Thursday night my mom asked me to cover a bar-tending shift at the Sleeping Moon. I really didn't want too but I can never say no to my mom and dad. And it is my families bar. It was a slow night. Not too many people go out drinking on Thursday nights in our town.

"Well, well if it isn't the most gorgeous bar tender in Massachusetts." A deep voice from behind me caused me to spin around with a smile. Nope not Chris.

"Hi Zach." I smiled. Zach is a great guy that I casually dated on and off, here and there, over the past few years. I leaned on the bar, "What brings you in here?"

"The hopeful chance I might see you." He winked.

I grinned. "Want a beer?"

"That would be delightful. Thank you, Bree."

I nodded and turned to grab a clean glass for his beer.

"So what's new?" I asked a moment later as I handed him his beer.

He shrugged as he took a sip. "Same old same old. Grateful for a night off." Zach is an officer with Sudbury PD.

"I can imagine. Kirsten said you helped Nate out on a few jobs."

Zach nodded. "A few. What about you? What's new with you?"

"Working. And helping out here....so same old same old." I grinned.

"Seeing anyone?" He asked casually, his beer on his lips.

"Well actually...." Someone coming in the bar door caught my attention and my face lit up in a way only he can cause. Chris in dark blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a backwards Sox hat made my heart skip a beat. Scott followed in behind him and they headed towards me. Chris eyed Zach for a moment before smiling at me.

"Hey." He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

"Hi." I replied with a silly grin on my face.

We stared at each other for a moment before Scott cleared his throat. "Hi Bree, oh hey Scott." He rolled his eyes.

I laughed. "Hi Scotty."

Scott and Chris both turned to look at Zach.

"Oh sorry, I'm rude. Scott, Chris this is my friend Zach. Zach this is Chris and his brother Scott."

"Nice to meet you man." Zach stuck his hand out to shake Chris's and then Scott's.

"How do you know Breelan?" Chris straddled the empty bar stool next to Zack.

"We hang out sometimes." Zack smiled at me.

"Oh yeah? Hang out huh?" Chris looked at me.

"Do you guys want a beer?" I offered hoping to direct the conversation a different way.

"Yes." Scott sat down on a stool.

"Yes." Chris echoed with a nod.

As I was grabbing Chris and Scott's beer Zach wandered over to a nearby table joining some friends.

"So you hang out with that guy?" Chris asked glancing over his shoulder at Zach.

"Use to. Not anymore." I clarified.

"Does hang out mean hook up?" Chris wanted to know.

"I'm gonna run to the little boys room." Scott slid his bar stool back.

"We used to date." I admitted leaning on the bar towards Chris. "But just casually."

"Did you.....hook up?" He pursed his lips.

"Yes." I admitted. "But it was a long time ago."

"How long ago?"

I laughed. "Are you jealous?" I pushed myself up on my tip toes so that my face was inches from his.

"Maybe a little." He stuck his lower lip out and wrinkled his nose.

"You're so damn cute. I mean I could eat you up."

"Oh really?" He licked his lips.

I nodded with a smile before kissing his lips.

"I can't believe you're jealous."

"I'm jealous of every guy you've talked to, who has kissed you. Who you've flirted with, had crushes on, dated-"

"Ok ok ok." I cut him off. "Well Mr. Evans I only have eyes for you."

"That's good. Because I'm so crazy about you."

"Maybe just crazy." I teased

"That to." He laughed.

"I only have to work till 9 if you want to hang around?"

"Sure." He kissed me quick on the lips again.

Scott came back, and he and Chris hung out at the bar for a little while before going over to play a game of darts.

"Can I get a shot pretty lady?" Zach walked up about 30 minutes later.

"Of course. Pick your poison."

"I'll take a kamikaze." He said after a second of deliberating.

"Brave choice." I grabbed the vodka.

He shrugged. "I didn't realize you were dating Mr. Hollywood." He nodded towards Chris who now was watching the interaction between Zach and myself closely.

"It's new." I admitted with a grin.

"Well he's a lucky guy."

"Thank you." I picked up the shaker tossing it back and forth before pouring his shot and sliding it towards him.

"Thanks Bree." He grinned slamming it back. He set the empty shot glass down pushing it towards me before tossing down a $20 bill and going back to his friends.

My eyes met Chris's who just smiled and winked at me before returning to his game of darts.

We left a little after 9. Scott drove home while Chris rode with me back to my house.

"How serious were you with that guy? Zach?" Chris asked breaking the silence in the car.

"Not very serious." I glanced over at him driving my car. His left hand steady on the wheel his right hand resting comfortably on my thigh. "You're not seriously jealous, are you?"

"No. I just think he still likes you."

"Can you blame him?" I joked.

"No." Chris replied seriously.

"Don't worry about it. I'm with you. Doesn't matter about him. We're together."

"What about when I'm not here." His eyes didn't leave the road.

"You mean....when you're working?"

Chris nodded. "Or in Los Angeles."

"Well how often will that be?" I shifted in my seat causing his hand to slip from my thigh.

"I'm not sure. I just don't want to have to worry about Officer Zach making a move on you when I'm across the country."

"And if he did make a move? You don't trust me?"

"I didn't say that. Of course I trust you. I don't trust him."

I raised an eyebrow. "You make out with beautiful women for a living."

"That's different. There's no real interest there."

"And I don't have a real interest in Zach." I pointed out.

"Fair enough." He lifted his hand to steer the car with both hands. His eyes still on the road his hat pulled down low.

"You seriously don't have anything to worry about." I reassured softly. I reached up and ran my fingers down his neck and over his shoulder. He turned with a smile.

"I know. I just like to hear you say it."
