I flinched at the prick as the nurse injected a blue-colored serum into my arm still not telling me what that serum was no matter how many ever times I demanded to know the contents of it.

"What is it?" I demanded again, feeling mildly irritated making her look at me with that spurious smile of hers that she had been giving me the entire time.

"Just a PHR cross-checker. We take good care of our clients and volunteers," she slurred the last two words indicating the mild intoxication that she had started to show now.

Her words ticked me off in a corner but I ignored the feeling as I glanced towards Angelo. A male nurse was rubbing a small cotton ball over his inner elbow as they discussed something seriously. I looked at the male nurse who was pretty much a looker himself. With his bronze hair and light honey-blonde highlights, his face displayed masculine features, he was damn handsome but not as much as Angelo. Everything about the male nurse shouted manly and do-not-mess-with-me. Nothing indicated that he was a nurse. He had rough edges etched on him and if he had volunteered himself, he would have given a good competition to Angelo himself.

"You can go now," the blonde nurse beside me smiled tight-lipped after she rubbed a small cotton ball over my needle prick and handed another to wipe any of the little droplets of blood oozing out of the injection hole.

Pressing the cotton over the spot, I walked towards Angelo and the male nurse who were now looking in my direction. I smiled nervously at them as I reached them.

"Sorry in case I'm disturbing you," I smiled at the male nurse who looked back at me with a poker face. His piercing blue eyes reached my inner soul causing an involuntary shiver to break through my spine. Something about this guy gave me chills. A dangerous aura radiated from him making me want to run away as far as possible from him and hide where he couldn't reach me.

He just gave me a curt nod not uttering a word in reply before throwing a subtle pointed look at Angelo and walking away.

"That was... Weird and... Rude," I murmured mostly to myself looking in the direction where the male nurse had taken off, and then looked at Angelo who was studying me with a serious expression.

And that was the cue for my cheeks to flush red.

"What?" I mumbled in demand which looked more like a murmur as my cheeks turned a darker shade of red.

"Nothing," he replied bluntly after turning away to look somewhere else. I followed his gaze and tried to decipher what he was looking at. I was glad that all the formalities were over. Now, we could go home. I looked at Angelo, he was a lot older than me but I didn't give a damn about it. At least I wasn't older than him like Blair King. She was almost double his age!

I opened my mouth to say something, anything, just to grab his attention but another person beat me to it.

"Kat! Oh, there you are!" I turned around to find Hannah walking towards us with a huge smile stretched on her face.

"For a girl who never dated, you were pretty quick to grab a volunteer," she winked as she playfully nudged me.

"Shut up!" I whisper and yelled at her, horrified at what she just revealed! For heaven's sake! We were surrounded by people and I definitely didn't forget the presence of Angelo along with us, unlike her. From the corner of my eye, I found Angelo looking at me curiously as if I was a rear species in a zoo. Finally coming to her senses, Hannah turned to smile at Angelo.

"By the way, I'm Hannah," she raised her hand for a handshake which he soon mirrored, "Hannah Raynott," she added with a mischievous smirk. All of a sudden I felt Angelo freeze beside me. His eyes had widened a bit but soon recovered making it look like I had imagined it.

"Angelo," he spoke emotionlessly but was still visibly stiff. Maybe, he was familiar with Hannah's status and her private army.

Hannah laughed out loud and wiped the invisible tear from her eye as she sighed a bit before telling, "You don't have to fear me, dear. We are friends now, moreover like a family. You are sort of a brother-in-law to me, now that Katrina has chosen you."

She turned towards me and winked. I wanted to roll my eyes.

"We will be meeting quite often, so relax. I don't hurt even my enemies, friends are my family," she added with a smug then she turned to me, "and I thought you might like a car to yourself back home, so I'm leaving my Autotrone behind for you. And yeah, there is a dinner reservation for you guys at Malaga Taste. And whatever you both want to do after that in your room privately, is totally up to you. I just hope it's a cheesy and romantic night for you two," she sang the last line making my mouth drop open in shock. I just can't believe she said something like that out so loud! What else could I expect from Hannah?

