Y/n pov:

Standing on the balcony, I looked out at the scenery of Sumeru, and the city.
Nahida, or Lesser Lord Kusanali as she introduced herself... we've sort of... teamed up...

"I knew there was something wrong with this city." I spoke to Kusanali. She nodded her head. "The sages are planning something, but I don't know what it is." She said, sounding frustrated.

I sighed. "So let me get this straight..." I started, she met my eyes as I looked down at her.
"I'm the only one who can see you?" I asked as she nodded her head in confirmation.

"Yes, I don't know how, but I'm glad it's you, daughter of Reincarnation." Nahida said.

"And you're Lesser Lord Kusanali?" I asked again. She nodded her head. "Yes, but I'd like to go with Nahida between us." She said with an adorable smile.

"And you're locked in somewhere?" I asked her.
She nodded sadly. "Yes, hence I cannot go outside my carriage... which is why I'd like us to team up." She spoke.

I've become her eyes and her ears inside and outside of Sumeru. If this is a national problem, I'm sure Aether is bound to show up sooner or later.

-

Two weeks has passed since I've teamed up with Nahida.

I cannot find the connection with everything. The sages are keeping their eyes on me, I think I've been too close to the sanctuary lately... or it might be that they can't see my information within the Akasha Terminal, and they dislike it.

Nahida told me my information was blocked out. Thank goodness.

-

Two more weeks passed by, it's been four weeks.

I've told Nahida a great deal about myself and so has she in return. She's not loved by many, the sages are keeping her locked up, she was found by the sages five hundred years ago after Greater Lord Rukkhadevata passed.

I told her I've been through another life, in another world, I didn't tell her too much. Just enough for her to understand me as well.
She knows about Kunikuzushi, she doesn't know about Scaramouche.

-

Two more weeks had passed, it's been a month and a half.

The sages are following me, I've been noticing spies at the eating resorts I go to, or if I just walk around the city.

Nahida thinks they're planning on locking me up as well. They know something up with me.

Nahida has been possessing Katheryne's body to walk with me, to make it seem like I wasn't alone all the time. It's kind of sad, really. I need some friends.

-

Two more weeks have passed, it's been two whole months.

We suspect the sages are planning to do something with the Akasha Terminals. Nahida thinks it's a time loop.

And I think they're stealing peoples dreams with the terminal. I haven't taken my own off, it was my own idea.

She said the terminal might not negatively affect me since I'm not fully from Teyvat. And so I thought I might as well use it, in case anything happened that I wanted to catch on to.

I knew my intuition was correct, infinite knowledge is too good to be true, especially in the hands of every mortal who enters the city.

Why would the sages steal dreams though, they need the power for something.

-

It's been another week.

With a small bird in my hand, I lifted my hand up towards the top of the tree, motioning for it to fly all the way up.

It chirped and started flying. I hid behind a building and entered its mind. I saw it fly towards a window of the Sage's building.

I told her to fly inside the window and so she did, she flew between chairs to stay hidden, and stayed there for a while, waiting for a better vessel for me to use.

The grand Sage along with a few more beside him walked into a room. As the door was open, I jumped from the bird and to a gecko which was crawling on the floor.

I told it to crawl into the room, and so it did. It hid under the table and camouflaged to the wooden table.

I listened in on the whole conversation.

-

"On the sabzerus festival, they're starting a time loop. With it and the dreams they've stole they're storing power for something." I told Nahida.
She thought as I spoke nodding her head, understandingly.

"What could need that much power?..." she thought.

"Something big, if they're willing to risk lives this way, it's most likely not something good either." I said, stating the obvious. She nodded. "We'll have to stop them... but I don't know how..." she said, sighing.

That's when I spoke my idea.
I apologize Aether. It seems I'll keep manipulating you this way. Call it curiosity.
"I know someone... I can get him mixed up into this, trust me, we'll have a much better chance then." I said. She hummed.

"Alright, if you think that's the best thing to do. I trust your judgement."
She says.

It's the only thing I can think about. And yet, I don't feel bad that the only thing I can think of... is to manipulate my way into victory.

-

Three months have passed since I teamed up with Nahida.

With me, who's got eyes and ears everywhere in Sumeru, I can easily tell when Aether is here.
It's just about waiting now...

Y/n pov:

Hey... at least I took my own hint and got some friends.
Although they're eremites, I don't mind.
Their choices doesn't affect me, so why should I care? Call it defense mechanism or whatever you want. I call it an interesting way to make friends.

I sat in the warm sand, watching two of the women dancing around a fire. It was dark outside, the fire was the only thing lighting up their beautiful figures as they moved so elegantly.

The well built men were sparring each other or drinking. I sat with the girls, some of them dancing, some of them sitting next to me.

Not the most typical type of friends, but it's alright. I haven't chosen any side and I won't do so, I move how I want. If I feel like it, I'll betray whoever I want. My side is no one's side, just me, myself and I.

With my powers, I can see everywhere, hear what I want to hear, move where I want to. My consciousness is free. So why wouldn't I become friends with someone who's at least feeling as free as me?

I laughed along with the girls as one of the women was pushed into the sand by the other as a fun little gesture.

As the sounds fade away with everyone's laughter, I look around at them all. They all have their eyes covered. I've noticed this about plenty of the enemies to fight in the game. Where the developers decide to cover the enemies eyes.

To not feel bad about killing them, so you don't see them as people. To think I would kill all of these if I was sitting behind a screen right now.
I've already killed so many people though.

I shook away the darker thoughts as one of the girls with pigtails grabbed my hands and pulled me up.

"Dance with us Y/n!" She hummed happily.
They weren't doing much, mostly just spinning around giggling. In the end, I ended up spinning around with them, as all of us held hands and twirled each other in circles.

A girl with brown pigtails taught me how to dance like her, it was refreshing.
Was this what Gisela meant when she told me to live?

3rd pov:

Y/n walked alone around in the desert.
Or... somewhat alone.

At least five red vultures followed her and circled above her in the sky.

Y/n could see their shadows in the sand as she walked, although she didn't care, they wouldn't hurt her. They couldn't. She was their demigod.
It wasn't bad to think this highly of oneself right?
Call it confidence. It's not a god complex, I swear.

She was looking for one specific vulture.
Then that specific vulture came flying from afar towards her. She looked up at him as he flew down and landed in front of her.

"Found him?" She asked the vulture.
He shrieked, which was enough for her to know his answer.

"Very well, good boy then." She said and gave him a short head pat. He flew away soon after.

The sabzeruz festival is in a few days.
