After a bit of scrambling around the upstairs area of the mansion, I manage to find my way in front of Jane's room by eventually remembering the directions she showed me.

I start pounding on her door as fast as my heart has begun to race.

The door swings open and one of my fists nearly slams her chest but I quickly hold back and start panicking.

"JANE. They're gonna make me...SlenderMan wants me—I mean Toby—he wants the proxies to go on a 'hunt' today!!"

Jane scoffed and crossed her arms, "Well isn't that timing just absolutely precious?"

"Like hell it is! We need to get the real Toby back! I'm not insane person you all are—! Well, at least not to this extent!"

"Look, just calm down and lower your voice..." Jane hissed, grabbing my arm. "How much time before you all head out, did he say?"

"Mask guy wants me to meet them in a few minutes to prepare. I was thinking we just run out and switcharoo with Toby—even if it keeps them waiting it's better than throwing me out there? Right???"

My voice sounds desperate and panicky yet this is the most tense, terrifying moment of my life. Well, besides graduating from high school and actually having to think about my future...

"Relax (Y/n), we'll do what we can to try and get you and Toby back into each other places. Just give me a moment while I get ready and then we'll head out. Go wait in Toby's room in the mean time and—please try not to run into a conversation with anyone."

I nodded at Jane and stepped back into her room, closing her door. I find my way back to Toby's room and quickly close the door behind me, locking it.

I start pacing around the room, trying desperately to calm my nerves but to no avail. I began thinking of my dads and hoping that they were alright. Did Toby kill them? Was he even still at my house? Was he caught???

My mind was so busy racing with questions that I didn't even notice the other person standing in the room. I jump when I hear the low growl coming from near Toby's closet and spot a masked figure standing there; in their grasp they had a bloody baseball bat with nails sticking out of it and they were tapping the weapon against their hand.

"Who...the hell...are you? Where's Toby..."

My eyes dart from side to side before mumbling in a weakened voice, "I am Toby...what're you on?"

The mysterious male suddenly approached me in a hurried manner, and I flinch and back away, grabbing the handles of the hatchets on my belt and pulling them before me in defense, expecting him to attack me with the bat.

The hatchets were heavy though, and I've never used one of these bulky blades in my life so I'm unable to react quickly when the male suddenly swings the bat at me, lodging the protruding nails into the side of my waist.

I feel the air get knocked out of me and I hit the ground after the impact, the pain in my waist unbearably excruciating. I clench my teeth as I feel the pain shoot up through my whole body and roll helplessly on the ground.

"There's pain written all over your face," The male scowled, shaking the bat and flinging some of my blood onto my helpless form. "Toby doesn't feel pain. You're not him..."

I remained silent, grasping my side and occasionally moving my hands to gawk at the bleeding holes that were gorged into my body. My head was pounding so much that I don't think I could've spoken, so I remained mute, fear beginning to arise.

I hear the gentle tapping of the bat on my attacker's gloved hands again and slightly turn my head, seeing that it looks like he's getting ready to hit me again. "Let's play a game, 'fake' Toby. It's called how many hits till I get to the center of your skull? Ready?" He hissed, raising the bat over me.

Well. It was bound to happen sooner or later. At least I wasn't getting killed by that one killer who apparently just rips people open and tortures them in their dying moments. I close my eyes and prepare to meet fate when...

The door to Toby's room swings open and I hear the familiar cry of Jane as she storms into the room.
"X-Virus, WAIT—!"
