Saitama was having a wonderful day.

His favorite supermarkets were having sales and he'd just finished shopping, there wasn't a single mysterious being in sight, and his lovely wife was waiting for him at home with wide open arms, ready to greet him after another day of hero-work.

He'd gotten some vegetables and meat for a good price so maybe he should make some hotpot tonight? And after dinner you can cuddle on the couch while watching TV before going to bed.

Yes, that sounded like a perfect way to end the day.

The hero whistled a small tune as he made his way to his apartment with two grocery bags on each hand, placing them on the ground at first so he could open the door before making his way inside with his haul.

"(Name)? I'm hom—"

"Please go out with me, (Name)-san! I know that you are a few years older than me and that I'm not as great as sensei, but even so...I want you to become mine!" Announced the unmistakable voice which belonged to none other than Genos.

Saitama was frozen as he watched the cyborg on one knee and gripping your hand as if he was proposing and even worse was the flushed yet pleased expression on your face.

"Of course I will! And you don't have to worry about him. I was planning on getting a divorce anyway, because I've completely fallen for you and your luxurious blond locks!"

What were you saying?! This wasn't the (Name) that he'd fallen in love with!

"I'm glad. When shall we inform sensei of our new relationship?" Maybe Genos was blind, because he didn't notice the caped male who was literally standing just a few feet away from them.

And Genos...Saitama always knew that his wife's beauty and kindness attracted all kinds of people, but he never expected his own self-proclaimed disciple to fall for her and actually steal her from him!

No matter how much he wanted to speak and or separate the both of you, for some odd reason he couldn't even move a single muscle or utter a word. As much as he urged his body to move, it didn't listen to him and instead forced him to witness the horrifying sight of you being stolen by another man who actually had hair.

He thought it couldn't get any worse than this, but it apparently could when you closed your eyes and leaned towards the blond who in turn closed his optics and turned his head towards you, lips puckered up to receive your kiss.

"DON'T YOU DARE LAY YOUR HANDS ON MY WIFE OR I'LL REDUCE YOU TO A BUCKET OF BOLTS!!!"

It was only after the male found his vocal chords working again did he register that he was still in bed and with a quick look to the digital clock beside him, it was the middle of the night still.

Saitama surveyed his surroundings, sighing in relief when he was sure that he really had just woken up from a nightmare. Looking down at your peacefully sleeping form beside him, the bald man couldn't help but let a smile grace his features at the sight of you and how tightly you clung to him.

It was a dream. Actually a nightmare, but it was nonetheless just a figment of his wild imagination.

Good, because he wouldn't know what to do if there ever came a day where you yourself would choose to leave him and be with a man more deserving of you.

He knew that he wasn't the worthiest man for you, that you could do so much better than him, but...he also knew that without you he'd probably lose even the will to live anymore now.

You were the most precious person in his life, much more precious to him than his own life to be honest and to imagine living a life without you beside him...was worse than any of the pain he'd experienced or even death itself.

So as selfish as it may sound, he wasn't going to let anyone else have or take you away from him.

Pressing a soft kiss to the smooth skin of your forehead, Saitama wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you flush against his body before tucking your head under his chin. Here in his arms you were safe and completely his...

Before he let himself be ensnared by Hypnos yet again, he made a silent promise to himself that as long as he lives he will never let anyone or anything take you away from him.

Not Genos, not any other man with a death wish, and certainly not a mysterious being.

He'll keep you safe, because what would be left of him if you were gone?

No, he doesn't even think about it because he'd never let it come to that point.

Saitama sleeps with a smile on his face, his fears washed away and replaced with the determination to protect the one thing that truly matters to him: You.
