Chapter 16: Violet Hecate

    Monday soon arrived and it was another day at Domino High School again. Despite being troubled with the task of challenging the King of Games, Tokio has a promise that he wanted to fulfill.

After the classes ended, all of the members of the Leisure Games & Odd Jobs Club ended up on the rooftop of the new building.

Tokio was surprised by the additional pots and plants that he found on the rooftop. He was here when the gardening club requested his club members with the decoration of the rooftop. Now, this place become more pleasant to the eyes since he last came here.

At his stare, Mayumi puffed out her chest in pride.

" President you may not aware of this, while you are not here, the Gardening Club is furious that someone has decided to mess up the rooftop garden because of the broken pots and plants. But it also makes them more determined to make this place even more beautiful. Isn't it admirable President? "

Seeing the genuine pride that Mayumi have for those gardening club members, Tokio decided to agree.

" Indeed.. "

If he has time to slack in the future, he should come here often and spend his time sleeping in this place. Hopefully, in the future, someone would manage to bring a tree to this rooftop and he can sleep under the shade.

" President Tokio, are you prepared for your ass to get beaten? "

While Tokio was thinking of his slacker life, Tomoyuki called out to him. He wasn't the one who would duel him, why is he the one who sounds excited? He then glances at Tomoyuki who was sitting on one of the benches on the rooftop, but he was surprised by what he sees on Tomoyuki's shoulder.

" Is that a parrot?! "

Tokio asked incredulously.

" Yup! Didn't I tell you that we have a pet parrot at home? It is this guy! Anyway, his name is Nobunaga! "

{ Nobu! Nobu! }

Tokio massage his forehead a little bit and decided to just let Tomoyuki do his own thing. He then turned his head and glanced at Risa who was already sitting on the opponent's chair.

" I am your opponent today Tokio, you shouldn't let your attention be diverted by a weird guy. "

" Hey! I am not a weird guy cause I brought Nobunaga here!! "

Tomoyuki called out to the side while Mayumi and Hailey giggled beside him. Risa ignored Tomoyuki and reveal a feral smile that was full of bloodlust.

" I would beat you Tokio! "

Tokio who sat on the opposite chair shivered under the intense gaze of Risa. Why does she look so competitive and passionate today? Tokio still remembered the punch that came from her. It fucking hurts.

" Risa, can you calm yourself down first? "

" Hmph, no way. We should start the game as soon as possible since my sisters would be worried if I didn't return some of the cards that I borrowed from them. "

" I see. But how about we change the usual rules of the duel monster first to have a fulfilling battle? Don't you think that 2000 points are too little? We should make it to 4,000. "

Risa narrowed her eyes and asked dubiously.

" I think that you only didn't just want to make LP 4000 don't you President? You may have also modified some rules. Just like what you did with some of our games..  "

She muttered under Tokio's wry smile. On the side, the trio was booing for Tokio.

" As expected of the Shameless President! "

" President. (Sigh) "

" Well, we should have gotten used to it. "

Tokio glared at them suddenly feeling embarrassed but he knows that he was just making the current rules of the duel monsters to have some logic and sense as possible.

" You don't need to shame the president, everyone... "

Risa smiled at them and turned her gaze to Tokio.

" So let's hear your rules president..."

Tokio composed himself under the gazes of his friends and started declaring the rules. He started explaining the Super Expert rules during the battle city but without the presence of Trap Cards and this Season 0's ridiculous field card and their mouth spouting bullshit regarding the myths of the monsters, type, and elemental weaknesses.

After listening, all of them stared at Tokio with indecipherable expressions. Risa then decided to remove the field on the table and they modify the table together base on Tokio's explanation of battle city rules with modification.

" Without the field, we are at both disadvantages president. There's no terrain to amplify the attack of our monsters. "

Tokio shrugged his shoulders.

" I'm fine with it. "

" I see.. "

Rika then passed her deck to Tokio and he also did the same to her. They shuffled each of their set cards five times before returning it to each other.

" So who would be the first? I could ask Tomoyuki to have a coin toss for us or we can decide it by rock paper and scissors. "

Tokio shook his head.

" No need, you can have the privilege. Ladies first. "

Risa scoffed then she started drawing 5 cards from her deck.

" You would regret your decision, President. "

She smirked as she stared at her 5 drawn cards. Tokio instantly got a bad feeling when Risa revealed that accursed spell card with a wretched smile.

" I activate the pot of Greed and draw 2 cards! "

Fuck! Pot of Greed in the first turn!

" I set a card in defense position and end my turn. "

Tokio stared at the set monster card. He doesn't know what monster or deck is Risa using but he was certain that it was high defense monster.

" My turn... Draw! "

He stared at the 5 cards he had drawn and the additional +1 since he was the 2nd turn player.

[ Book of Secret Arts, Flash Assailant, Spirit of the Harp, Darklord Marie, Raigeki, Red Archery Girl ]

Tokio smiled at the cards that he have gotten. He then notices Risa and the trio of bystanders strange staring at him.

" Hey, why are you looking at me like that?! "

" I never expected the president to be so dramatic. "

Hailey muttered while Mayumi and Tomoyuki agreed to her statement.

" President, I didn't expect you to be a Chuuni! "

" Shut up!! "

Sooner or later, they would regret their words! This would be a natural thing and some more dramatic people was existing out there!

" I set a monster in defense position. I end my turn! "

Risa chuckled and Tokio glared at her.

