[A/N: I renamed the three-part chapter to The Brothel instead of Slavers Auction. Read the end of the chapter author note to find out why...]

I could always use my invisibility.

But then again, I can't risk exposure. Imagine if I just turned visible unexpectedly when trying to steal the letter from the bad guy's pocket...

This could be fun if I don't overthink it. I have never done something so naughty well, except that one time... Okay, now I think about it I'm clearly not Miss Innocence from Purity Ville.

"You are very alluring right now. If I was a boy, I would not keep my eyes off you... At all... if I'm going to be honest with you." Iris blinked multiple times in shocked with her hand over her mouth.

We were stood in Iris' bedroom which was probably the biggest of all rooms in the brothel, and I had just changed out of my dress into something super risqué.

I wore black lacy lingerie made to appear sexier with a suspender belt, some black-tinted high stockings and juicy red lipstick for the extra pop of colour.

When I saw my reflection in the mirror, I saw a completely different version of myself. I could've mistaken myself for a vampire, my body was voluptuous and my face was more attractive than it had ever been.

Even with the faint scars, I looked persuasive and sexy.

And I felt confident.

"Thank you," I responded with a small smile at Iris who tugged at my bra straps and slightly tightened them.

"No problem... You know, this is weird for me, here is a fun fact for you," Iris stepped back and then looked at her surroundings, "your mother is the reason this place belongs to yours truly."

I opened my eyes wide, "how is that possible?"

"Didn't I say I would give you answers after you do the thing you promised?" Iris teasingly smiled as she spoke and I impatiently pouted.

Ughhhh, "okay, what room did you say the man is staying in?" I asked as I began to walk over to the door.

Iris spun around following my body which circled her, "room 27D, if you walk out this room and you take the first right and then a left, you'll find the room."

I nodded understanding her spoken directions, "if you don't mind me asking, what's his name and what am I looking for exactly?"

Iris didn't sigh or groan, she kept her patience with me and I respected that.

"Any form of letter in his jacket, hopefully, he won't be wearing it but, if he is... don't worry because if anything goes wrong, I've got your back. Just try your best to not make it obvious what your intentions are..." Iris notified, "his name is Hunter Maxwell, Master Maxwell he prefers."

I swallowed hard and took a deep breath of confidence, "I don't think I'll be needing any help, Iris, I have a feeling Master Maxwell has never met an Ascelyn."

Iris grinned finding my change of attitude funny.

"I'm sure he hasn't..." Madame Haven amusedly replied.

Should I knock or what?

My fist hovered over the wooden door and I glanced either side of the corridor I was currently stood in, feeling a weird rush of paranoia.

Maybe it was because I was practically walking naked but it felt like someone was watching me and I hated it, especially when I kept recalling the blood-stained note which was left on my wall.

Dark Times Are Coming and Someone Is Watching You.

Wow, even the thought of the message sent me shivering in fear.

I shook the thought from my mind and knocked on the room door of 27D.

After two to three knocks, the door harshly swung open, almost ripping from its hinges and my breath got caught in my throat momentarily as I eyed the rattling screws.

As I exhaled, my eyes hesitantly drifted off to the source responsible for the door slamming against the wall inside of the room.

When they met with my target, something unusual happened.

Strange and scary.

My mind hurt, it was like my thoughts were being twisted and turned by a powerful force and the necklace I wore around my neck, dimmed into a pool of darkness. (A/N: a Nixon side-effect)

After the shortest migraine, I couldn't seem to tell if the man was as bad as Iris had said.

I couldn't tell wrong from right. Everything that could possibly happen from this moment onwards to me, would be perfectly normal.

Murder would be fine.

Theft would be fine.

Adultery would be fine.

This clearly wasn't me; something was playing with my mind.

I couldn't even gather my thoughts to make sense of anything that was happening right now.

All I knew is the mission Iris had sent me on was an opportunity to seduce an incredibly mesmerising and dark soul.

