"i wished the good outweighed the bad because it'll never be over until you tell me it's over."
---

I feel like I weigh less. Like a lot of weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I don't know if it's because I am well rested or if it's because I talked about the crash with both Wes, Isabelle, and Kayden.

After what happened at school yesterday Kayden went home. I thought it would be a good idea if he wouldn't come over for a few days because of the tension between Wes and him. I just don't want to start any conflict between the two.

"So, you and Kayden?" Willow asked.

Right now, we are in third period sitting at the wooden table. Willow said that it was nice out today, so she wanted to sit in there instead of the library where it was quiet and where we weren't able to talk.

She was working on some project she had for Chemistry, and I had a poetry book in my hand.

But I love our little wooden under the tree.

"Kayden and I are fine," I said trying to hide a blush on my face.

"What was with the two of you yesterday? Don't think I didn't see you two walking in school together."

I looked up at her. "You saw that?"

She nodded her head. "I'm pretty sure everyone did Alexis. It's not known for Kayden to be walking with a girl or with anyone but himself or the boys. " I groan out of annoyance. "What's wrong? Why is it a problem?"

"I just don't like the attention on me. Never have. I feel uncomfortable when everyone's eyes are on me."

"Well just ignore them. But you still haven't answered my question. What's going on with you and Kayden?"

I smile.

A real one.

"I like him Willow. I lot like a lot a lot."

"Love?" Willow asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Maybe," I said trying to hide my blush. "I have known him for only so many months, but I have had this thing with him for not a long time and I don't know he makes me happy again."

"You have definitely changed a lot since the first time I saw you, Alexis. You have grown so much."

"Isabelle said the same thing. I don't know it's just something about Kayden that makes me want to be drowned by him. I don't know if that makes any sense or not-"

"No, it does. Kayden makes you feel like you actually floating." Willow said with a small smile.

"Yea. He makes me feel like my world isn't falling apart." I said with a small smile playing on my lips. The bell rings before Willow could say anything. "Don't say a word to any of the boys," I said before looking down at my book.

But before I could read one of the poems, I hear familiar voices coming near us.

"What's up whores." I turn my head and see Ethan, Mathew, Ben, and Grayson walking towards the table.

Mathew ditched the bed rest and decided to come to school. I told him that it wasn't a good idea, but he didn't care one bit.

I haven't seen Grayson since the night of Mathew's party. I know he has been home watching Melody and making sure she was okay.

Kayden said that he is thinking of moving out after high school and moving to a different part of Southern California.

"Hello boys," Willow said as they sat down at the table. Ethan, Ben, and Grayson sat next to Willow and Mathew sat next to me. "So how is your guy's day going?" Willow asked trying to start a conversation.

"Ehh pretty good." Mathew shrugged.

"I am trying to fucking survive this damn project I have, and I hate the teacher for her assigning it," Willow stated.

I chuckled at her. "Well chemistry is hard so I would be struggling too."

"Oh, Alexis I have another pickup line," Ethan stated and I look at him to continue. "If your upper lip is Christmas and your lower lip is Thanksgiving, can I come to visit any time in between?"

I laughed and so did everyone else. "That's so stupid."

"But you laughed right?" Ethan asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.

I shook my head lightly and look down at the poem I was about to read before I got interrupted by Ethan.

"The future, personified in this poem as some form of sentient entity, refuses to reveal to us what is going to happen. Unlike the 'Dumb', i.e., humans without the power of speech, the Future refuses to use sign language to communicate what is going to happen. Instead, it keeps shtum."

"I don't really understand that one." Someone said as they sit down right next to me.

I look to my left and see Kayden who was now sitting down next to me very closely looking at the text on the book.

I feel a smile lift on my face. "Aren't you suspended?"

"Yea aren't you suspended?" Ethan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Doesn't mean I can't hang out with you guys for lunch," Kayden said while leaning closer to me but I back away.

"Stop Kayden." I chuckled.

"Oh my god stop Kayden you're such a hunk." Ethan mimicked and I kicked him in the shin making him wince. "You are a madwoman." Ethan looked at Kayden. "Control your women Kayden."

"You deserved that." ben muttered before eating his hotdog.

I swear he brings a hotdog for lunch every day.

Kayden chuckled and then kissed me on the cheek.

"Aw, you guys are so cute." Mathew squealed.

"Fuck you." Kayden glared at Mathew.

"Nah I'm good KitKat." Mathew teased and I laughed.

I never expected my new beginning to be like this. I am glad that I actually moved to California. I would have never met Willow who has been probably one of the best friends I have ever had. I would have never met anyone like Mathew and Ethan who always have a way of making me laugh. Grayson is a mystery, but I hope I get to find out more about him, but I have no clue who he is or what his story is.

And then Kayden has made me forget all the bad memories and has made me want to enjoy life instead of dreading it.

And I couldn't be more grateful.

"Be ready by 8 tonight," Kayden whispered in my ear and I looked at him.

"Why?"

"Just be ready. Dress in something casual."
