"Come on y/n! Your loser colleagues are here to take you to Camp Crystal Lake!"

Y/n's roommate shouts up the stairs as the young twenty one year old gathered her suitcase and frantically pulled on some black high top converse sneakers.

Soon honking was heard outside the two story house.

"I'm coming!" she shouts back, tying the laces as fast as she could.

Finally pulling on a maroon over-sized sweater over her black tank top and skinny jeans, and pulling out her long jet black hair, y/n slung her backpack filled with road trip necessities over her shoulder, and ran down the stairs; her case rolling behind her, hitting each step loudly.

"Jeez pet, you really need to bring a backpack too? You're so prepared for anything huh." your  friend smirked, holding the door open for you, reaching over to fix your messy bangs.

You met Lilith in college freshman year, you helping her study and her protecting you from harassers. You were a curvy girl so you got attention, but you were too pure for this world and couldn't stand pervs. You two became inseparable ever since she drop kicked a senior for you in the parking lot. You didn't care about her face and ear piercings or arm tattoos. You tell people you just liked her for her, and that's it. You honestly taught her style was pretty and bold. Her pink pixie cut was her halo in your eyes.

Having to go on your tippy toes, you give your best friend a big hug around her neck.
"Bye Lil, stay safe! I made you muffins and put it in the fridge. Don't catch a cold okay, it's going to rain and-"

Lilith pulled away, pushing you out the door.
"Yes, yes, thanks mom." she teased. "If they mess with you, you know my number, so call me okay!!" she shouted as y/n walked towards the large van waiting outside, waving back smiling and giving an okay signal.
"Who's a mom now Lil!" you giggled back.

After Lilith had went back inside, the white van door opened, and y/n got hit with a cloud of smoke.
"W-what the h-heck?" you coughed waving your arms around.

A man with brown shaggy hair; obviously high, glared at you.
"What took so long y/n?!-" he did an eye swoop of your body. "Damn! You get thicker every time I see you short stuff!"
Uncomfortable, you decided to sit in the corner, away from the male with ill intentions.
"S-sorry Rodney, I was getting my things."  You held onto your bag as a shield, and used your suit case as a seat. Considering there was no actual places to sit.

"Yeah whatever sweet cakes." Rodney said, taking another hit on the bong.

"So I guess we should get introduced!" A girl sitting in the front seat clapped to get the attention of the group. There was four total, including you. "I'm Ariel! You must be y/n." The red head pulled up her too small tube top. "Nice to meet you-" she looked at the half conscious Rodney then back to you. "-I hope...."
You could've sworn you saw the death glare that Lil always wore looking at the news.

"She must like him I guess." you thought to yourself. "She can definitely have him."

"Now now Ariel, let's not pick fights. We're here for the kids am I right y/n?" the driver said, catching your eye with a wink in the rear view mirror.
You smiled back. "Hmm, he seems nice."
"Shut up Fred. Fine. But that dumbass is MINE, got it y/n?" she said, pointing at Rodney, then herself.
"Y-yeah." you whispered, knowing fully aware you didn't want him in the first place.

About 2 hours past, with the blond guy Fred driving, Ariel on her phone, Rodney passed out and y/n listening to Beethoven, while reading a book on flowers; they finally arrived.

Yawning and stretching, Rodney finally regained awareness.
"Where are we man?"

"Pulling up to the Camp now, sleeping beauty." Fred answered.

"Piss off." he rubbed his temples, grumbling. "Damn, I need to stop getting high in moving cars."
Hearing that he was awake, Ariel perked up, and looked back.
"Heyyy! Roddie, wanna go skinny dipping in the lake?!"

"Maybe later."
"Hmpf!" she pouted. Catching your eye, she gave a scowl.
"You're too fat to skinny dip y/n. Maybe your ass will keep you afloat though." she scoffed and left the van, when Fred parked in the shade.

Looking confused at what just happened, you paused your music and took out your earbuds.
"Pardon?"

Fred barked out a laugh and left the vehicle, opening the sliding door.
"Don't worry about it." he winked again.

Rodney climbed out first, walking towards the main cabin and cursing under his breath about the heat, his headache, and mainly everything he could think to whine about.

You followed then after, placing your book back into your bag, along with your ipod and earbuds. It's old fashioned to have classical music on an ipod, but you liked home phones rather than smart ones. You only called Lilith and your Mom anyways. As an only child with an absent Father, you didn't have the desire for one. You were always working at the elementary school library; they knew where to find you.

Before you reached the group of young adults, you noticed that the Camp Crystal Lake sign was marked out and painted over with "Camp Blood"

Looking sad, you brushed over the words with your finger.
"Who would do such a thing to such a pretty sign?" you pondered out loud, not really knowing who would hear.

"-It'S TRUE yOU kNOW!" a raspy voice said behind you.

"Kya!" you screamed, turning around, dropping your pack in the process.

You came face to face with an old man, who looked like he wanted to preach something to you. "There's a kiLLER in these woods!" he yelled, clutching your shoulders and pulling on your sweater.
"U-mmm, you're hurting me Sir!" you panicked, not knowing what to do.

"Leave her alone you old geezer!"

Suddenly Fred was in between you two, peeling the old mans fingers off your arms.
"I'm TryIng to HElP you!"  the man shot daggers at you both.

"Being a touchy creep isn't helping man!" Fred looked mad, but you didn't know why. You just met, why was he helping you?

"I'll call the cops!" he threatened, still hiding you behind his back.

