and he didn't know what one was and went back to the fabric store and asked and bought this one." I smiled.

"That was a really sweet gesture. Are you sure he doesn't like you, Lanie?" She asked.

"I don't think so. I mean I don't think I'm his type." I shrugged.

"Why not? You are a beautiful woman."She said.

"I'm not sure about that. This is the skinniest I've ever been and I don't even feel comfortable in my own skin. Hell, I'm even hiding bruises on my face with makeup." I said.

"Really?? I can't see them. Can I ask what happened?" Jessa asked.

"I'm not ready to talk about it but when I am I will tell you," I said.

"Deal!" She smiled.

Morgan's house phone started ringing and I got up to answer it.

πŸ“ž Hello?

πŸ“ž Can I speak to Lanie Ryan?

πŸ“ž This is her.

πŸ“ž Lanie, it's the officer that helped you get on the plane. Officer Bryant.

πŸ“ž Hi Officer Bryant! I'm confused about how you got this number.

πŸ“ž I'm a cop. I looked your sister up. Anyway, I'm calling to let you know that Mr. Sheldon will be staying in jail for a long time on attempted murder charges.

πŸ“ž Wow, I don't know what to say but I'm relieved.

πŸ“ž I knew you would be. How are you doing?

πŸ“ž Actually good! I'm staying with my sister and making clothes for my dad's shop and my sister's wedding.

πŸ“ž That's awesome. Can I get your cell number so the next time I need to speak to you?

πŸ“ž Sure! Just text me so I can save your number as well. Thanks again for calling.

πŸ“ž Not a problem. Take care Lanie bye.

πŸ“ž Bye.

I hang the phone up and just stand there. Wow, Reggie is going to do time for almost killing me.

I try to swallow back tears but I can't and I just stand there shaking trying to wipe my eyes.

"Lanie are you ok?" Jessa asks.

"Yeah just got some good news."

"Care to share?" She asked.

"Umm." I sigh running my fingers through my hair.