" I summon a monster in attack position and flip summon my set defense position monster to attack position. "

[ Dunames Dark Witch 1800/1050 ]
[ Giant Soldier of Stone 1300/2000  ]

" Dunames Dark Witch destroy the monster! "

" You made a wrong move Risa! "

[ Spirit of the Harp 800/2000 ]

" Tch. it's just 200 points.. "

[ Kageyama Risa LP 4000 →3800 ]

" Tokio, it's your turn! "

" Okay! It's my turn, Draw! "

[ Horn of the Unicorn ]

" I sacrifice my Spirit of the Harp to summon Darklord Marie! "

[ Darklord Marie 1700/1200 ]

" I activate my spell card, Horn of the Unicorn, and equip it to Darklord Marie! "

[ Darklord Marie 1700/1200 →2400/1900 ]

" Darklord Marie attack Giant Soldier of Stone! "

[ Kageyama Risa LP 3800→ 2700 ]

" Woooh!! President too Powerful!! "

[ Powerful! Powerful! ]

" Shut up Tomoyuki! "

Tokio doesn't know if Tomoyuki was praising or mocking him but he only felt ashamed of that guy.

" ...I end my turn. "

Risa then drew a card from her deck and sighed.

" I activated the card red medicine to gain 500 life points "

[ Kageyama Risa LP 2700 →3200 ]

" I set a monster in defense position and change Dunames Dark Witch to defense position, end turn. "

Tokio then glance at Risa who was currently frowning. It seems that her situation isn't good.

" My turn. Draw! "

Even though Risa was his friend and sympathetic to her plight, A duel is still a duel.

[ Spirit of the Harp ]

" Sorry Risa.. "

" What do you mean by that huh Tokio? "

Tokio grinned and reveal his spell card. Risa gasped as she was under the spell.

" It can't be.. "

" I will end you in this turn! Activate the spell card Raigeki which destroys my opponent's monsters in the field! "

" Damn you Tokio! "

Risa gnashed her teeth while Mayumi and Hailey were alarmed by her behavior.

" Risa you can't just curse! "

" Pay attention to your image! "

Tokio then summoned another card on the field.

" I summon Red Archery Girl in attack position! "

[ Red Archery Girl 1400/1500 ]

" Now that you don't have a monster in your field, I attack your life points directly! Darklord Marie attack! "

[ Kageyama Risa LP 3200 →800 ]

" Prepare for the final blow! Red Archery Girl Direct Shot!! "

[ Kageyama Risa LP 800 → 0 ]

" ..I win Risa. "

[ Host won against Kageyama Risa– a standard low-level duelist ]

[ Host is awarded 500 points and 1000 experience ]

[ Host has level up to level 6 ]

[ Host gained 6 attribute points ]

Risa glared at him for a few seconds that which cause shivers in Tokio for a moment. Thankfully, it only lasted a few seconds and Risa retracted her glare while sighing.

" If I just got a good draw.. "

She muttered to herself but Tokio still heard her. He can understand what she feels since he has experienced it a lot in his past life. She can't do much since trap cards still do not exist. It's a pitiful situation.

While Tokio was thinking about Risa's situation, the latter called out to him.

" Tokio! "

" What is it? "

" Let's play again, next time! "

Tokio smiled when he heard those words.

" Sure! Anytime you want, I'm always available! "

As the other heard those words, Risa and the bystander trio could feel faces turn red in embarrassment.

" President! How can you say those words?! "

Mayumi glared at him while Hailey was frantically nodding her head by her side.

[ Shameless! Shameless! ]

" That's right, Nobunaga! The president is shameless! "

" Hmph! You just got lucky in your draws. Next time for sure I would defeat you Tokio! "

" Okay. "

Tokio decided to agree as he doesn't want to have another experience of Risa's painful punch. But then he heard Risa's disappointed sigh.

" It's just a pity that I didn't manage to use the cards that I borrowed from my sisters...... It's not like I can summon our powerful monster either with that one missing requirement. "

Tokio has his curiosity piqued at Risa's words.

" Could I see the cards? "

Tokio asked Risa. The latter then nodded her head and revealed a scheming smile.

" Then, how about you also reveal some of your cards that I haven't seen? "

" Sure, Let's reveal 5 cards to each other. "

Tokio started looking at his deck and then revealed 5 cards in his hand.

Risa then revealed the 5 cards that she borrowed from her 2 sisters.

[ Red Hecate, Yellow Hecate, Gorgon, Witch of the Black Forest, Gorgon Egg ]

As Tokio stared at the cards, he frowned as he started to get a sense of familiarity and deja vu.

" What's wrong Tokio?"

Risa asked as her short violet hair fluttered with the wind.

" Gorgon.. "

Tokio muttered to himself. Risa smiled as she heard his words.

" If I can summon our Ace Card then, It would be you who would lose! It's a pity that Violet Hecate is still missing. I'm an embarrassment to my sisters~ "

Risa doesn't sound appear to mocking herself when she said those words. She was still upbeat and not annoyed at the situation.

But as Tokio stared at the girl before him and the card on her hands, Tokio came into a horrifying realization.

" Blackrose Academy... "

Tokio muttered as Risa froze when she heard those words but then she immediately composed herself and revealed a shy yet bright smile on her face.

" So, you finally remembered president? "

Tokio doesn't understand what Risa was implying but he could finally remember one thing that was important.

Risa was a very pretty and beautiful girl. Tokio should have keep in his mind that there's no way a pretty girl like her is just a mob character! He should have realize that the girl standing in front of him was one of the Yugioh DM Season 0 villain cannon fodders Kageyama Risa.. The Violet Hecate collector. But what is she doing in Domino High School instead of studying at Black Rose Academy with her sisters?
