Pink wakes up in a cold sweat, 1 minute before her alarm is set to go off. Another nightmare about that blasted Xeno. Whatever, that didn’t matter now. She gets up and starts to get dressed.

Her alarm goes off, and Green stirs in the bed on the other side of the room. “Ugh, do we HAVE to get up?” he says, still groggy.

“Yes, we have to get up~” she says, coming over and pulling the covers off of him slowly as the ship’s main cabin lights come on.

The intercom chimes in. “Attention all crew, the Automated Docking Systems predict our arrival at the Polus Orbital Rendezvous Platform will be commencing shortly, please standby for turbulence and/or docking. Thank you!” Ch-click!

Begrudgingly, Green gets up, and the two of them continue getting ready for the events ahead of them. They suit up, helmets under their arms, and depart down the hall toward the central meeting area. While on their way, the Artificial Gravity of the Skeld changes to “0”, sending the two of them off their feet! Pink grabs a doorframe, and Green grabs onto Pink’s midriff, Pink’s face lighting up as bright as her suit.

“H-hey!!” She contests playfully “Don’t do that! We’re about to be on a mission!”

“Sorry, I didn’t wanna float off~” he says, the last bit of drowsiness lingering in his voice, a cheeky smirk plastered across his face.

As soon as the fluctuation came, it ends. The gravity turns back on, their feet back on the floor. Green takes Pink’s hand in his, and they head to the meeting room, where the rest of the crew are eating their morning rations (or attempting to, as it seems Orange wasn’t so lucky when the artificial gravity went off!). Out their port-hole windows, they can see the desolate iceball that is Polus.
With a surface temperature of -179 degrees Celsius and only 80 percent of the gravity of Earth, it certainly put a pit in Pink’s stomach. Nevertheless, the crew pressed on, docking to the orbital rendezvous station and meeting their new crew members before boarding the landing craft and heading down to Polus’s surface base. Green held Pink’s hand, detecting her nervousness all the way down.

The descent is uneventful, timed just right so they wouldn’t be caught in one of the persistent and turbulent ice storms that plague Polus’s surface. Helmets on and life-support gear ready, the team opens the door, greeted by the frozen hellscape that is Polus.