I was face to face with a breathtaking man who looked to be at least five years older than me but, what did that matter since he was probably over 100 years of age.

The man Hunter Maxwell wasn't saying anything and I wasn't either. It was a moment of silence as we stared at each other blankly.

I think I had disturbed something seeing as Master Maxwell was accompanied by three young and very naked girls. Two laying on his bed behind and one clutching onto him like a second head.

The girl was clinging onto him was annoyed but, to her dismay, it didn't look like it bothered Hunter Master that I disrupted his, well, his good vibrations like I thought it would.

I could tell he was angry at first but only up until he opened the door to reveal me, standing here in all my enticing glory.

Master Maxwell was a ship-load of sexy. He had the darkest hair I had ever seen, darker than Xander's and he had watery blue eyes which stood out from all his other mysterious features.

His eyebrows were shadowing his eyes, his eyelashes were perfect and his jaw, oh his jaw, it was chiselled to a dream-like fantasy.

He was shirtless and only wore pants which showed a clear, largely defined outline of his, you know what.

I was almost drooling.

This Hunter guy surely wasn't real, was he?

Was this guy really an evil thief? Iris didn't give me a real explanation...

I blinked for a couple of seconds, breath-taken by the beautiful view in front of my eyes.

"Who- who- wow, are you an angel?" Hunter struggled to pull his formal speech together and as he stuttered at his words, he pushed the young girl off him.

I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth and wiggled one eyebrow suggestively.

Hunter Maxwell's eyes flashed a terrifying but sexy bloodthirsty red.

When the three girls he was with tried to lure him back to bed, he angrily reacted and instantly tore each of their necks one by one whilst I watched unaffectedly.

I had no feeling but the feeling of lust occupying my mind.

Master Maxwell licked his fangs, grabbing my hand and pulling me into his room before shutting the door behind us.

"I'm not an angel, I'm more of pain in the ass..." I smirked flirtatiously, "which only a few can handle."

Hunter watched me lustfully, his eyes never leaving my body or face, as he moved towards me and slid his hand down my cheek and to my chin.

"A beautiful human? Impossible. How and why are you irresistible?" Hunter spoke in a husky, flirty, low voice which made me feel some kind of way.

I slowly shrugged, "family genes..."

Hunter wasn't listening to me, his attention was not focused on my voice, he was more concentrated on getting me into his bed.

The way he held my waist tightly and face roughly made me get the idea that Master Maxwell was the possessive kind.

I wasn't going to let him dominate me.

Suddenly, my head started to hurt again and the same menacing migraine of before had returned.

However, this time when I felt when the pain subsided, I felt eager to get the mission done and over with.

"You are an IMPRESS girl, I thought I recognised you? If the prince found out that I was doing this to you, he would kill both of us, you know that, right?" Hunter mumbled, his lips brushing against mine.

I pushed my lips to his and kissed him, "honestly, the prince can go fuck himself at this moment in time..."

Hunter tugged at lip as he tried to force himself into the entrance of my mouth.

"You are the type of girl every man wants," Hunter kissed the entirety of my jaw line and brought his lips to mine again, allowing his to dominate mine.

I fought back just as hard as he did, my lips pressed against his with force before I breathed out, "but no man can have."

I pushed Hunter's chest back and although he resisted, I was still able to get him to sit back into a chair which was oddly positioned in the right place I wanted it to be in.

"I see, you are going to give me a little introductory dance, aren't you?" Hunter questioned and I waved my finger at him before shushing.

Looking around I conveniently spotted a black cloth hanging from the wooden pole of the bed frame.

"You guessed it..." I seductively sauntered over to retrieve the black cloth, making sure to give Hunter a jaw-dropping sight of my behind.

When taking the cloth from the bed, right in front my eyes, I noticed a jacket... The jacket I needed.

The one Hunter Maxwell had thankfully stripped off.

I thought strategically, keeping Master Maxwell waiting eagerly on the chair by glancing over and batting my eyelashes at him.

