"Four, five, six, seven..." he kept counting in myriad darkness. At some points he lost himself, but he returned to count parallel to keeping date of month and day, and he got used to do so without blocking into complete darkness.

They observed how the Earth changed. Plants overtook the land, storms ruined the buildings, statues crumpled, and the cement floor cracked until it became dirt. It wasn't the same Earth they lived in.

"Wake up. Wake up." Senku was anxious to wake up. He knew that if he woke up in winter, he would find trouble. Shelter would be difficult to build other than the cave he was in. Most importantly, if winter came hard the only water sources would be frozen, if he found any, and food supplies would be more than unthinkable. It would be a dead end 'ten billion percent'. He stared at the ceiling of the cave, dark it was and when light came, bats showed to live there and a yellow liquid dripped, the only sound bouncing into echos. 'Spring was a must for survival' Senku emphazise to himself as he kept counting in his solitude.

The stone cracked. It began by Senku's eye. Quite shocked that he was being freed by the rock that converted him into a statue for an eternity.

He gasped his first breath but it was cut shortly when his eyes connected with another pair of eyes. They were face to face, staring at each other's eyes.

Nobody moved when their eyes met. Gravity impulsed her down, their skins stuck together. Her arm was across his chest, her leg over his; touching his intimate part, and her breast and harden nipple against his torso. Their bodies were calid, their skin in static friction against each other. His hands were in the air, suddenly caught in her life for an eternity.

Her breath, just like his, were gone, and she began to breathe. Removing herself from him without any word. Her caramel eyes wide as she crawled back. Their breathes back into work.

She hugged herself to hide her intimate parts, puzzled and alert for any threats the young man could do to her. They weren't nice.

Senku sat up. He didn't know what to say, the girl had locked herself going into the defensive. A threatening glare on her stare. So was he.

She broke the eye connection when she looked down. Senku though, kept watching her discreetly.

"Stay here. Place the rocks you shed- right here" Senku ordered returning to his senses as he grabbed rocks tracing his body shape. She didn't respond, her sight down to herself, but as Senku exited the cave, he heard rocks and dirt move.

Senku had been holding his friend to cover it. He took a deep breath and smirked. "We're back into the stone world huh" he said to himself.

She stood on the mere edge of the cave exit, observing him. The world surrounding them in a forest of life and death. It wasn't the same.

She walked out and she started to imitated his actions of weaving. She looked at the weaving he was doing to gain instructions, since she didn't know how to. Her hands reached out to take a few plants, but none from the ones he had taken out and placed on the floor to use, and he noticed so. With a few errors in the weaving process she made it, but struggled tying them at the end.

"Here" he knelt beside her and helped her tie the ends. He then handed her a leaf woven dress, he had worked on, his head straight forward staring right into the ground interested on his work. He had his usual emotionless or arrogant face he always place when he thought of something he yet didn't have figured out.

He grabbed her work, walked away to tied it around his hips, giving her his back. She was left with the one he made which was for her. He had it foreseen.

Tension released from his face, and he made sure his knot was well tied. Rustling in the back of leafs falling and the struggle between her and the dress. He looked back to see how she was doing.

She held the dress gentle and as she attempted to not break it, after all he did all that work and she desire most to not be nude. She analyzed it and attempted to tied it around, under her armpits, which she had to put it on as a bra.

"Pffft" he couldn't hold his laughter. It wasn't a loud laugh but a soft sweet one. He face palm  "It's simple".

She stopped and looked at him, and she smile genuinely with a troubled face, turning around to hide her chest he seemed careless as he stared at her.

He stood there watching how she tied it and he place his pinky finger on his ear and looked away when he determine she figured how the dress was suppose to go.

She was left with another pair of strings from the leafs which she decided to tie around her neck. In a moment of silence, she decided to question him as she let go of her dress afraid that it would go down. "Does it. Go this way?"

"Yeah" he walked towards her and she stretched out her arm once he was in front of her. He saw her hand, slightly shaky as it stood in the air. "My name is Taiga Matsuki" she smiled staring at his eyes.

"My name is Senku ishigami".

"Nice to meet you"

He smirked in response and he observed her physical traits. She was a head shorter than him, had long hair that reached her to her butt; he considered since it was messy and curly that it was longer than it seem. She had brown eyes almost like a caramel paradise, sharp and round in form. On the left of her cheek there was a small smooth lunar.

"Nice to meet you too" Senku said as he shook her hand. A kind of greeting from the western side he noted.

She looked vulnerable and clumsy despite making him feel the need to be defensive a few moments ago in the cave. At that moment though, he felt warm being given her smile. It seem bona fide. Though he noticed her smile was casual, not a big one but not totally forced either. There was no trust between them. He felt the force acts of formality, and her defensiveness around somewhere. So he naturally kept his up too.

