When we made it back to the house Jax said goodnight and I walked on into the house.

Morgan was in the kitchen and she smiled when I walked in. "So you were gone a while."

"Yeah, we walked on the beach and then sit down and talked for a while," I said.

"And that's all?" She smirked.

"Yes, Morgan I'm not like you. We didn't even touch besides when he helped me get off the sand." I said.

"So what did you talk about?" She asked.

"About my call with Officer Bryant today," I said.

"Who? What happened Lanie?"

"He's the officer who helped me and even went with me to the airport. He called to tell me that Reggie got time for attempted murder." I said.

"Oh wow and you didn't share it with me??" She said.

"I'm sorry Morgan it happened while Jessa was here and I didn't tell her and well sitting on the beach Jax asked what was wrong with no judgment and I just told him," I said.

"It's ok when we came home a lot was going on and I'm glad you were able to talk to someone about it." She smiled.

"I know the bruises fade but I'll never forget the hell he put me through," I said.

"Cookie?" Morgan asked.

"Of course I want a cookie." I smiled at her.

"Where is Trace?" I asked.

"He's upstairs watching a basketball game in bed. I told him I would be up once you come back."

"You didn't have to wait up. But Jax offered to teach me some self-defense at his house of the evenings and I am taking him up on his offer." I said.

"Sounds good. You never know when you may need it. Remember what happened to Uncle Morgan and your dad? It wouldn't hurt." Morgan said.

"Yeah, I sleep with my Gavin bear every night. Makes me feel close to him. I wish I would have known him. He seemed like such a great guy." I said.

"He really did. Did mom give you the locket with his ashes in it?" Morgan asked.

"Yeah, she did before I went to college," I said.

"Well, dad loves you more than anything Lanie Bug." Morgan smiled.

"I know and thank you for sharing him with me. I'm glad that we are close Morgan. I have missed you more than you will ever know." I said tearing up.

"Come here you skank and give me a hug." Morgan laughs walking over to me.

We embrace for a few minutes. "I have missed you too Lanie and whenever I wanted to talk to you I felt that I couldn't and yeah I'm jealous of how close you and dad are at times." She said.

"Don't be jealous he loves us both the same." I smile.

"I know! Well, I better get to bed we have to get up early. I guess you and Jessa will be sewing all day?" She asked.

"Oh yeah, we will. I really like her she's sweet and she really likes Tony." I smile.

"He really likes her too I think. Nite sis, I love you." Morgan said.

"Love you too! I'm going to clean up my mess in the office before bed." I said as I walked in the room and cleaned up my scraps and then headed up to my bed.

The next morning I woke up to people talking and walked downstairs in my t-shirt and shorts and saw Morgan and Trace laughing with Jax.

"I think you live here Jax." I laugh.

"Well, they always feed me. Maybe I need to pay on the grocery bill?" He laughed.

I smile at him... "What's for breakfast?"

"I was hoping your breakfast casserole." Trace said.

I noticed they were all staring at me and I realized they could see my bruises. I touched my face and jumped up to run and Jax reached his arm out and stopped me.

"Lanie it's ok." He said.

Morgan turned around and smiled. "He's right Lanie. You don't have to hide from us."

"I'm sorry I'm just embarrassed," I said dropping my head.

Jax leaned over and lifted up my chin with his fingers. "I already told you don't be embarrassed, Lanie. You didn't deserve anything that happened to you."

"Thank you, Jax," I said trying to hold back tears.

"Hey, this evening once work is over let's go walk on the beach again. Maybe I'll talk about me this time." He laughed.

"Sounds nice. I could go for ice cream too." I smirk.

"Oh, I see how it is. Well, the ice cream is on me if I get more of that breakfast casserole thing." He smiled.

"Deal! I'll make it tomorrow morning ok?" I smile over at him.

Morgan walks back downstairs dressed and ready to go. "You guys ready?"

"Yeah, Lanie is going to make that breakfast casserole for me tomorrow." Jax smiled.

"Just for you?" Morgan asked.

"Well, you have to share Jax." I laugh.

A knock on the door and Morgan opens it up to a smiling Jessa. "Morning guys!"

"Morning Jessa." Trace said walking into the kitchen.

"You guys just need keys." Morgan laughed.

"See ya later." Jax smiled at me and walked out.

"Bye guys have a good day tattooing." I smile as Jessa smirks at me.

Once the house was quiet we walked back to the office and got ready to get started.

"Sooo I saw how Jax was looking at you." Jessa giggled.

"What way? He's very nice. We walked on the beach last night and he listened to my problems and asked me to walk on the beach with him this evening." I shrugged.

"You might not see anything but I see it." She said grabbing some material.

"How are things going with Tony?" I asked changing the subject.

"It's still new but I like him and my mom she likes him too and well Trace hasn't said anything and maybe that's because he likes Jax." She laughed.

"Jax is very likable." I smile.