A smirk grew on his face as he watched me lift his coat and wear over my lingerie, one side of the coat falling down my shoulder and to my arm in sexually suggestive manner.

Master Maxwell didn't know my intentions so it was easy to act like I didn't know he had important letters hidden in his pockets.

Slowly I circled Hunter, teasingly running my hand against his chest around his shoulder and to his back, where I then tied the black cloth tightly over his eyes.

This way there would be less chance of him seeing me take the letters out his pockets and less chance of him seeing my attempt to escape.

"You are the sexiest human alive, I want to own you..."

I scrunched my nose up.

Own me?

Funny guy.

After tying the cloth around his eyes, I leant over, propping my chin on his shoulder and slid my arms down him.

"I'd be happy to have such a dominant master," I sensuously whispered into Master Maxwell's right ear.

He hummed and breathed out, "I know you would."

Now, how was I going to leave the room without him noticing my disappearance...

My ability?

I hadn't explored much with the fact I could radiate heat and create, control and play with fire.

Kissing Hunter's neck a couple times, I picked up my head and with my arms still around him, I joined and rubbed my hands together in front of his masked eyes.

I was creating a friction, a friction that made my hands building a fog of smoke and turn into fire starters.

Although I couldn't feel just how hot my hands were, I just knew from the burning sensation flooding my body, the satisfaction and exhilaration I was feeling that I was a piping hot mess.

This wasn't going to kill him, I don't think.

I'm sure it was going to make him pass out for a good amount of time for me to run, get some answers and attend the auction safe and sound.

The heat was just going to overwhelm him and pull him into a temporary slumber.

"Too bad you won't ever get to own me..." I harshly whispered before remorselessly pressing my hands to Master Maxwell's head.

He panicked, his voice coming out in mumbles as his head warmed up to an abnormally hot temperature, only until two seconds after, a silence overcame the bedchamber.

And with one magic touch, Hunter Maxwell was no longer a threat to myself or anyone...

Stepping back, I shrugged with a carefree smile and rounded Hunter Maxwell's slumped body.

Standing in front of the chair, he was passed out on, I stripped off his jacket after pulling out every note which had been stashed in his pockets and dropped it to the ground, next to the three dead girls.

I confidently turned around, jumped over the dead bodies and pushed the found letters into my bra.

And that is how you complete a mission, fellas.

***

"All yours..." I rained all the letters on Iris' desk and watched her mouth open wide in surprise at how fast I completed her mission, "now how about those answers..." I pushed curiously.

Iris stood from her seat, giving a long look at all the evidence I had stolen for her, "yeah of course but, wow... Are you sure you are not some superhuman? That was strangely quick."

For a second, I took her seriously and my body tensed up slightly only for me to realise when she laughed, that it was a rhetorical joke of a question.

"You are welcome," I replied to her forgotten thank you and she shook her head at me humoured, "thank you, Natalya. I believe I owe you some answers. What would you like to know?"

Iris grabbed a chair for me to sit on and then went back to her pink velvet cushioned chair behind the desk.

"I want to know everything my mother kept secret, I want to know anyone who held something against her and I want to know what you know..." I arched my eyebrow at her after leaning forward, placing my elbows on her desk and resting my chin on my fist... "I believe my mother and father were deliberately killed and I want to find out who was behind it."

Iris nodded in understanding with her cheeks sucked in to appear hollow as she dug into her thoughts, "after I stopped getting letters, from your mother... I knew something was wrong." She started.

I lowered my eyebrow and listened intently.

"When I received a letter saying she died in a village fire from Lord Hilbert, an old friend of mine, he was your mother's closest friend to the point you could call him your second father. I am sure you have come across him."

I nodded in confirmation that I had interacted with him and Iris shut her eyes momentarily to try and remember what her point was leading to.

"I cried for six weeks straight, I still cry often actually. When I heard the tragic news, I knew immediately that someone had found them and I am glad you moved away from that region, it wasn't safe for you. In fact, you are safer with the royals than you will ever be..." Iris trailed off into thought again.

