The next morning I wake up slowly, in the good way. Yes, there are good and bad ways to get up. Fortunately for me, today is a good day. The sun shines bright through the window, the blue covers pulled up to my neck are warm and cozy. Wait.

I sit up and brush my hair behind my ears and look around slowly. This isn't my room.

The sunshine shining in through the window that isn't even mine seems strange, and foreign now.

Looking around, I see pictures. Pictures of Mason and Elodie, a few of the squad together, many of Elle and Mason, and by far the most of Mason and Louise. Aw. I knew he was a closeted mommy's boy.

"So you're up." A voice calls.

I look towards the sound and see the door beginning to crack open. Mason stands there, with a dull expression on his face, and his hands shoved in his pockets of his golden colored khakis.

"Good morning." I smile lightly, unsure of what the mood, more like tension, is between us currently.

"Well, the morning part is correct, I don't know about the good." He smirks, "Your mom called Elle last night unsure of where you were. Elle freaked, realized you crashed here and told your mom that you got a job and they needed you for late hours-"

"Wait, Elle what?!"

"Jobs are the best, aren't they Lex?" He grins, "I mean if you didn't take over Elle's job you never would've met me." He finishes with a smirk.

"I wish I would've." I mutter.

"Wish all you want, you're thankful and you know it."

"Mhm. Whatever."

"You will be, soon enough."

I shake my head. Stupid kid.

-

So now apparently I have a job. That's nice. Wish I would've knew about it before suddenly having it strapped onto me like an extra heavy bag on my shoulders.

I shake my hair out of its bun and swing my legs out of the bed, casually letting my long locks fall into their usual half snarled, half down kind of do. For the time being, it works.

"Oh, good morning Alexa." I see a friendly face peek in. Oh god. Louise smiles at me cheerfully, "I made homemade waffles, if you're interested?"

"Oh, uh, sure." I respond quickly.

Please just go away before you start thinking I'm even more of a slut. Your son hates me, I promise! I'm still a virgin!

I guess Louise doesn't think much of Mason bringing home girls to stay, because she simply walks out after the invitation of waffles, and gets on with her morning.

I bet if a serial killer came to kill them all, she'd tell them to sit down and eat a nice big ham sandwich before the police came.

"So Alexa, where are you from?" Louise asks from across the breakfast island.

My heartbeat quickens. The same island I was pressed up against just twelve hours ago.

"California." I respond, "It's quite a bit of a change."

"And how old are you dear?"

"Seventeen." I smile.

Beside me, Mason fidgets with the hem of his khaki shorts.

"Where do you liv-"

"Alright mom, she doesn't need the third degree." Mason interrupts.

I glare at him, before proceeding to tell Louise where we moved to.

The next few minutes pass just as easily. Louise asks me questions, Mason blushes occasionally, and I answer the questions.

"So why are you with my son, honey? You aren't his normal girl." Louise smiles.

I nearly choke on my food and after a quick glance at Mason, I can see his mirrored expression.

"Well, actually-OW, FRACK." I get cut off with a painful kick into my shin from under the table.

Louise looks up, "Something wrong?"

I bite my lip, "Nothing, I'm fine." I grin, "And I'm with Mason because he told me he wanted a tougher girl to bring out his more sensitive side. I agreed of course, because sensitivity and feminine aspects in a guy are great."

Mason glares at me.

As Louise looks down I notice him mouthing something. I don't bother reading his lips, I simply smile and go back to eating.

Louise soft smiles at us, "Well, I'm going to go get Elodie up and see what she's up to this morning. You kids have fun."

She lifts her plate, brings it to the sink, and then exits the room.

Prepare yourself, Mason.

"What the hell are you doing, making it look like we're, we're-"

"Together?" He smirks.

I nod, "Yeah, uh, that. What's up with the stupid act? Fracking stop it already."

He looks my in the eyes, "Maybe it's not an act."

I glare at him.

He smiles, "Bad joke?"

"You're pathetic." I laugh.

Spontaneously he comes up behind me and grips my hips, pulling them back ever so slightly so they're nearly touching his.

His fingers trace up my neck and he tucks my hair behind my ear before bringing his lips around towards it as well.

I feel very self aware of the close proximity and what's happening. Wait, what even is happening? I'm not sure myself.

"No." His perfect lips whisper, so close I can feel the heat on my ear, "You're pathetic babygirl." He pulls away laughing.

I bite my lip and then laugh along with him. Ha, so funny.

This is the type of moment where I'd text lol and really be sitting on my bed expressionless. Can y'all relate, or can you relate?

I glare at him again, "I'm going to grab my stuff and then leaving, thank you for the food, wait no, I'd like to thank Louise for the food, and Elodie for the entertainment, and you for casually being a fracking waste of my time. Now if you'll excuse me." I duck under his arm and go to the room I was in feeling pretty proud of myself, actually.

I pad carefully down the hallway and am shocked to see the same room I was in. Well, not shocked, it is the same room. But every single item I'd had in it was missing.

I head back downstairs, "Mason?"

"I have your stuff." He answers, "It's in my car. I'll drive you home."

"I can drive myself."

"With what car?"

I go outside, about to point out Elle's car, when it suddenly dawns on me. She never came back last night. Quickly, I pull out my cell and dial. She answers on the first ring, "Hello?"

"Elle?" I question, "Where did you go last night and why didn't you come home?"

"Oh, hey Lex. I'm so sorry, I got busy and then completely side tracked, and I really got to go but I'll talk to you when you get back, alright?"

"No, Elle, you're leaving me with fracking boxer boy-"

The call ends mid sentence. Great. Just great.

I turn around only to see a smiling Mason leaning on the doorframe, twirling a pair of keys in his hands, "Are you ready now pretty girl?"

A/N: most voted for short more frequent updates so for now they'll be half the size of my regular/old chapters but these will be a lot more often.
