"CLEO I REALLY THINK YOU should go to the pack doctor." Wyatt says from behind me as I tighten the laces on my combat boots.

I roll my eyes, but he can't see me. He's been going on about the stupid cupcake for almost 2 hours. I tie the other boot and stand up straight, turning to face him as I start to braid my hair. "I told you, I'm fine."

Something in the way I said that didn't seem to resonate well with him. It didn't sit well with me either, I didn't believe myself.

'You're not fine. You're furious.'

Cali tries to extend her claws but I hold her back.

'Don't fight me on this Cleo. You know you're not fine. You can feel it.'

I swallow the nausea I feel rising in my chest. I can feel my face pale only a little, but not enough to raise suspicion. I use the back of my hand to dab at the cold sweat that has formed at my hairline. I am not missing a training day, especially when I can feel the fury radiating off of me.

Wyatt stares at me with a look of concern. I playfully punch at his arm with a small smile. "Ready for me to kick your ass?"

His look of worry doesn't go away. I roll my eyes again, this time very obvious so that he can see me do it.

"I'm fine! I promise." I grab his hand and pull him up off the edge of my bed. "Now let's go. I am itching to fight someone."

I'm flying through the air before I'm slammed down hard up against a mat lying on the floor. Wyatt kneels above me, pinning me to the ground.

"Goddess Wyatt." He lets me up and I rub the back of my head.

"I'm sorry." He mouths to me so that the trainer doesn't see him apologize. We are not allowed to go easy on anyone or feel bad for beating them in a fight. Wyatt has never won against me, ever.

"You're a little off your game today Cleo." Patton, the trainer, says with a raised eyebrow. "Everything okay?"

Wyatt looks at me with worry waiting for my answer. I raise both of my arms up and shrug.

"I said I'm fine. Can we please just drop it already?"

I start to feel a little faint, but I brush it off. Blinking my eyes a couple times to clear my blurring vision. "Let's go again. I could do this all-"

And then everything turns black and I feel myself hitting the mat for a second time today. Someone catches my head and pulls me close to them. I recognize Wyatt's warm cinnamon scent and that's the last thing I remember before becoming completely unconscious.

I open my eyes and stare at white.

White walls.
White floors.
White ceilings.
White blanket that covers my warm body.

I kick it off, but realize I am no longer in my training clothes. They have been replaced by a white, backless hospital gown. I try to sit up but the IV in my arm pulls me back.

"Seriously?" I try to sit up again but the needle in my arm doesn't allow me to.

Wyatt and Pete burst into the room and rush to my side. The pack doctor follows them in, but with less urgency.

"You're awake!" Wyatt grabs my hand and gives it a squeeze.

"What was your first clue Sherlock?" I roll my eyes at him and turn to the doctor. "Why do I have this needle in my arm?"

"It's to keep you hydrated." He looks over his clipboard and back to me. He sighs at my annoyed expression. "You fainted. You were brought to me very dehydrated with a fair amount of wolfsbane in your system."

"Wolfsbane?" Someone tried to kill me? But how?

"Yes. Typically someone of your size with that much wolfsbane in their system would have died very quickly. We're amazed that you only fainted. We're keeping you here overnight to watch you closely. You are very lucky." And with that he leaves the room.

I turn to Pete and Wyatt. "Wolfsbane?"

They nod.

"But how? How would I have ingested wolfsbane?"

"The Doc asked me the same thing. So I went over everything you ate today." Wyatt informs me. "The only thing you ate that no one else had was the"

"The cupcake." I hear Cali growl, but she's weak so it doesn't escape my lips.

"He poisoned you." Wyatt's eyes turn almost black with anger. I give his hand a squeeze, soothing his wolf, and his eyes go back to normal.

"Who? Why would someone poison you?" I forgot that Pete wasn't there when I ate the cupcake. He doesn't know.

"Will would never go so far as to poison me." I shake my head. "He doesn't hate me that much... does he?"

"Willem? Will poisoned you?" Pete stands to his feet with his fists clenched and his chest puffed out.

"We don't know for sure if it was Will." I tell him.

"What do you mean?" Wyatt yells at me, ripping his hand from mine as he too stands to his feet. "The note said 'Enjoy Cupcake'. Who else could it have been?"

"I don't think he would poison me." I shrug. "He wouldn't."

"Then who did? Who else calls you Cupcake?" His question didn't need an answer. We all know that only the Green Eyed Jerk calls me that.

"I've got to talk to him." Pete grabs his jacket off the back of the chair he was sitting in and starts to leave.

"No!" I don't know why I yelled or why I didn't want him to leave, but something inside of me was telling my wolf it wasn't Will. He couldn't get in trouble for this. Poisoning a member of the pack that he would someday be Alpha of? The people would never trust him. An accusation like this could destroy him. "Don't say anything to anyone about this until we know for sure who it was."

"Cleo." Pete says in disbelief. "He has tormented you for years. Always teasing and pulling practical jokes on you. He dosed you with wolfsbane through a cupcake for Goddess's sake. He went too far. This has to end, he has to be punished."

"I'm with Pete on this one Cleo." Wyatt shakes his head, zipping his sweatshirt. I can tell that siding against me hurts him, but he does it anyway. He thinks it's what's best for me. "He hurt you. Something has to be done."

I sit up straight, trying to make myself seem as big as I possibly can. My eyes glare at them like daggers piercing through their chests. A low, powerful growl comes from my mouth, making them both stop dead in their tracks, mouths hung open as they sit back down. "No one is going to say anything about this to anyone, until I figure this out. Do you understand?"

They both nod, unsure of what just happened and why they listened to me when they were so dead set on punishing Will. I don't quite understand it myself. I have no idea where that came from, but I liked it, it felt natural.

Just as one of them is about to say something, most likely asking what the hell just happened, Uncle Leo comes bursting into the room with a cake in one hand and his truck keys in the other.

"You're awake!" He exclaims in between panting, trying to catch his breath. "I ran home to get your cake."

Uncle Leo takes a quick look around at Wyatt and Pete's confused faces and my shocked one.

"Did I miss something?"