Recovering from it, I immediately warned her, "Hannah!"

"Okay! Okay! I know, I went overboard but I just want you to have a great time!" She whined like a little girl with her hands raised in mock surrender. Muttering a few curses under my breath, I rubbed my suddenly aching temples. What was I going to do with my best friend?

Suddenly realizing another presence, I looked up to find a very much amused-looking Angelo, witnessing our little drama. Oh my god! He just witnessed everything! My blood rushed to my cheeks. "She's the shy type. Just take care of her for me," Hannah smiled warmly at Angelo before conveying her goodbyes for the night.

I grew nervous as I turned to him and looked up from under my lashes. I saw his eyes darken a bit making a pleasurable shiver travel down my spine. Saying that I was nervous was an understatement.

I cleared my throat a bit, "Um... Shall we go?"

He blinked twice as if coming back to the present and then nodded in reply.

We started walking awkwardly in silence toward Hannah's automatic car from the famous company, Autotrone. It had an auto driver mode that she wanted us to use for I didn't know how to drive and while we didn't know if Angelo could drive or not...

The valet brought us the car and both of us climbed into the backseat switching the car on the auto driver mode.

"It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" I mentally face-palmed. Great Katrina! Just great! Now he will think I am a lame girl with nothing else to talk about except the night, weather, and those things that only a dumbass can talk about.

He looked at me, studying me again, "It's just a night! How silly of me to comment about something so obvious as that..." I laughed nervously feeling bitter towards myself. And I felt like hitting myself with a truck for a lame save.

"It's a clear night," he surprised me with his deep voice making me turn to look at him. He was looking out of the window.

"Which occurs very rarely due to the pollution and the clouds," he added making me curious about where he was leading the talk.

"This is the only night in which you can see the stars and the constellations in the sky," he turned to look at me while I was looking at him in awe. He looked so adorable and wise at the moment.

"Ever notice that?" He asked politely making me shake my head. A small smile had formed on his lips which disappeared quickly.

He bent forward towards the steering wheel and hit a button making the roof of the car open up to the sky sparkling with countless stars. A gasp escaped my lips as I took in the beauty that I had never bothered to notice before. It was just amazing!

"It's so beautiful!" I whispered. I couldn't take my eyes off the sky. I heard a hum in reply causing me to break my stare to look at him. He had his face turned towards the sky and his eyes closed, looking like a statue of an angel. I couldn't help but stare at him in admiration.

As if feeling my heated gaze, he opened his eyes to look at me making me avert my eyes blushing profusely. I looked at the sky again trying to memorize the sight, not knowing when I would get to see it again.

I didn't know how long we sat in a comfortable silence but when the car stopped at a restaurant, I had to break it.

"We will have to get down now," I gestured toward the restaurant and he nodded in reply. I let the valet park the car as we both entered the restaurant. Not much later, a waitress approached us with her eyes glued to Angelo, checking him out like he was her next victim. She was around my age and had brown hair which was slightly lighter than mine.

"May I help you?" She purred at him, completely ignoring me.

I cleared my throat dragging her attention which turned slightly sour as if she just licked a lemon at my sight.

"Table reserved under Katrina Varldi's name?" I asked a bit annoyed at her behavior.

"This way, please," she replied ogling over Angelo again. I coughed out loud making her flush before spinning on her heels and leading the way to the table. The only thing I wanted to do so badly at the moment was gorge her eyes out of her eye sockets!

Holy Lord! Since when did I become so violent, thinking of such violent thoughts? It deeply surprised me. I had never liked the violence, but now I was thinking violent, and then looking at the waitress giving a lustful wink to Angelo, the violence in me had tripled itself. I knew one thing clearly that I had to control my sudden rage tonight before I murdered a particular brunette with my bare hands.

Oh god! This was going to be a long night! A really, really long night!
