"Damn you look like shit." Bakugo commented as y/n walked into class and sat down beside him.

"Do I hear insults?" Kirishima questioned.

"No you idiot, I'm just saying she looks like shit." He huffed at the redhead.

"Bakugo that's usually taken as an insult." Kirishima sighed.

"It's not my fault the damn idiot doesn't know how to take care of herself!" He shouted.

"Quiet! Bakugo...do I need to write you up?" Aizawa tiredly threatened the blonde. Bakugo rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Good. Now, turn to page 34 in your textbooks." Aizawas voice drawled on in a monotone lecture, Izuku's Pencil could be Heard- scribbling down notes. Occasionally clicking it to dispense more led when it broke. Y/n was having a hard time staying awake, despite being monotone, Aizawa's voice was quite soothing and she'd started to drift off until she felt a sharp jab in her side. She looked at the direction of the source and saw Bakugo glaring at her, his hand retreating back to rest on his desk.

"Thanks," she whispered at him. Despite Bakugo acting and looking like he'd only ever want to be your enemy, he was actually quite kind...in his own way...once you got to really know him. He was a great example of the phrase 'tough love' and would never sugar coat his words. Things came out of his mouth bluntly, straight to the point. And it wasn't his fault if people couldn't handle the truth. Y/n knew this, and she also knew and act of kindness coming from him even if it didn't quite look like kindness at first glance. She decided to keep herself busy and awake by scribbling down notes too.

After another 20 minutes the bell for break rung.

"I'm gonna grab a snack from the vending machine, wait for me ok!" Y/n said to the gang as she walked down the hall. She hadn't been paying attention to where she was walking, eyes in her wallet digging around for spare coins when she bumped headfirst into someone's back.

"Oof-," she apologized quickly, looking at who she'd run into.

"Oh, my apologies." A boy with two toned hair apologized. Guess they both had plans for getting some good vending machine food.

"No no sorry it was my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going." She laughed at herself, digging out a couple quarters and placing it into the slot. She pressed a button and waited for the bag of chips to fall down but, it got stuck. Y/n sighed, what luck huh?

"Oh uhm, here." He slipped a couple quarters into the machine and clicked the same button as her, simultaneously pushing her bag off into the slot and dispensing a second one.

"Oh- Thanks!" She grabbed both bags out of the slot, handing one to him. He took it from her hand and have her a quick nod. Y/n headed back down to hallway to meet her friends when-

"Who do you think you are huh?! Standing in the doorway like that! Some people are trying to get through you know?! God- do you think of anyone but yourself?!" A girl her age was yelling at a group of older looking kids in the middle of the hallway. A taller purple haired boy was frantically trying to pull her away, seemingly quite embarrassed for her and himself. Y/n being y/n she swerved right outta there and took a different route to her bro's.

"I got chips!" Y/n held up the bag.

"Oooh can I have some!" Kaminari looked up from his phone.

"Sure." Y/n opened the bag and handed it to Kaminari, who took a very generous handful. "Geez Denki, don't take the whole bag!" Y/n whined.

"If he eats all of your chips you can have some of Baku's, I'm sure he'll share!" Kirishima laughed.

"Eh?! STOP EATING MY FOOD DAMNIT!" Bakugo yelled at the redhead.

Y/n had decided to tag along with boom boom boy after school let out. He wasn't much for small talk but he'd listen to her yammer on about her favorite anime, occasionally nodding to give her the illusion that he was listing.

"Com-ere pretty girl!!" A deranged voice called out from a ways behind them. Y/n felt her spine run cold, she started to turn her head to look behind her but bakugo's Hand blocked her view. He turned her head back forward, picking up pace.

"Keep walking," his voice was low and quiet. "Go on ahead for a second, I'll catch up with you." Y/n sped up a bit, walking ahead of him while he stopped to turn around and face the man. The man who had catcalled her looked to be around his 30s and was definitely on something strong

"Oi! Who the hell raised you, a pig?" Bakugo raised a hand to show the man what he could do. Bright flashes and loud pops coming from his palms. "You aren't
gonna go very far in life if you treat every person you meet like something you can stick your dick into." He spat at the man before turning back around and walking back to catch up with y/n.

"Thanks..." y/n's eyes were glued to the sidewalk as she kept walking.

"Tch, don't thank me. Bastard's gross." He shoved his hands into his pockets.

Y/n waved Bakugo goodbye when their paths home parted them. She didn't get much back except for a huff and a turn of the head. A small smile crept onto her lips. Initially, what the man had said to her mad made her sick but, since Bakugo was there his presence alleviated some of that feeling. If he hadn't been there she probably would've gone home feeling horrible but, he'd been there.
