Chapter 5: Mayumi
Second Week of the 3rd day of Classes, while Mayumi was browsing through the books in the school library in the local fantasy section, She saw a flyer posted on the bookshelf.

What: After School Recruitment for a new club
Where: Meet at the school rooftop in the new building
When: Today
Requirements:
• 1st-year students only
• Passing Grade in all subjects
Note: If the number of people who arrived exceeded the number, then the recruiter would choose the best applicants.

She frowned after reading the flyers. It appeared to be recruitment for a new club. After thinking about it, she decided to take a look at the new club. She doesn't have any job, so she might as well try. If the club isn't meaningful, She could quit the club after a few days of joining.

After all of the classes ended, Mayumi bid farewell to some of her classmates. Walking around the hallways, she saw a familiar face. It was the 1st year student from the other class who also have the same green-colored hair like her. People with colored hair are very rare. Meeting someone who has the same hair color is also rare. Her parents should have the same hair color as her, but it appears to be that she inherited the gene trait from her grandmother on her father's side. Unfortunately, her father didn't inherit this trait which appears rarely in their bloodline.
She always felt insecure when some people stare at her for a very long time and always wonders if the reason that they stared at her was because of her hair. She even contemplated dying her hair but she was afraid that it was against the rules. Mayumi doesn't want to be punished. She has heard some rumors about a very strict teacher.
Mayumi feels less burdened with someone who has the same colored hair as her. She felt happy that she wasn't strange. Gathering her courage, she walked toward the student and talk to him. Mayumi also wanted to befriend this student who she still doesn't know anything about.
" Umm... "
Horo Tokio looked at the long green hair girl who approached him suddenly. Carefully looking at her, he identified her as the anime original character who has filled the role of Nosaka Miho in a certain episode of Anime. She was the girl who planned to confess her love to Joey Wheeler/ Katsuya Jounouchi.
If he wasn't wrong, her name was...
" Mayumi-san? "
" Eh?! You know my name? "
Mayumi looks at the 1st year student in Class 1-A in surprise. She didn't expect him to know her identity. Mayumi felt flustered, she doesn't even know the name of the person in front of her, but it was the opposite for him. How shameful! Wait, was she known by some students in school? Is she popular? Thinking about those thoughts in directions makes Mayumi secretly happy.
The student in front of her nodded his head slightly.
" I am aware of your identity and some other students from the other classes. "
She felt surprised by the information. So it wasn't just her? While she was having a conversation in front of her, Mayumi also thought that it was different from staring at the person in the distance and talking to him personally. Now that she was in front, she just noticed that being stared at by his crimson pair of eyes– the feeling is a little uncomfortable.
" Could I ask what Mayumi-san needed from me? "
Mayumi averted her eyes as she felt more embarrassed. How should she say the words? It sounds so shameful! But she shouldn't be back on her decisions! She can do it!
" Um. I-..I. Could I... I wanted to be your... friend.. "
The last word that she said was so quiet that it was almost unheard. Thankfully, they were the only people in the hallway and there wasn't any noise in the background.
The Class 1-A student looks at her in surprise. After a while, he answered which raised her nervousness to the peak.
" Okay.. "
" Really?! "
" Yes.. "
Mayumi then bowed her head.
" Thank you very much!– "
After saying those words, Mayumi felt embarrassed again as she still doesn't know his name. She felt too embarrassed to ask about his name and decided to ask another question.
" Did you also see the flyer for the new club in the library? "
The 1-A student nodded his head. Mayumi felt happy after the response. Since it looked like they were heading in the same direction, she was certain that her new friend would also join the new club.
With her new friend, it wouldn't boring and uninteresting to spend her days in the new club. Hopefully, the president would be a nice and kind person unlike the head of the moral club who was said to be terrifying.
Eventually, they arrived at the rooftop of the new building. There was a table and a chair placed on the floor. Yet, Mayumi felt surprised that the president of this new club wasn't still here. Is it a prank? Did they get tricked?
While Mayumi's impression of this new club president was getting worse she was surprised that her new friend suddenly sat on the chair. With a sense of schadenfreude, it was like the person in front of her was watching an interesting play.
" Aren't you angry that the irresponsible president didn't show up? "
She asked while sounding frustrated. As a result of her question, the person who was now lazily slumped his head on the table chuckled.
" I may have made some grave mistake.. "
Mayumi was confused by the words that he said but after a moment she then realize what he meant by words.
" I just wanted that the flyer wouldn't be noticed by some troublesome people so I have put it in an inconspicuous place. "
" You... "
Mayumi muttered as she gaze at the person in front of her who was wearing a mischievous smile.
" I have forgotten to introduce myself Mayumi-san. Class 1-A student Horo Tokio, Club President of LGOJ. Since you are the only one who was currently here, shall we look if you are qualified to be a member? "
