"He acted like I wasn't even there!" Olive threw her hands in the air as she paced back and forth inside her aunt's living room.

While her niece prattled on, Aunt Joy became the receiving end of Olive's frustrations. She was ironing clothes opposite the fireplace, which was her nightly routine at 7 o'clock in the evening.

"I know I should be more sympathetic, but he fricking ignored me! What kind of guy does that?" Olive plopped on the sofa, letting the warm cushions take her in. She breathed a heavy sigh, thinking about whether she should request to Mr. Rimsfeld to switch profiles again.

"Maybe you could offer a peace offering?" Aunt Joy folded freshly ironed clothes then placed them in her laundry basket.

Olive raised an eyebrow. "A peace offering?"

Aunt Joy looked Olive in the eye, her laundry basket clutched between her arms. "Well you did say that you were the first visitor he's had in a while. It's only reasonable that he's suspicious. Besides, there's a reason why he's there in the first place. He's not exactly like... normal." She gestured to Olive to remove her scarf.

Olive knew her aunt was right, but she wouldn't let her wounded ego down."I highly doubt a peace offering is going to convince a murderer to pay attention to a senior college girl who's interviewing him for the sake of her grade." She unwrapped her scarf, and placed it along with her gloves inside the basket. "I mean, I know I should be thankful I have this opportunity but is it really worth feeling like an idiot every time I see him?"

Her Aunt Joy sighed, giving Olive a brief kiss on her forehead. "We both know you already have the answer to that question." Aunt Joy left the living room, leaving Olive resting quietly on the living room couch.

The truth was that she did want to go back, learn more about Joseph, but she hated how she felt when she was alone in the room with him. Her words trailed off every time she wanted to speak, and she got lost in her thoughts simply hearing him speak.

Olive doubted a peace offering would do any thing to help, but she figured she might at least give it a try.