I didn't respond.

I wanted to hear all the facts before interjecting.

"Your mother treated me like a sister, she helped me many times. Everyone including the King knew how close I was with her. That was only until everything fell apart and the secret that your mother had abilities just like the royals spread. Someone betrayed her and I wasn't surprised, your mother trusted too many people, the wrong people..." Iris lowered her head sadly.

I furrowed my eyebrows. This is why I had a love-hate relationship with people.

"Speaking of abilities, there was a time I came to visit you in Icilia. You were still quite young so I doubt you remember, but, it was the day your brother got his abilities, lightning and teleportation. His sixteenth birthday..." Iris reminisced, "oh that day will go down in my history books."

I definitely don't remember.

"What made it so special despite my brother's birthday?" I questioned.

Iris randomly giggled, "young girl, how do you think your brother got the job of the prince's guard like that," she clicked for emphasis on that.

I don't know. I just assumed he was lucky.

"That day your mother gave everything up to both myself and her evil bitch of a sister, for her to hide she had to give up her riches which left your entire family poor. Your mother would not physically take any money back from me because of her pride but, the state you guys were left in was disgusting." Iris paused.

And continued thinking of the memory, "so, near the time when I was in a relationship with Xander and I already knew he was the King's bastard and close to his half-brother. I begged him to ask Zac to give your brother a chance in which they only agreed on the basis of him being turned into a vampire... And after persuading both your mother and father into the idea... They finally agreed and Alaric was sent off some years after and did a very good job in befriending the right people I must say."

Taking it all in was like a bullet to my head.

All this was happening and I was too distracted by all the deadly obstacles and bad people in Icilia to even realise.

"Thank you, because you got Alaric that position we actually had days where we ate well and days where we slept well too. Thank you so much." I said sincerely, my heart touched by the woman seated in front of me.

Iris smiled, "you don't ever need to thank me, I owe you and your family everything and more. However, speaking of abilities, your brother contacted me recently, telling me about a certain fire girl? Was the message I received accurate?"

I pursed my lips smiling as I nodded proudly, "yes it was..." I opened my hand to reveal a single flame dancing above the palm of my hand.

Iris clapped briefly and squeaked, "that is amazing! But, remember please don't go showing everyone what you are capable of unless you are certain you can trust the person. There are a lot of people who will claim they know you but, don't be fooled, Natalya. That was the biggest mistake your mother made."

"I would never," I responded confidently but a part of me felt like I had told a lie.

Iris inhaled and let her breath out in a controlled manner, "You said you want to know who I think betrayed and killed your mother... Well..."

I waited for the response I had been wanting so long.

"Daya El Rigo."

"Who is that?" I asked in confusion, the name didn't ring any other bell of mine except that I had seen it on paper before, in one of the letters in the file I had stolen from Richard Harris back at the castle, the same file which had letters from Iris Haven to my mother too.

Letters I never did get the chance to read because there was simply too many.

Iris shrugged and exhaled, "That's the thing I don't know who the person is. Your mother sent me letters always telling me that she was meeting a man named Daya for reasons that she never explained. And all I did know was that he was the King's best man for a time until something broke out and he was banished from the region... I don't know where he went and I am sure he didn't go too far. But yes, I suspect him."

I carefully stood up from my seat remembering that the slavers auction was probably starting soon. "Ok, I will consider him. Thank you, Madame Haven. I will hopefully see you again. However, for now, I better gather the group back together and attend the auction."

Iris tilted her head and laughed, "didn't I say you don't need to thank me, I see you as a niece of mine and that will never change. I have a word of advice before you go..."

"What is the advice?" I asked watching Iris come over and holding onto one of my hands.

She stared at me for a long time before stroking my face and smiling like a proud aunt.

"Don't let him break your heart, it is better if you play his than have him play yours..." She advised and even though I was puzzled, I nodded.

"Who is him?" I curiously queried.

Iris' eyes brightened, "anyone of those boys you are
