Prologue

I dislike everyone I know in this family...

"Don't throw that glass at your sister, you might shatter it!"

"She has the guts to walk down those stairs in the morning, I wish I never saw her again."

"She's so strange, she's always alone."

"You're the reason she's dead, I wish you would just disappear!"

"I hope she gets hit by a car."

...

She just sat in her small room where there was barely space for her small bed. She held her phone, which she had saved up for herself.

Taking her headset over her ears, she was enchanted by the calm music while the loading screen showed.

This was her escape.

A world that was far beyond her reach. Still, it was the place she felt most safe.

As she entered the game she could play for hours.

Teyvat was beautiful.

The newest thing in the game was when Sumeru was leaked. She couldn't wait for the release.
She couldn't wait to see her favorite character again.

She felt weird thinking about it, but she kind of understood him. The feeling of abandonment and betrayal. Maybe that's why he's her favorite.

"I wish we could both be happy."

-

She held her bag of take away in her hand and walked out of the small fast food diner.

When she opened her umbrella and walked out from under the roof she could hear the rain colliding with it.

So peaceful.

-

"Get the hell out of my house!"

A vase was thrown right next to her head, causing it to break against the wall.

Y/n's eyes were wide in shock as she had just walked back into the house.

"I'm done with you get the hell out!" Her father screamed at her.

Her three older brothers all stood in the living room, looking in towards the kitchen where he had been yelling.

They didn't stand up for her. They never did.

"What?..." She simply asked.
The bags under her eyes were visible, it was obvious she didn't get much sleep.

"He said get the hell out!" One of her brothers yelled from the living room.

She was being kicked out. In the end, she always knew this moment would happen sooner or later.

That was a terrible thing... knowing that their hatred would build up to this.

She hates this family.
No. That's not the right word.
She hates this group of misthrown trash.

"...u... y..." she muttered.

The father hit his fist in the wall. "Speak louder you idiot!"

"Fuck you!" She shouted back.

She never shouted back. The three sons of a bitch all stood in the living room with wide eyes.

And the bitch himself stood in front of her, growing angrier by the moment.

"I didn't ask for anything from this family! Yet you couldn't stop asking from me! 'Y/n go get the food', 'Y/n go answer the phone.', Y/n this, Y/n that. Go fuck yourself!" She clenched her teeth and hit her lip until blood was trailing down her cheek.

They didn't say anything after she had yelled. Did they have nothing to say back?

She could have sworn she saw a small hint of guilt in their eyes.
They probably knew they were helpless without her.

Y/n didn't wait another moment and she walked out the door, making sure to slam it hardly as she walked.

She didn't know where she was going, but as long as she got 10 kilometers away from the house, it didn't matter.

-

She got ready to cross the road.
She even looked both ways twice.

As soon as she was in the middle of the road,
a loud screeching sound was heard against the ground.

Car wheels, sliding against the wet ground.

She saw big flashing lights in the corner of her eyes and before she could even turn to look, she couldn't see, feel, or hear anything.

-

This was unfair.
Her whole life had just been unfair.

It wasn't her fault that her mother died giving birth to her...

It wasn't her fault they all wanted her gone...

It wasn't her fault no one wanted to interact with her at school...

It was never her fault...

She just wanted to be loved, was that too much to ask?

In the end she couldn't have many good moments to remember as her life flashed before her eyes.

-

Y/n pov:

*beep* *beep* *beep*;
The sound of hospital machines beeping over and over again, signaling that I was still alive.

Or... that's what I thought...

After a few more seconds, the sound of the machine faded away, and was slowly replaced by the sound of... birds?

What the hell...

Did someone leave the hospital window open in front of a summer paradise?

I could hear ocean, smell grass and fruit.

"Im still alive..." I muttered.

I remembered everything that happened before I fell unconscious.

"The car..."

I tried forcing my eyes open, and after a while, I succeeded.
The sight was not what I expected.

Instead of an uncomfortably white hospital, there was just... nature.

The grass I was laying in was greener than possible. There weren't many trees as I was laying on top of a small cliff.
The sky was so blue.

As I looked over the cliff I saw islands. Familiar islands.

The time I spent playing that game, it wouldn't be weird if I recognized these islands immediately.

"Watatsumi? Narukami? Inazuma?!" I exclaimed to myself.
I rubbed my eyes many times, but the image wouldn't go away.

"No... no there's no way." I said again.

My mouth was agape.

*slap*

I slapped myself, hard. It hurt.

Then I pinched my cheek hard.
Then I purposely stubbed my toe against a tree.

I was still here.

"This... this isn't a dream..." I gasped.

"Did I really die?"

Theories came into my head immediately;
1. Lucid dream
2. I ended up in heaven
3. I had reincarnated into Teyvat

I hoped so it was the last one.

I stood up and looked over the cliff again.
I took a deep breath and then shouted.

"Let's fucking go!!!!" I jumped around happily, hoping no one would see my little outburst of happiness.

My clothes had changed from my sweatpants and hoodie. (Go ahead and be creative with your new outfit.)

My hairstyle was new and my hair wasn't dirty.

I ran down the hill with a happy smile, as if I hadn't just experienced death and been reborn into another world.

Does this mean I can meet people?!

Maybe I'll meet Aether, or Lumine! Or Paimon!

I ran along the newfound beach and towards Narukami Island.

-

I stepped foot into the city.
It wasn't that big. Some buildings looked new. It was smaller than it was in the game...

I need to find out what time it is. Has the story quest from the traveler even begun?

Have they even entered Mondstadt?

I walked further into the city.

Then... my questions were answered as my eyes widened.

My head turned as I watched a figure walk by.

He was covered in white with a cloth over his head. His hair was purple that resembled that of The Electro Archon.

My mouth was agape as I looked at him.

At least I knew now. The story of the Traveler definitely hadn't started yet.

Kunikuzushi...

He was a lot prettier close up.

His face was no imperfections, it was smooth and his eyes were sharp yet gentle. His eyes had sharp color and he wore a nice smile as he walked. He definitely wasn't a harbinger yet.

I had stopped walking as my eyes kept following him while he walked.

I then remembered everything about him. His future. The people he will hurt. How he will hurt himself.

It felt so unreal.

I walked after him. "Excuse me?"

He turned and we had eye contact. He didn't look away, nor did I.

Perhaps it was more me understanding how he feels deep inside, and less the fact that he was so gorgeous.

"Can I help you?" Kunikuzushi asked me.

His voice was exactly like the voice I heard in the game every time he spoke.

It's weird to say I cared so much for a character that wasn't real.
But now... he sort of is real, isn't he?

I gave him a small bow and then held out my hand. "Y/n."

I had decided.
I will save you Kunikuzushi, from your terrible future.

Author:

Hello!! I am baaaaaaaack!!!👋

I definitely didn't expect this to be my next book, but oh well.
I thought I would be doing Cyno or Albedo, but Scaramouche got a big lore drop so...

This book takes inspiration from Authors favorite novel: Death is the only ending for a villainess.

Now let me just get this right out:
If you are not a Scaramouche fan or dislike him, this definitely isn't a book for you.
There is a lot of Scaramouche appreciation.
If you dislike Scaramouche or are here to hate or mock then respectfully go away, this is not for you!

Personally I think he's a great character and the game would not have been the same without him.

I hope you enjoy reading and if you're here from my previous books, welcome back!