"Did you place every rock piece we shed inside the rock trace?"

"Yes. Why do you need them for?" She knew he would come up with an intelligent answer that connected him with his passion with science. He was well heard of around school.

"I must keep the locations and every single fragment we shed for when I am ready to investigate" he said placing his thoughtful look "we must secure our surroundings, and make sure to not waste energy in unnecessary actions, our weight is now gold" he explained.

Taiga stared at him and nodded. "What do you suggest to do Captain?" Taiga asked faintly smiling, nervous to auto add herself to his plans as she looked to the ground. "We'll have to work together to survive. We're not adapted to this world. So if you don't mind, I'll tag along."

He smiled back affected by her smile and influenced by the emerging emotion he was getting. "This is exhilarating"

She had been playing with her hands as she stood in front of him. Her eyebrows rose in surprise and attempted to decipher his excitement for.

"We'll walk forward, there's a river ahead, and we'll search for a clear spot we can build up from, close to the river. Of course." He said staring up the sky with a smile "we'll bring civilization back. Humanity spent two million years getting from Stone Age to modern age. We'll fly threw the ages and bring it back!" He said with much emotion that she could see the excitement through the shine in his eyes. "Let's go".

Taiga pulled him back by his shoulder. Senku grunted and then he heard a branch wiggle in force. A pair of monkeys handing from an arm.

"Yo where are you from?" One seemed to say. Then they started to run away in sudden realization. "It's shiny, GROSS"

Taiga chuckled, covering her laugh. "Gomene."

He was startled and she was sweet. Suddenly reminded of Yuzuriha.

They walked straight forward from where they left the cave following the sound of the river. "It's been 117, 354, 893, 870 seconds since we have been petrified. It's been a good 3, 700 yea-" he wondered if she was even listening.

"You counted?" She exalted, while Senku realized she was.

"Yes. It was a must to wake up in spring to survive, so I had to know the time. This will aid to determine the timing of when we break apart from the stones" he explained. "That big oaf will wake up. He wouldn't leave his declaration half way. He will." He added roaming off topic.

She stayed silent. In her mind, she thought it was futile to know the date. That didn't manage who woke or not. If they had awaken in winter, winter would it be. There was no way around it.

Senku had left a note for his friend, Taiju, in a tree, and he had confirmed that he would wake up because he had to. He had written also "AD 5738, April 1st" but she didn't question it and soon took it as the date they were on considering the words he had recently said.

Senku grunted when he had to pull himself up, from the trees and said "we're almost close" but there was no response. He looked back to make sure she hadn't fallen back. She was there looking at him, poker face at his exhaustion. Senku looked ahead again.

On the walk to the river there was nobody speaking. Not that there was much before it.

"We've made it" he said observing the river "we'll head that way, we'll attempt to find a clear area"

"Sounds good" she responded and Senku was secretly surprised that she responded back.

Senku was used to the big oaf and Yuzuriha responding, as well as the students and others to say something always. Senku studied her and respected the fact that she was simply quiet. Or maybe not. He couldn't make up his mind about her. Was she trustworthy or not?

Senku and Taiga gathered branches and stones. He began to rub the sticks, in an effort to create fire, while she was placed to create a circular area for the fire. The monkeys observed them.

"They are rubbing the sticks. Those shiny monkeys are dumb-dumb"

"And she has been banging the rocks this whole time, what morons"

"Those shiny apes are crazy, they die if they don't mate before chill chill comes and kills" the other monkey communicated

"Yes chill chill" the monkey thought

Soon it was dark night and they had nothing, Senku was frustrated but he didn't stop rubbing. Until he sat and grunt "ahhh" staring at the sky panting. He spread his arms as he laid on the floor supine.

He then turn his head to look at her, in hopes for any progress but she had stopped rubbing the wood as she stared at his figure laying on the ground. "Why don't we try with the string method. Some grass, tie, and we have that thingy"

"Why you tell me till now?" Senku exasperated in a beg.

"I thought you knew what you were doing..."

Senku cried and Taiga sweat dropped. "Sorry..."

"We'll have to sleep without fire tonight." Senku said in disappointment at himself, yet he said it in a grave voice as he stared ahead at the sky with his thoughtful face.

"Yeah. Seems like it." She rose, feeling dizzy from kneeling for hours, she stretched slightly and then she looked around at her surroundings. Taiga walked towards him, and laid down, near him but not close.

She sigh and curled into a ball. Senku did the same facing her and sleep overtook after all the exhaustion.
