A couple of months later I had decided I wanted to ask Lanie to marry me but I knew I needed to ask Kash first.
I was so nervous I could barely swallow that morning we went to work.
I went in early hoping I could grab him before the day begin.
"Kash, can I speak to you?" I ask.
"Sure Jax let's go to my office." He said as I followed behind him like a puppy.
Kash sits down and motions for me to have a seat. "So what's up Jax?"
"Damn I'm nervous... Umm you know I really love Lanie and I wasn't expecting her when she came into my life but I can't live without her and so I'm asking your permission to marry your daughter."
"I had a feeling this was coming Jax. The way you look at Lanie reminds me of how I look at Navy. I've talked about it with her mother in case you were to come and ask and we agreed that you have our permission." He smiled.
"I don't think I've ever held my breath so long." I laugh.
"I like making you sweat Jax." He laughed.
"Well, I was sweating bullets." I laugh standing up.
He smacked me on the back. "Thanks for asking that means a lot."
We walk back up front and I'm trying to figure out when to go buy a ring because I already said I would spend lunch with Lanie.
I got ready for my next tattoo and it was just small stars on the inside of the ear which didn't take long and then I walked next door to see Lanie.
When I walked in she smiled. "Hey, Jax."
"Hey there! Ready for lunch?" I asked.
"Umm yeah I can't I have a lady coming in for a fitting and the only time she could do it was at twelve." She said.
"That's ok. Can I borrow your jeep to go check on my parents?"
"Sure take the keys. Bring us some ice cream back?" She asked.
"Any certain flavor?" I asked.
"Surprise us." She said smiling at me and I leaned down for a kiss.
I walked back over to the shop and asked Morgan could she go with me to a ring shop.
"Are you asking me to help you pick my sister out a ring?" She asked smiling.
"I am. Can you follow me because she will be suspicious?
"Of course Jax. Let's go!" She smirked.
"Hey what about me?" Trace asked.
"Do you want to go as well?" I asked.
"No just messing." He laughed.
We left and I followed Morgan to a jewelry store. "This is where Trace got mine."
"Oh great? Hopefully, I can find something."
"Any certain price rang?" She asked.
"I'm not sure." I shrugged.
We walked in an older man was behind the counter and greeted us. "Hi, folks how can I help you?"
"We are looking for engagement rings," Morgan said.
"So you brought the little lady in to pick her own ring?" He asked.
"Oh no, this is my soon-to-be sister-in-law," I said.
"Yeah, we are shopping for my sister," Morgan said.
He pulled out ring after ring and after a while, I felt like I was looking at the same thing.
"Oooh, Jax look at this one over here!" Morgan said.
As soon as the man handed me the ring I knew that was the one. "Oh, I think this one has Lanie's name all over it," I said to Morgan.
"That one is perfect Jax!" She smiled.
I bought the ring and we went our separate ways so I could swing by and pick up some ice cream.
When I walked in mom smiled. "Hey, Jax where is Lanie?"
"She's working and I came for ice cream to take back to her and Jessa but I have something to show you ma."
"Oh, what is it? She asked wiping her hands on her apron.
"I asked Kash if I could marry Lanie and so Morgan went with me to pick a ring what do you think?" I ask.
"Oh, Jax it's beautiful! She's going to love it. Anthony get out here!" She called.
"What's going on? Ooh, look at that rock." He whistled.
"Thanks, dad! I plan to propose to Lanie." I said.
"Well she's a beautiful young lady and I'm happy you found someone son."
"Thanks, dad." I smile.
"I need some ice cream to go, please. Can I have pistachio and vanilla bean and then me a cone with mint chocolate chip please ma."
"Of course Jax. So when are you proposing to Lanie?" She asked.
"I hope soon. I want to plan something on the beach in our favorite spot." I smiled.
"It will be beautiful whatever you do honey." Ma said handing over the ice cream.
"Bye Ma I love you!" I smiled.
"Love you too honey!" She said.
I headed back to the shop and took the ice cream over to the girls. "Ma even gave you cones to make your own." I laugh.
"She's so sweet." Lanie smiles.
"So are you," I said leaning down to kiss her lips.
"Yummy you taste like mint chocolate chip." She giggles.
"See you later I got a tattoo soon. Love you, Lanie."
"I love you too Jax." She smiled.
I walked over to the shop and went to get out my inks when Navy walked over.ย "Jax I want to see the ring."
"I'm sorry Jax I had to tell mom." Morgan smiled.
"It's alright but none of you better say a word," I said pulling out the box and handing it to Navy.
"Oh, Jax she's going to love it! It's beautiful and I won't say anything. I didn't when Trace showed me Morgan's ring."
"Mom you saw my ring before me?" Morgan asked.
"Of course I did Morgan." She laughed.
I laughed when Trace pulled his hat over his eyes.
"So when are you going to do it?" Navy asked.
"Very soon!" I smiled.