"Woah... he's tall..."  you thought, gazing up at him."No wait- I'm just short."  you mentally face palmed.

"ThE cOps can't savEE you fRom JASON, son!" "LEave This PlaceE!!"

Arguing back and forth with Fred, a police officer pulled up, on a routine check of the camp.

"What seems to be the problem?" he paused, but then sighed seeing the old man.
"Come on Sir, you have to stop bugging the counselors." The officer pulled away the man, lecturing him as he shoved him in his cop car.
"Sorry about that." He did a crazy symbol twirl near his ear, getting into the car as he drove off.

Sighing in relief, Fred turned to you.
"Are you okay y/n?" he asked brushing off your shoulders gently.

Feeling your cheekS heat up, you reassured him and took a few steps back, holding your hands up in front of you; dismissing it.
"I'm alright! Sorry about that. I'm not used to being grabbed."

He gave a small and gentle smile that made your heart speed up.
"You shouldn't be used to it. Come on, let's go meet the head director of this crappy place."
he grinned and jogged back to the others on the porch.

Your smile faded.
"...did he just say crappy? I thought he wanted to help the kids..."
You frowned, visibly upset.

"I think it's beautiful here."
Looking out at the shimmering lake, you gave a soft sigh and smile admiring the view.

*CLANG!*

Startled, you look back at what appeared to be a barn or shed for hay storage.
"Holy moly, what was that?"
You were about to go investigate, when you heard the group shouting your name.

"Y/n! God, what's taking you so long?! The director is here!"
You rolled your eyes at the whiny red head's voice.

Deciding to let it go, you grabbed your bag and walked towards the others.
"Huh, seems lighter than I remember." You checked your bag but couldn't seem to know what was missing. "Oh well."

Reaching the porch, you sat at a table by yourself, but not for long. Rodney snaked his arm around your hips as he sat, but Ariel wasn't having any of that. She dragged him away from you, as you breathed a sigh of relief.

"Good afternoon everyone!"
Another blond man, looking to be in his thirties, climbed the porch steps and stood in front of us.
"I'm Axel, but you-" he finger gunned to Ariel smirking "-can call me anytime."

"Barf." she said, rolling her eyes.

Clearing his throat, he went through papers on a clip board, skimming the pages.
"Ahem. So, it seems only one of you actually wants to be here."
"Do we have a f/n l/n?"
You shyly raised your hand, hiding your hands in your sweater.
"T-that's me."

"Ah. Yes. Hello. I see you filled out a request form to help prepare for the kids?"

"That's correct. I thought it'd be wonderful opportunity to get children to love the outdoors. So many of them stay indoors these days and I thought that-"

"YAWNNN!" Ariel said rudely.
Rodney chuckled and squeezed her butt under the table as she giggled.

"Um.. Sorry."
Your face was beet red and you lowered your head in shame.

"Yikes." Axel said as he glowered at the rest of the group. "The rest of them are here for community sentences."

Your eyes shot to where Fred was sitting and he looked away from you.

"That's because she's a stick in the mud Axel. So I got caught sleeping with the bouncer to get into a party, who cares~" the girl was grinding on Rodney at this point.

"Bruh."
"Damnnnn!"
You weren't sure who made those comments or whistles because your mind was blank.
"I'm the only one here who want to make a difference?!" you screamed in your head.

After the shocking realization of being alone on this trip, you got your cabin key from Axel and headed towards the end of the buildings. You didn't mind being near the forest end, as you could quickly walk to the lake.

*snap*
Pausing on your way to your cabin, you look at the forest alarmed, wondering what that was.
"What's with all the noise spooks here?" you asked yourself.

Thinking it was some animal, you struggled with the rusty door. Managing to get it open you put your bag on the floor. Taking your shoes off, you tided up as best you could. There was a few cleaning supplies you found in the main office closet, so those came in handy.

Evening came as you flopped on your bed, pondering on what to do next.
"Should I call Lil? ...Nah, I don't want to worry her." Tugging at your hair, you thought to yourself how much you wanted this to go well on your own. Knowing your best friend was over protective of you, but she also had her own group of friends. She was probably at her rock band practice.

There was a knock on the door.
"Y/n? Can I come in?"

Sitting up, you walked over to the door, opening it.
There revealed Fred, holding your suit case handle out to you.

"I brought your case." he said quietly, still not making eye contact.
You sighed and grabbed it.
"Thank you."
Going to close the door to unpack it, he stopped it with his foot.

"Hey, can we talk about what happened?" he said, eventually looking into your e/c eyes.
You blushed, because he was handsome, but you still were upset and disappointed.

"There's nothing to talk about. You got arrested. You don't want to be here. Just like Axel said." You somehow found the courage to say this.
"I...I thought you were different Fred."

Looking angry, but not saying a word, he took his foot away and left. You quickly closed the door, glad he didn't backlash like Lil said "nice guys" would.

Taking precaution, you locked your door. You were scared of the dark in any case, so it's just an extra step.

"Phew!"
You felt yourself relax. You were used to being alone, since Lil is always on the go.

You smirked to yourself. "Wait, I can listen to music as I unpack! y/n y/n y/n, you are a genius."

Grabbing your earbuds and ipod from your bag you played Whitney Huston's- "I Wanna Dance With Somebody".

"Clock strikes upon the hour

And the sun begins to fade~~~"

You hung up your clothes, holding an imaginary microphone.

"Still enough time to figure out

How to chase my blues away~~"

Singing, unpacking and swinging your hips dramatically to the music, you didn't notice the figure watching you outside your window.... standing behind a tree.
